There's an NPC trainer class in the Pokemon series, including 16⛄8澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokemon Brillia✅nt Diamond & Shining Pearl, called "Bug Catcher." It's been around since the beginning. It's one of those classes that centers on a specific type, and it's all in the name — no second guesses here; it's clearly for the Bug-type.

Bug Catchers, almost invariably, harp on and on about the greatness of Bug-type Pokemon. It's their shtick, their raison d'être. Bug Catchers have nothing else to say except that Bug-types are cool. You really need to trust them! They're downright desperate about spreading their gospel. That desperation stems from widespread fandom dismissal. The harsh truth is that many Bug-types are not good. But some are! Pokemon BDSP does have a few! Here they are in all their glory, the few, the proud, the best Bug Pokemon in Sinnoh.

4 🥀 Yanmega (National Dex)

Pokemon Sinnoh Crossgen Evolutions Yanmega

It's too bad Yanmega never received a Mega Evolution. "Mega Yanmega" would have been fun to say. It's also too bad its initial form, Yanma, isn't available until after defeating the Elite Four for the first time, meaning it can't be caught at any point during the main story. Yanmega would have made a pretty neat addition to the team and its usefulness at the Battle Tower and online is somewhat limited as well.

That's not to say it's completely without cause. Speed Boost is one of the best abilities in Pokemon BDSP, if not the entire series. At the end of every turn, Yanmega's already-solid Speed stat ticks upward one stage. Even better is the harder-to-find Tinted Lens, which causes any non-effective move to hit opponents for double damage. This is a bona fide table-turner﷽ in many situations.

Special Attack is Yanmega's strongest stat so fill it up with STAB ("Same Type Attack Bonus") moves like Air Slash and Bug Buzz. Bug Buzz has a base power of 90 and lowers the target's Special Defense by a stage; it's one of those attacks that really ought to have existed prior to the original Diamond & Pearl. It could have helped Bug Catchers preach the Good News all over Kanto, Johto, and even Hoenn. Oh well.

3 💮 Forre⭕tress (National Dex)

Pokemon Forretress

Forretress, like Yanmega, is crippled primarily in its lack of availability prior to the post-game. Unlike Yanmega, however, its utility in post-game matches is more clearly-defined. Forretress' Defense stat is an incredulous 140, making it far and away one of the highest you'll find outside of legendaries.

HP and Special Defense, on the other hand, are fair and mediocre, respectively. Its second best stat is Attack, which is a tad surprising for something so physically bulky and nicely allows for a few good smacks to Forrtress' foes whilst while the "Bagworm Pokemon" does what it does best. And in case it isn't obvious what that is, it's tanking to soak up physical damage while setting rivals up for the fall.

Toxic, Spikes, or heck, even Toxic Spikes will harm opposing Pokemon upon switch-in. You won't see many trainers switching between Pokemon in the main game, but it's a lot more common at the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Battle Tower and most assuredly online. Works out swell, doesn't it? Forretress won't show up until it's truly needed most. Consider taking advantage of its secondary Steel typing with Gyro Ball, a move that does more damage the slower the user is relative to the target. Forretress' Speed is a paltry 40, so basically, watch out Aerodactyl. Forretress is here to send you back to the Stone Age.

2 ܫ Scizor (National Dex)

Pokemon BDSP Scizor

You're probably growing tired of seeing "National Dex" by now, but instead of straightforwardly bad news, there's good and bad news for Scizor fans. It's technically possible to evolve Scyther into Scizor long before the credits roll, providing players with a powerful Bug/Steel Pokemon early on. Unfortunately, the method requires some patience. Possibly a lot of pati♚ence.

Scyther evolves into Scizor via trading with another player while equipped with the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Metal Coat. The easy way to obtain one involves snagging it at Iron Island, but the area it's in cannot be accessed prior to receiving the National Dex. However, the Grand Underground houses both Bronzor and Magnemite. Very rarely, these two can hold Metal Coats in random encounters. You can either catch a bunch until fortune rears its welcome head or keep trying to pluck one off with Thief.

Either way, or even if you choose to hold off that guaranteed Metal Coat is accessible, Scizor makes for a fine Bug-type in BDSP. Attack and Defense are its staple stats, with passable numbers for everything else sans Special Defense. Swarm is an interesting ability that boosts Bug attacks by 50 percent when Scizor's HP is low. X-Scissor's base power then jumps from 80 to 120 and will only ever miss if an opponent's lowered Scizor's accuracy or heightened their own Pokemon's evasiveness.

By the way, Bug/Steel is so routinely praised specifically for its defensive prowess. Let's go over the goods. It has one weakness, which is Fire. Granted, that's a double weakness. Even Ember will hurt poor Scizor something dire. And yet, it's resistant to — take a deep breath — Normal, Bug, Steel, Grass, Psychic, Ice, Dragon, and Fairy. Poison doesn't do a thing. That's just plain insectoid lawlessness.

1 Heracross🦹 (Sinnoh Dex)

Bug Type Move Megahorn Ash's Heracross Horn Attack Pokemon Anime

Here it is, the premium Pokemon in our shortest installment of Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:type lists. Heracross is a Bug/Fighting scarab just itching for a scrape. Its rarity betrays its revelatory capability. It's got a horn and it's not afraid to use it. You get the idea.

First, don't try to make Heracross a special-based attacker. Just don't do this thing. Its Special Attack stat is 40. That's like catching a Snorlax and training it to be awake at all times. It's asking for problems. Instead, double down on Heracross' impeccable 125 Attack. Either of its two main abilities, Moxie or Guts, is a perfect partner; the former raises Attack by 50 percent if it's under the influence of status afflictions while the latter boosts Attack by one stage every time Heracross knocks out an opponent's active Pokemon. Expect that to happen often.

Megahorn is what Heracross was made for. 120 base power with STAB rocketing it up to 180. Now just imagine doing that to a Psychic- or Dark-type Pokemon. An attack of 360 isn't fighting. It's Fight Club. Top it off with Swords Dance and such devastation is absolutely Heracross' intention.

The one sizable downside to Heracross is finding the darn thing in the first place. It has a very low spawn rate in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Honey Trees, so🔜 ꦿplenty of players skip out on the bloodthirsty beetle altogether.
