For the𓃲 first time ever, Sony will not have a press conference at E3 next year.

According to the Entertainment Software Association's announcement of E3 2019, Sony Interac♊tive Entertainment will not be taking part in the show. This marks the first time in E3's 24-year history that Sony will not be giving their own press conference.

, "As the industry evolves, Sony Interactive Entertainment continues to look for inventive opportunities to engage the community.PlayStation fans mean the world to us and we always want to innovate, think differently and experiment with new ways to delight gamers. As a result, we have decided not to participate in E3 in 2019. We are exploring new and familiar ways to engage our community in 2019 and can’t wait to share our plans with you."

Sony has already canceled its upcoming PlayStation Experience, citing a lack of games to show off🔥. It's possible Sony is skipping E3 next year for the same reasons - meaning gamers might be about to see a drought of good first-party games for the PlayStation, after an incredibly strong 2018.

Sony does have some exclusive games coming out in 2019, but Dreams, the next game/sandbox from Little Big Planet devs Media Molecule, and Days Gone, the zombie-infested action-adventure game, don't seem quite as exciting as 2018's God Of War and Marvel's Spider-Man.

Nintendo, too, has re🦋cently elected to bypass at least some of E3. This past year, Nintendo only released a pre-recorded Direct, but stillﷺ had a significant floor presence.

While this may be a shock to some, it is not entirely surprising. E3 has changed dramatically over the past few years, especially since it started admitting the general public to the show as opposed to just industry insiders and press. Game studios and publishers are now mostly hosting their own press conferences at the times of year that are most opportune for them, and as more gaming events pop up in the calendar, there are lots of great opportunities to drop new trailers and announcements throughout the year - such as the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:upcoming Video Game Awards.
