How To Catch Mesprit
Catching Mesprit is a difficult task because it roams around the Sinnoh region and will flee the battle whenever you find it. However, if you follow the steps below, then you can easily catch it. You should obtain the Marking Map feature for the Poketch before continuing, which you can get by speaking with the Poketch President in Jubilife City after you acquire your third gym badge.
How To Find Mesprit
Once you can surf across the water and have completed the main storyline, travel to Lake Verity and surf to the middle of the lake, where you'll find a cave. Mesprit is inside the cave; however, it will run from you as soon as you interact with it. This is where the𝔉 Marking Map feature works in your favor because you can use it to track Mesprit across the Sinnoh region.
Next, travel to Route 205 from Floaroma Town and run in-between the town and route. Keep running between these two areas until you encounter Mesprit in the location. If you use a repel, then you can travel into the grass and encounter Mesprit. Quick Balls have a decent chance of catching Mesprit at the start of the battle; however, you should use a Master Ball if possible since it guarantees that you'll catch Mesprit on your first try. Other types of Poke Balls won't work well since Mesprit has a lot of HP when you encounter it. Mesprit will run away quickly after this encounter if you don't catch it.
If you can't catch Mesprit with a Quick Ball or Master Ball, then you need to battle it to reduce its HP. You can use a Pokemon with the Shadow Tag ability to stop Mesprit from running away when you encounter it. Wobbuffet has the Shadow Tag ability, so y🦹ou should use one of these Pokemon during the battle to prevent Mesprit from fleeing.
You can use the Marking Map feature to continue tracking Mesprit around the Sinnoh region until you can reduce its HP and catch it. Status effects such as Paralysis or Sleep are useful for weakening Mesprit and making it easier to catch. Remember to use weaker moves so that Mesprit doesn't faint from a super-effective attack.
