PlayStation's handheld remote-play console, codenamed 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Project Q, finally has 🃏a name - Portal. It's $199.99 (also £199.99) and launches later ♏this year.

"PlayStation Portal remote player brings the PS5 experience to the palm of your hand," the blog announcement reads. "It includes the key featurꦛes of the DualSense wireless controller, including adaptive triggers and haptic feedback. The vibrant eight-inch LCD screen is capable of 1080p resolution at 60fps [...]

"PlayStation Portal will connect remotely to your PS5 over Wi-Fi, so you'll be able to swiftly jump from playing on your PS5 to your PlayStation Portal. [It] can play support games that are installed on your PS5 and use the DualSense controller. It also includes a 3.5mm audio jack for wired audi🎶o. PS VR2 games, which require the headset, and games that are streamed through PlayStation Plus Premium's cloud streaming, are not supported."

When the PlayStation Portal was initially announced, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:gamers weren't too happy. From the clunky design of two halves of a controller wedged onto the side of a tablet to the cloud-only caveat, players tore into every detail available. Someone even made a mock-up of Link fusing together parts in Tears of the Kingdom, while others ꦉpointed out that, had Portal leaked before the announcement, most would've assumed it was fake. And now we know that, despite it being a cloud console unlike prior PlayStation out൲ings such as the Vita and PSP, it can't run the PS3 cloud library.

Funnily enough, you can do what the Portal does on a Steam Deck already. There are app𒉰 library add-ons that let you use the remote play function, turning your Deck into a portable PS5. And like the Portal, it connects over your Wi-Fi. However, the Deck also has your entire Steam library that you can play natively, meaning you can use it offline and without a good internet connection.

Despite being cloud-based, the Portal also reportedly has a battery lif♔e of only three to four𝓀 hours, so odds are you'll end up playing with it plugged into a charger mo༺st of the time.

While we still don't have a specific release date, only a vague "later this year" promise, reports from May claim that 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the Portal is launching in November, just in time for the holidays. That also means if you wait just one month, you'll be able to play 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Spider-Man 2 handheld. Alternatively, you can keep the TV on and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:turn your PS5 into a Wii U, if you really, really want to.
