ASMR is definitely not𝓀 my thing. For a lot of people, the sound of an e-girl eating chips in high fidelity gives them something called an “eargasm”. I don’t particularly enjoy the sound of another person chewing food, so I certainly don’t want to hear it in Dolby Atmos surround sound. I’m not here to yuck anyone’s yum, but I just don’t get the appeal of listening to long fingernails t♚ap on the back of an iPhone. It’s a sex thing right? It’s definitely a sex thing.
There’s only one type of ASMR video that doesn’t activate my fight or flight: the Pokemon Kids TV ASMR series from the official Japanese Pokemon YouTube channel. I’m a big fan of pocket monsters, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:if you weren’t already aware, so it’s not that surprising that 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokemon ASMR videosﷺ would appeal to me, even if they don’t give me “the tingles”, whatever that is.
If you haven’t seen any of these videos, you’re in for a bizarre treat. These shorts started appearing on the Japanese Pokemon YouTube channel about a year ago and they have surprisingly high production value. I’m not certain exactly how many of them there are now, since they don’t have their own playlist, but I’ve been able to find videos for Pikachu, Charmand🎶er, Squirtle, Chespin, and best (or worst) of all, Grimer.

If you just want to dip your toes into the weird world of Pokemon ASMR, I suggest you start with Pikachu. This 15 minute video knows exactly what you ASMR sick꧟os are all about. It starts out in an empty room with Pikachu making sniffing sounds in your ears like a curious puppy. You hear the patter of his little feet on the hardwood floor for just a moment before Pika pops into frame shouting “Surprise!” in Pikaspeak, which sounds a lot 🍌like the word “Pikachu”, of course.
Pikachu spends the next few minutes kicking a blue rubber ball back and forth across the room, which makes a nice airy *plonk* whenever they kick it, I must 🎐admit. It reminds me of playing kickball during recess in elementary school, which is coincidentally when my friendship with Pikachu was at its peak. The rest of the video is pretty much just Pikachu running around the room, playing with the ball, and whispering “Pikachu” in your ear. Eventually, Pikachu gets sleepy and lays down for a nap, softly snoring its own name until the video ends.
Pikachu’s video is by far the m💞ost popular with almost four million views, but it’s not even close to being the best one. That honor belongs to Walking Gr𓆉imer, one of the most unsettling videos I’ve ever, well, heard.
All Grimer does in its video is walk from left to right across a white void and over various obstacles like steps, balls, and shaky floors. What makes this ASMR video remarkable is its interpretation of Grimer’s sound. Slimer is a goopy, drippy boy, but the A▨SMRtists behind this video apparently i♉magined that Grimer sounds like a ten gallon bucket of boiling puke. It’s, frankly, indecent. If I heard this sound in real life, I’d think that the sewers had backed up and the streets were running brown with actual shit. It’s unpleasant, is what I’m getting at. At first, you think it can’t get any worse, but then Grimer steps onto the shaky floor and the whole thing gets turned up to 11. I don’t think this is what ASMR is all about, but as far as I’m concerned, it’s high art.
In Chespin’s Happy Snack Time, the little chipmunk eats an entire plate of macaroons, then, Pikachu brings them a second plate! What a fun surprise! Mukbang is by far the lowest form of ASMR, but as long as you can shield your mind from the fact that these are the sounds of some Japanese web content producer 𝓰eating cookies, Chespin is actually pretty cute.
The other two videos are more like traditional soundscapes, so if you like to unwind by l🔜istening to the r🐎ain fall on a tin roof, you’ll likely enjoy these. One is just Charmander sleeping in front of a campfire, and the other is Squirtle’s Day at the Beach. There’s some fun surprises in that one, like Squirtle chasing a Wingull and Kyogre jumping out of the water, but for the most part, it’s just the sound of waves on the beach.
Pikachu by the Patio was uploaded in December and is still the most recent episode, so it looks like The Pokemon Company’s little ASMR experiment might be over. These probably aren’t exactly what an ASMR lover is looking for, but I must admit they gave me a new appreciation for the medium. I still think its a weird sex thing, b🎃ut I guess it’s nice to know there at least one kid-friendly version out there that definitely isn’t going to take a weird, horny turn.
I still don’t know whaᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚt an eargasm is though, 🌼and at this point, I’m too afraid to ask.
