The Pokemon anime is preparing to undergo its biggest change ever as Ash and Pikachu will say goodbye and make way for a new protagonist, Liko. Liko will be joined by Roy, someone we still know very little about. What exactly Roy's Pokeball does is yet to be revealed, but the Japanese Pokemon Twitter account does note that it looks old-fashioned. Perhaps it will be used to catch Paradox Pokemon, which were introduced in Scarlet & Violet but haven't debuted in the anime yet.
