The Pokémon series is a mysterious one. That is to say💧 Game Freak and Nintendo keep a lot of secrets to themselves, be it cut content or canceled games. That’s where the fans come in. The following ten Pokémon were uncovered via the ROM dumps of the first two generations of games, along with artwork found in the Japanese manga based on the creator’s history, Satoshi Tajiri: The Man Who Created Pokémon.

From sketches to actual game data, there is so much to uncover that fans are still piecing everything together. So, of the cut Pokémon that are known out there, what are some of the weirdest that🌳 never made it to the light of day? Let’s see what Pokémon even Nintendo and Game Freak were afraid to unveil♈ and let’s remember, they released a keychain Pokémon, Klefki.

For the majority of the entries, fan art created by the t𝕴alented  will be used as her creations are very close to the design of the early generation games. Any exceptions will be pointed out.

10 Baloonda

Speaking of Klefki, it appears Game Freak was almost out of ideas starting in the first games. Who would want a ballon for a Pokémon? That said, this idea would get reused in Generation IV, aka Pokémon Diamond & Pearl, for Drifloon.

At least it looks ꧅more fantastical. The꧒ artwork was drawn by Rachel Briggs, or on Twitter, as a recreation of the original drawing for Baloonda.

9 Buu

Pokémon theorists out there want to believe that Buu was going to be the male version of Jynx. Its face had a similar dark complex🐬ion and its entry in the database was also close.

Since the back of its sprite was only shown, this meant creators like Rachel Briggs had to do some guesswork for the front when recreating the sprite. Now, while Jynx never got a male counterpart it did get a baby evolution via Smoochum in Pokémon Gold & Silver.

8 Crocky

This is a strange Pokémon to be sure. A crocodile isn’t that weird, but a furry one takes the cake. It could be theorized that Crocky’s design was later reused for Totodile’s line in Pokémon Gold & Silver along with Sandile’s line in Generation V aka Pokémon Black & White.

At least the fur never came back. Th🌄e artwork was drawn by Rachel Briggs as a recreation of the original drawing for Crocky.

7 Deer

Art by .

Deer is only th𝕴e nickname given to this Pokémon since it looks like the animal and it had no name. It looks sort of like Hitmonlee if it were a deer, but a real boney one.

There have been too many deer Pokémon over the years to really get in💎to this take here, as this animal seems to be a favorite among Game Freak.

6 Elephant

Elephant also had no name. There isn’t really anything creepy or weird about it, but its plainness is what makes it uninteresting. The idea of an elephant Pokémon would get reused for Generation II's Pokémon Gold & Silver with Phanpy and Donphan.

Most recently, Cufant and Copperajah from Generation VIII aka Pokémon Sword/Shield could also be linked to this. The artwork😼 was drawn by Rachel Briggs as a recreation of the original drawing for Elephant.

5 Kakutasu

Art by .

Like Buu, fan artists had to do some guesswork when crafted Kakutꦰasu. There is a back sprite along with a front-facing drawing but said drawing is almost unrecognizable. Some artists dra▨w Kakutasu with just the bottom ball having eyes while others have all three form faces.

Either way, it is unsettling. Now, this idea for a cactus Pokémon would get reused for Cacnea and Cacturne in Generation III aka Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire and with Maractus in Pokémon Black/White.

4 ൩ Leafy Vs Leafeon

This is actually an example of a drastic change in design rather than a complet🃏e scrapping. This first proposed Grass form of♔ Eevee was to be called Leafy. The creepy bit about this original design was the finger toes.

This would later get reworked in Generation IV's 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokémon Diamond & Pearl for Leafeon. The artwork was drawn by Ra🐭chel Briggs as a recreation of the original sprite for Leafy.

3 Manbou, Ikari, & Grotess 🥂

Manbou and Grotess look fine, but it really doesn’t make sense to go from a fish to a shark and eventually an eel. The big problem here is the shark, aka Ikari, because of that ridiculous anchor. The idea of Ikari may have influenced Sharpedo from Pokémon Ruby & Sapphire.

It’s a shark merged with an object, but in Sharpedo's case, it’s a torpedo. For some extra trivia, the concept for Grotess would get reused as well via Eelektrik and Eelektross in Pokémon Black & White as well as Huntail, also from Pokémon Ruby & Sapphire. Rachel Briggs'ꦏ artwo🐼rk brings to life the original sprites of Manbou, Ikari, and Grotess.

2 Taaban

Art by .

“The Shellder that is latched onto Slowpoke's tail is said to feed on the host's leftover scraps.” That is the Pokédex entry from Pokémon Blue& Red. So, in theory, this meant that both Shellder ܫand S💦lowpoke evolved.

However, in Pokémon Gold & Silver this was going to be its own Pokémon unrelated𝐆 to Shellder’s line called Taaban. This would have just con♛fused the evolutionary line.

1 Hitmontop Beta ℱ

Art by .

Like Leafy, this was actually just a first draft for Hitmontop. It too comes across as a bit eerie due to its legs being𒈔 propped up on top and its third𓆏 eye.

It is hard to look at this version of Hitmontop without ge♈tting mesmerized, albeit in a bad way🅷. Still, it is a pretty unique design that holds some similarities to the final look of the Pokémon.
