Summary

  • For a long time now, PlayStation has been criticised for not using most of its beloved older franchises.
  • That might not be the case in the future, though, as a reliable reporter has claimed that smaller games are in the works.
  • These titles will be from "deep-cut" IP, which leaves a lot of speculation about what PlayStation is getting up to.

A reliable reporter has claimed🃏 that is reportedly working on several smaller games from "deep, deep-cut" franchises to supplement some of its bigger releases.

Just a few months ago, Astro Bot managed to remind us all just how 🌱good P💫layStation's first-party lineup is, a feat so strong that it even went on to win Game of the Year at both Th🃏e Game Awards and TheGamer. That being said, one fair critique of Astro Bot is how it parades around 🐻a bunch of series tha🍸t Sony and PlayStation have largely ignored over the last decade.

While that all seemed a little garish and ironic when Astro Bot launched, it seems that PlayStation is taking steps to remedy that criticism and give long-time fans a little more to look forward to outside of its huge triple-A releases. The company's CEO, 168澳洲🅷幸运5开奖网:Herman Hulst, recently🐼 confirmed as much, an𒆙d it seems that there are a few smaller projects already in th🍌e works.

PlayStation Is Developing Some Smaller Games In "Deep-Cut" Franchises

, the . After admitting that they want to see more games from PlayStation this year, VGC's editor-in-c🏅hief Andy Robinson shared an interesting hint suggesting that's actually the intent for the company.

Robinson said that, "without being an insider d**k", he knows a couple of the games that are under development right now and that they include some "deep, deep-cut old IP". The titles in development are meant to be smaller titles that will end up supplementing Pl🐽ayStation's bigger releases, s🐲uch as Ghost of Yotei and Death Stranding 2.

Without being an insider dick, I know of a couple that they're working on, like the deep, deep-cut old IP. Kind of in the mold that you're talking about, maybe some s🙈maller games supplementing their big releases. - Andy Robinson

Since the statement is purposefully vague, it's not clear what IPs PlayStation is specifically working on developing smaller titles for, but it is easy to guess. Thanks to Astro Bot, we have a whole bunch of contenders for smaller series that could get a new game, such as Ape Escape, Patapon, Parappaꦛ the Rapper, Vib-Ribbon, and tons more.

We'll have to wait and see which franchises PlayStation actually ends up utilising, but the mention of "deep, deep-cut" series does seem to eliminate some of the more beloved ones like Sly Cooper and Jak and Dax🉐ter. Here's hoping that all of the games are leading to ♛a road where we finally get Sly out of Egypt.
