This is part 23 of our official Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl complete guide and walkthrough, which picks up right after you beat Elite Four Bertha in the Pokemon League. Your next opponent is Elite Four Flint.
Flint is just as fiery as his choice in Pokemon would suggest. His team is stacked with heavy hitters and he’s got a huge amount of type coverage, meaning there’s a fairly good chance you’ll end up sending in a Pokemon who you think is the right pi🃏ck before being forced to watch it faint after it&r꧂squo;s smacked with an unexpected super-effective hit. Put plainly, Flint is a bit infuriating.
Before we talk str༺ategy, though, let’s take a peek at Flint’s team:
- Rapidash level 58
- Steelix level 57
- Lopunny level 57
- Driflblim level 58
- Infernape level 61
Given that Flint leads with Rapidash, you’l🌄l probably want to roll out the gate with either a Water- or Ground-type Pokemon. If you’ve been following our walkthrough up until now, y𒁏ou’ll know that I’ve already suggested Gyarados as one of the best possible Pokemon you can bring to the Pokemon League. Given that a Gyarados can super-effectively hit four of Flint’s ‘mons with Crunch and Waterfall alone, I’d like to think that point holds true.
Other decent picks for this fight include Rhyperior, Palkia, Empoleon, Floatzel, and Golem, alth𓆉ough it’s worth remembering that Rhyperior and Golem will likely be outsped and hit with Earthquake by Infernape. Don’t think you can get away with just sending a Flying-type like Staraptor in against Infernape either - it carries Thunder Punch, because of course it 𓄧does.
Aside from Infernape, Flint’✨s team is a bit meh once you know how to handle it. Again, he’ll hit you hard if you make a mistake, but if you follow our advice that isn’t going to happen. As long as you lead with Gyarados, Palkia, or Floatzel, you’ll be able to take out Flint’s first two Pokemon without much trouble at all. Lopunny will go down in a single hit to a high-powered Fighting move like Close Combat - which at least one of your Pokemon should be carrying - and Drifblim is weak to Ghost, Dark, Ice, Electric, and Rock. I mean, surely someone in your party has a damage-dealing move that corresponds to at least one of those types, right?
And so, again, the only problem is Infernape. If you’re playing Shining Pearl and have Palkia in your party, this should be a breeze. You resistꦫ all of Infernape’s moves and can likely one-shot it with a Water move of your choice. If you&🐈rsquo;re running Gyarados, Floatzel, or Staraptor, you’ll be able to one-shot it alright, but it can also do serious damage to you with Thunder Punch, so it depends on the level economy and how bulky your Defense stat is.
Alternatively, you can be really cheeky 🅠and catch a Bagon in the new Grand Underground Hideaways. Once you evolve it into Salamence, it will be able to make quick work of Infernape and will come in dead handy against Cynthia’s Garchomp later on. If you want to leave the National ‘Dex for the postgame, most of the counters above work. If you’re willing to assimilate a bit of Hoenn into your team though… Well, let’s just say you could do much worse than Salamence.
Once you’ve beaten Flint, it’s time to move on to part 24 of our complete Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl walkthrough: 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:how to beat Elite Four Lucian.
