This is part four of our official Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl complete guide and walkthrough, which picks up right after earning your first gym badge from Roark in Oreburgh City. From here, we need to make our way to Floaroma Town via the Ravaged Path in order to take down Team Galactic at Valley Windworks.
Once you’ve smoothed things over with Roark after steamrolling him for the Coal Badge, it’s time to head back towards Oreburgh Gate on the western end of the city. Now that you have access to Rock Smash, you can go north in the middle of the cave and head down the stairs to an area filled with items. Unfortunately, most of the stuff here isn’t obtainable until you get the Bike and wild encounters can be a real pain in the Arceus, so I us🍸ually don’t bother until later on in the game.
Instead, head back out towards ✨Jubilife and go north towards route 204. Before 𒐪you reach the route, you’ll see Professor Rowan and his assistant having a run-in with two Team Galactic grunts. Together with either Lucas or Dawn, you need to take them down as a mandatory part of the main story.
Once you’ve sufficiently trounced the Galactic goons, continue towards the northernmost point of the ro𒈔ute, where you&rওsquo;ll find the Ravaged Path we spoke about in part two of the walkthrough. Now that you’ve mastered the ability of forcing wild Pokemon to smash rocks for you, you can finally make your way through the cave and access the upper level of Route 204. From here, it’s a straight shot to Floaroma Town, a tranquil little haven of meadows and flowerbeds where everything seems perfectly lovely. Unfortunately, what initially appears to be a short pitstop before braving the wilds of Eterna Forest quickly becomes something far more sinister - as it turns out, the Galactic goons are at it again.
After reaching Floaroma Town, the only way you can go is east towards a factory known as Valley Windworks. On your way there, you&rsq🐷uo;ll bump into a little girl who claims her father is in danger. Continue east to Valley Windworks and take down the Gala🐻ctic grunt guarding the door, who - in true sore loser fashion - will start sulking and lock himself inside. Part of a big scary villain team, aye? You look well hard.
Go back to Floaroma Town and walk towards the northwest of the city, where a passage previously guarded by a pair of Team Galactic grunts will now be open. Move through to Floaroma Meadow and you’ll see these very same grunts have started to harass a honey maker. As is typical of a Pokemon game, your job is to beat them up and save the honey man, who will then shockingly reward you with♍ Honey. More important, however, is the fact the grunts somehow manage to drop their Valley Windworks key in their frenzy to run away. I think you can probably guess what’s next.
Head back to Valley Windworks, unlock the door with a satisfying “ker-chunk!”, and defeat all of the Team Galactic grunts inside until you come up against Commander Mars. While beating her isn't impossible, fighting against her Purugly is pure ugly. In order to do some real damage, you'll probably want either a Monferno or Machoke to land super-effective Fighting moves on it.
Once you beat Mars, the route to Eterna Forest will no longer be cordoned off by a bunch of eejits from Team Galactic. You’ll also be told about a mysterious Balloon Pokemon, who turns out to be Drifloon.
