The second protagonist of the Pokemon anime, Ash's Pikachu, is known for some iconic moves like Thunderbolt. But, the Electric-type Pokemon has used several other moves as well, and today we'll be going over all of them.
We won't be including the Z-Moves and G-Max moves that it's used, nor the many, many moves that Pikachu combined with other moves (from itself or other Pokemon), nor the ones that Pikachu and Ash just kind of... made up? Anyway, let's get into it.
Updated on August 10, 2021 by Michael Christopher: Since the initial publication of this post, many more episodes of the Pokemon anime have aired. We've given it a refresh to make sure it's up to date.
10 Thunder Shock, Thun꧅derbolt💯, Thunder
You could technically call all of these moves Pikachu's signature moves, as they're always the ones used when it needs to pull off big damage, with Thunderbolt and Thunder really doing the heavy lifting.
They are powerful moves, though, and they're almost always the moves that are used to send Team Rocket blasting off again.
Thunderbolt is particularly iconic, and is often associated with Ash's Pikachu when it comes to the anime.
9 Agility
In the Pokemon anime, Agility is a move that is used to zoom over to your opponent as you blink back and forth on a generic blue background so we can save a little bit of money on animation. It's an explosive show, okay?
Agility is most often used for Pikachu to get in close to its opponent in order to𝓰 deal some powerful damage.
It seems like Pikachu really needed some speed, because both Agility and Quick Attack were learned in the same episode, which featured Ash's battle against Lt. Surge.
8 Qu꧒ick Attack ♐
This is a move that we see often in the anime, not just 🧸from Pikachu, but from many other Pokemon as well🐭. Pikachu learned it in the same episode where it learned Agility.
Quick Attack is used pretty often to throw the opponent's Pokemon off before they have a chance to counter. It's weirdly powerful in the anime, too, so it does sort of make sense as to why so many Trainers keep the move around.
7 Doub🌠le-Edge ꦿ
Double-Edge is a move that you don't see Pikachu pull out too often. That's because it was only used in one single episode, all the way back in 1999.
It's a powerful move, though, and Pikachu used it rather well, smashing into Ritchie's Butterfree. Unfortunately, Ash and Pikachu lost against Ritchie overall.
6 Tackle
Another move that Pikachu has ready for... some reason... is Tackle. It's worse than both Double-Edge and Quick Attack, but Pikachu is not afraid to literally throw its body into its opponent if need be. What's even worse is that Pikachu can't even legally learn Tackle in the games.
Does it make any sense? No? Is Ash the Champion of Alola? Well... yes. Does that mean he knows what he's doing in any way at all? Not always!
5 Leer
That's... that's Leer. Yup. Luckily, Leer isn't a move that Pikachu uses in battle all too often. Instead, it was used to cheer up Togepi when it was sad.
Like Tackle, Pikachu can't legally learn Leer in the games, making this another illegal move that Ash's Pikachu has used. At least it was for a good cause.
4 Iron Tail
Iron Tail is another one of Pikachu's signature moves. Pikachu uses this move to slam its tail down on the opponent, dealing a massive amount of damage in the process.
This is a move that Pikachu and Ash have used creatively many times, including some improvised combination moves with Iron Tail and other moves. They usually work out well. Pikachu has used this move for many years, and it doesn't seem to be going away any time soon.
3 Electro Ball 𝓰
As you can probably tell from the name, Electro Ball is a move where Pikachu launches an orb of electricity a🦹t an opponent.🐠 Pikachu learns this move during the Black & White era, and it was the first time it had learned a new move since the adventurers were in Hoenn.
In the games, Electro Ball's power is dependent upon how much faster the user is than their target. Given how fast we've seen Pikachu zip around in the anime, it might be inflicting some heavy damage when it uses this move.
2 Electroweb ﷽
Electroweb is Pikachu's newest move, recently learned in the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Sun & Moon series. Electroweb is us🍰ed to cover Pikachu in a net-like cover that can keep it safe from attacks, but it can be used offensively as well.
Most of Pikachu's moveset is based on dealing as much damage as possible at any given time, so having a move that can give Pikachu a little bit of utility here and there isn't a bad thing by any means.
Pikachu often uses thꦇis move for uti🐎lity, trapping others or bouncing off of it as a springboard.
1 Volt Tackle ♛ 🍬
Another one of Pikachu's moves of all time is Volt Tackle. This is one of Pikachu's most powerful attacks, as it runs at an opponent at full speed, crashing into them and packing an electrified punch.
While it does deal a good chunk of recoil da🍰mage, it mo🍌re than makes up for it with its raw power. This move was one that took Pikachu some time to master, but easily became one of its most trusted methods of attack.
