This is part 22 of our official Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl complete guide and walkthrough, which picks up right after you beat Elite Four Aaron in the Pokemon League. Your next opponent is Elite Four Bertha.

While Aaron specialises in Bug Pokemon, Bertha’s affinity is for Ground-types. Like Aaron before her, most of her Pokemon - if not all of them - can be swept if you manage to play your cards right. In fact, if you adhere to this guide, there’s a good chance you’ll only have to devote one of your six par♚ty slots to taking down Elite Four Bertha.

First, howe🐽ver, let’s take a look at her team:

  • Quagsire level 55
  • Whiscash level 55
  • Sudowoodo level 56
  • Golem level 56
  • Hippowdon level 59
Here's how to beat Elite Four Bertha in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl.

Before we talk about counters, it’s imp🗹ortant to point out the main threats Bertha poses. At least three of her Pokemon carry Earthquake, which is particularly frightening when you consider a) its base power of 100 and b) that four of her Pokemon have access to it as a STAB move. Earthquake is capable of annihilating pretty much anything it hits even neutrally, so you’ll want to make use of the fact that Bertha’s Pokemon are pretty slow to make sure they don’t get a chance to use it against you.

If you chose Turtwig at the start of the game, this fight should be a walk in Pal Park for you. Grass moves are super effective against all five of Bertha’s Pokemon and do a whopping 4x damage a👍gainst thr🅰ee of them - Quagsire, Whiscash, and Golem. Given your typing, Hippowdon’s Earthquake also won’t one-shot you, meaning you can easily tear through Bertha’s team and top yourself up with a Hyper Potion before pressing onto the next battle as good as new.

If you chose Chimchar or Piplup, things are still looking pretty good for you. Several times in this walkthrough, I’ve mentioned just how powerful Roserade is in Gen 4. Its monstrous Speed and Special Attack stats combined with its access to Giga Drain allow it to easily one-shot Bertha’s first two Pokemon. After this, even if you take damage, you’ll be regaining so much from massive Giga Drains that you can almost negate it. The only thing you have to watch out for with Roserade is an Earthquake. Unless you’re a significantly higher level than Bertha's Pokemon, you’re inevitably going to get wiped in one hit. If this is the case and you have no other Grass or Water-type Pokemon in your party, you’re probably going to be in for a pretty rough time.

Speaking of which, Empoleon, Gyarados, and Floatzel are also excellent picks for the Bertha fight. Given Gyarados’ massive utility in g𝄹eneral, I’d nearly label it as a must pick for your team during your first Elite Four run. It won’t one-shot Quagsire or Whiscash, but it can make mincemeat of Bertha’s other three Pokemon as well as half of both Flint and Lucian’s teams. What’s more, a high-level Gyarados who gets 🌟off a Dragon Dance or two is a more than capable counter to Cynthia’s infamous Garchomp. Torterra and Roserade are hands down the best Pokemon for taking on Bertha, but if you’d rather go without a Grass type, Gyarados is a great alternative.

Now that you know how to take on Bertha, let’s move on to part 23 of our complete Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl walkthrough: 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:how to beat Elite Four Flint.
