It is easy to play the Pokémon games without reading a single Pokédex entry. Why bother, right? You could be a veteran player who figures that they already know everything there is to know 🥂about Pokémon. Or you just do not care. After all, Pokémon is just a really complicated game of rock, paper, scissors, right?

If you are one of those who does not read the Pokédex, then you are actually missing out. You would be surprised at what kind of information the little device has. If the rest of the game was erased and you only had a Pokédex, you would probably imagine a different world than the one you have b🌊een playing in.

A lot of the Pokédex🎐 entries are just plain spooky, especially when it comes to Ghost-Type Pokémon. Some entries 🐓give us far more questions than answers. For example, is there a Heaven in Pokémon? Are humans able to become Pokémon? Even stranger questions such as: do China and India exist in the Pokémon world?

Some entries are so biza🀅rre, they feel like mistakes. Apparently, Magikarp can jump over a mountain by using the move “Splash.” That’s hard to believe after watching enough of the anime and playing the games. So why is the Pokédex telling us that? For what purpose are these dex entries really for if they just further confuse us?

Sღo here is a list of Poke🐼dex entries that range from funny to just plain odd.

30 Funny: A Kid Turned Into A Kadabra 🃏

Via: Draw Central

In Pokémon FireRed, the Pokédex entry 🔴states “It happened one morning – a boy with extrasensory powers awoke in bed transformed into Kadabra.”

That’s it, end of story. Unless you also had the good fortune to play Pokémon Emerald in which the entry says, “It is rumored that a boy with psychic abilities suddenly ꦬtransformed into Kadabra while he was assisting research into extrasensory powers.”

Oddly🦩 enough, there are other cases of people turning into Pokémon for var꧋ious reasons.

Were these entries what inspired Pokémon Mystery Dungeon or vice versa?

29 🐭 Funny: Lampent Eats Souls ꧂

Via: Pokémon Wikia

In Omega Ruby and Black and White 2, ✅the Pokédex says, “The spirits it absorbs fܫuel its baleful fire. It hangs around hospitals waiting for people to pass on.”

So this proves that souls not only exist, but they can be used as fuel for a Ghost-Type Pokémon. Not only is that a lot to take in, but that’s intense. That is like what the main antagonist is about in Over the Garden Wall. However🀅, they seem innocent eno꧋ugh. Guess you just got to do what you got to do.

28 Mistake: Yanmega Can’t Use Fly 🐽

Via: Pokémon Wikia

“This six-legged Pokémon is easily capable of transporting an adult in flight. The wings on its tail help it stay balanced.” – Pokémon Y’s Pokedex.

This entry obviously states tha♔t you can fly it places.

You’re not even really an adult in these games,📖 so it should be easy. However, Yanmega is a Pokémon that cannot learn the move Fly despite what this dex entry lead🔜s us to believe. Some Pokémon professor made a mistake on this one.

27 Funny: Yamask Cries At Its Own Face 🀅 🍨

via: imgur.com

The Pokédex entry for Yamask in Pokémon Black and Pokémon Y reads, “Each o൲f them carries🐟 a mask that used to be its face when it was human. Sometimes they look at it and cry.”

Sad? Yes? So sad that it’s kind o🐬f funny? It can be.

First of all, we have Pokémon that were once people again. Except, in this case, these are deceased people? Is being a Pokémon a form of afterl🎃ife? Why do all the Yamask masks look the same if this dex entry is true?

26 ♔ 🗹 Funny: Drifloon’s Failed Stealing

Via: Pokémon Wikia

As many fans already know, some Pokédex entrie🌺s taught us that 🥀Drifloon actually can take children.

There are some spooky entries like the one in Pokémon Heartgold and Soulsilver that says, “It is whispered that any child who mistakes Drifloon for a🐟 balloon and holds on to it could💖 wind up missing.”

However, this goes from scary to hilarious when you read the entry for Pokémon Pearl which says, “It tugs on the hands of children to stea🍸l them away. However, it gets pulled around instead.” Aw, poor Drifloon!

25 Mistake: Alakazam's IQ Is Insane ✤

via: pokemonbyreview.blogspot.com

“It has an IQ of 5000. It calculates many things in order to gain the edge in every battle.” – Pokémon Crystal.

So, what’s the average IQ of a human? According to the Brain Metrix website, only 🐓90 to 110. With that logicᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚ, Alakazam is 50 times smarter than a human. Imagine that level of intelligence. If you have 150 IQ, you are technically a genius so what is Alakazam? A god? If it’s that smart, then it would not be an average Pokémon. It should be a legendary!

24 Funny: Crummy C🥀actuses

Via: Amino Apps

Cacturne has one of the most threatening and unsettling Pokédex entries out there if you had Pokémon Sapphire. It says, “If a traveler is going through a desert in the thick of night, Cactur💟ne will follow in a ragta🃏g group.

"The P🔯okémon are biding their time, waiting for the traveler to tire and become incapable of moving༺.”

The scary part is that🌊 the entry does not say what the Cacturne want. All it says is that it’s slowly hunting people.

23 ꦗ Funny: A Six Mile Sc𝓰ream

via: imgur.com

According to Pokémon FireRed, LeafGreen, Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum, this Exploud scream can be heard from six miles away. The entry states, “It emits a variety of sounds from the holes all over its body. Its loud cries can be ꦫheard from over six miles away.”

That’s honestly spooky. You probably cannot live in most cities if you have an Exploud. Dislike your neighbors? Get an Exploud. It’s just like having a rock concert follow you around. Even if you had a calm Exploud, kids wil👍l try to make it scream.

22 𝓀 Mistake🐻: A Thick Skull

via: zerochan.com

“If two were to smash their heads together, their foot-thick skulls would keep them from fainting.” – Pokémon Platinum.

If only this entry were true, as Headsmash is♏ a Pokémon move and Rampardos can faint from getting hit by it.

It serves as a reminder to all of us in the world of Pokémon that game balance will always top lore. It’s okay though since our expectations are never that high. A ga♒me that follows its 💞own lore? Preposterous!

21 Funny: Swablu Hat 💝

via: deviantart.com

This Pokédex entry may be familiar to you as it fascinated the internet for a while. In Black and White 2, Swablu’s entry states, “For some reason, it likes to land on people's heads softly and🧸 ꦉact like it's a hat.”

The popularity of this entry is probably ❀due to cuteness. It even inspired plenty of fanart. Swablu is a popular Bird-Type Pokémon on its own, so this extra bit of adorable information is loved by the fan community.
