Generation Six was big for Pokemon's competitive battling scene. Competitive in general skyrocketed in popularity, and a few moves got buffs that would enhance their competitive viability, namely Knock Off, Defog, Will-O-Wisp, and Hex.
That said, Generation Six isn't strongly represented in Generation Eight's competitive meta. Kalos didn't introduce that many Pokemon to the franchise, so chances of getting strong competitive Pokemon from that pool were always going to be pretty slim. For the record, Greninja would easily be first place here if it was usable in Generation Eight, but for now, here are the best Pokemon to use that hail from the Pokemon world's nucleus of beauty.
This list will not include Pokemon banned to Ubers or 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:regional variants of Kalos Pokemon.
15 Heliolisk
Rarely does a Pokemon have multiple-weather viability, as most weather-team specialists are relegated to just one weather (168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Seismitoad in the rain, Venusaur in the sun, etc.) H🌊eliolisk is a unique case with three different abilities that activate in three different kinds of weather: Dry Skin, Solar Power, and Sand Veil.
The former two have seen the most significant usage, with rain-activated Dry Skin giving it a much-appreciated Water-type immunity and an accuracy bypass on Thunder, and sun-activated Solar Power increasing its power overall. Unfortunately, its sꦑtats make it far from excellent, being merely good offensively and horrible defensively.
14 Dhelmise
A third STAB option is an advantage many Pokemon would love to have, and Dhelmise essentially has that, thanks to its Steelworker ability. Its Ghost-type, Grass-type, and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Steel-type moves can be relied on for good damage, especially with its 131♚ Attꩵack stat. Solid option to teach Rapid Spin to as well.
Unfortunately, Dhelmise's unique makeup proves to be more gimmick than a truly viable niche. It lacks a lot of the little things that make a great competitive battler, such as reliable defensive assignments and invulnerability to hazards and status effects. Other Pokemon can play its designated roles a lot better.
13 Diancie
On paper, Diancie should be way better than it actually is. It's a Fairy-type Mythical with fantastic defensive stats. A closer look at its makeup exposes a myriad of problems, though.
For one, Diancie is also a Rock-type, one of the worst types to pair with Fairy. It's somewhat lackluster offensively due to its stats, putting its access to a rare, viable Rock-type attack to waste. It also lacks a game-changing ability that would bring it to the elite tier Mythicals usually reach. Still, at the very least, Diancie works as a solid defensive Stealth Rock setter and cleric.
12 Dragalge
Poison/Dragon-types tend to be surprisingly good offensively, and while Dragalge doesn't have a massive Special Attack stat, its utility role is enhanced by its solid offensive potential. Draco Meteor and Sludge Bomb allow it to work as a decent check to Fairy-types and Pokemon resisted by the Dragon-type. It's also a very good pivot, with access to arguably the best offensive pivoting move in Flip Turn.
That said, it has a few weaknesses that really hold it back. It's incredibly slow at 44 Speed, and its physical Defense leaves a lot to be desired.
11 Pangoro
Pangoro packs a huge physical punch and not much else. A great Attack stat i൲s never bad, but that can only take you so far, especially conꦫsidering Pangoro has some glaring weaknesses. It has low defenses and Speed, which makes it particularly hard to switch Pangoro onto the field without pivot support.
If you can work around those shortcomings, though, Pangoro's a huge threat. Knock Off is underrated as a STAB attack, and Close Combat is always a great move. Moves like Bullet Punch and Drain Punch can also circumvent their lack of Speed and longevity, respectively.
10 🗹Barbaracle
Competitively speaking, Barbaracle is shaped from 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:a similar mold as Omastar; both are Water/Rock-types that ♔rely on Shell Smash to play a set-up sweeper role. Barbaracle certainly has the stats to do so, with the defensive stats to take a hit before the set-up and a very good Attack stat that reaches dangerous levels afterw𝕴ard.
What holds it back is the long list of checks that can deal with it even when set up. It's extremely weak to Grass-types, and Water-type walls can put its sweeping spree to a screeching halt.
9 Goodra
Sure, it's a pseudo-Legendary, but consensus opinion puts Goodra at the bottom of that category. Its most glaring flaw at first glance is it's a pure Dragon-type, which means it doesn't deal STAB super-effective damage against any type other than itself.
That would be just fine if it was a great defensive Pokemon, but while its Special Defense is a massive 150, its 70 Defense leaves much to be desired. Its flaws are so much so that it's considered a middle-of-the-pack competitive Pokemon overall, though it can still make an impact as a solid special attacker with coverage.
8 Slurpuff
Slurpuff is the polar opposite of Goodra. Its status as a middle-of-the-road competitive 'mon is an overachievement because 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the Meringue Pokemon doesn't even reach 90 in any stat. It's known for two distinct builds: an offensive build and a suicide lead build.
The former of the two cleverly utilizes the Unburden ability: Belly Drum, which sets it up and lowers its HP. This activates a held Sitrus Berry, which activates Unburden when eaten, which turns Slurpuff into a lethal late-game sweeper. The latter build mainly re꧟lies on Sticky Web for hazard support and Misty Explosion for heavy suicide damage.
7 Klefki
Klefki is arguably the most notorious bearer of the Prankster ability since that's basically its whole schtick competitively. Nine out of ten times, any Klefki out there comes with three status moves, all with added priority, and maybe Dazzling Gleam, just in case.
The most common move you'll likely find on a Klefki is Spikes. Barring an OHKO, which is unlikely because of its typing and passable defensive stats, it's guaranteed to get at least two layers of Spikes on your side of the field. It'll likely also have Thunder Wave and pester your whole team with paralysis.
6 Noivern
Noivern is one of the fastest Pokemon alive at 123 Speed, which helps it play a very good offensive pivot. Its Special Attack isn't spectacular at 97, but its 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:STAB Draco Meteor works well enough against Pokemon that aren't designated as walls. Its real value lies in its utility, with moves like Defog, Roost, and U-Turn available.
Where it suffers most is on the defensive end. Not only are its defensive stats below average, but it basically needs Heavy Duty Boots because of its Flying-typing, which limits its potential and makes it a fဣavorite Knock Off target.
