While it isn't uncommon for modern games to have some kind of beta release, particularly when it comes to live service games like 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Anthem and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Marvel's Avengers, it's unusual for players to ever get their hands on beta versions of single-player focused games. This is particularly the case when it comes to Nintendo 🧜titles, as the gamin෴g company likes to keep things very close to the chest.
While demo versions of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Legend of Zelda and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokémon have been floating around for years, which have wildly different mechanics or artwork compared to the final release, several beta aspects still exist in those games, though they take some serious data mining to get to. One of those games is 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, which showed not only some changes to the map and ✱music, but also to some of the Pokémon.
10 🍷 Black & White Font 🌸
In the beta for Diamond and Pearl, the Japanese text is slightly different from how it looks in the finished product, though some eagle-eyed fans noticed some similarities to the next installments in the series, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Black and White. It would seem as though Game Freak decided to scrap the Japanese font for Diamond and Pearl, only to then bring it back in 🐟the final version of the 🅺generation eight games.
9 ❀ Registeel's Unfortunate Pose
Several changes were made in production to the design of certain Pokémon's static poses, as was normally the case before 3D models were used. One of these changes, which might have concerned some fans of the series, was that of the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:legendary Registeel, whose static ﷽pose looked a little too much like a certain salute from the Nazi's. Naturally, this was changed before the games were released and fans only discovered this version of Registeel years later.
8 ꦇ Be🍎ta Sprites
Beta designs for Pokémon are nothing new, with there being dozens floating around the internet from generation one and two. One of the most well known of recent years is the early design of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Shellos and Gastrodon, which would become one of the first Pokémon to ever have a regional variant, even if it w🉐as within the sam🐬e generation.
Early designs of Shellos seem to take some aspects from both the East and West Sea versions of the Pokémon, while Gastrodon is only barely recognizable with its stoney body wildly different from the squishy version known to fans today. 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Garchomp line also had some radical changes in its coloration and overall design from the beta ve🍎rsion to the final release.
7 Character💞 Model Changes
It's not uncommon for trainer classes to have different designs with each generation, as they are often reflective of the Pokémon native to that region as well as the overall aesthetics of the area. Some of the character models that went through several redesigns were those of the Camper, Picnicker, and Pokékid trainers, as well as the player characters and rivals. There is also an alternative version of the Sis and Bro trainer class, which has a male Swimmer and female Tuber, though that trainer class never appeared in Diamond and Pearl.
6 🦹 Map Changes
Like character sprites, certain maps for the Sinnoh region also underwent several changes before the games were released. Spear Pillar, a central part of the map connected to the plot of the game and Team Plasma's end goal, has a prototype map within the game code, but without the entrance leading from Mt. Coronet and no way to access it outside of rom hacks. There is also an earlier version of the Great Marsh area which has no NPC's, trainers, or Pokémon, as well as an unused 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokémon Center room called the Record Corner.
5 𒁃 Pokétch D🥀esign
Returning in Diamond and Pearl was another variation of the Pokégear seen in Gold and Silver, the Pokétch, which functions in much the same way as its generation two counterpart though with a touch screen interface. While not drastically different, there is an early design of the Pokétch which doesn't have a Pikachu on the clock screen, as well as only having one button as opposed to two in the final design. Its coloration is also slightly different, being black and blue while the final design is the signature red and white that is fairly common with technology in Pokémon.
4 ﷽ Roaming Darkrai
Roaming Legendary Pokémon have been around since 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Gold and Silver being both n𓂃ice distractions from normal gameplay while also infuriating players who can't seem to nail down the Pokémon they are looking for. ꧟One of those legendary Pokémon who was nearly also a roaming Pokémon was Darkrai.
There is code in the final game for a roaming Darkrai event to take place, though there is no way to trigger it without using rom hacks or a cheating device. This﷽ was likely due to the growing frustration from players who found it difficult to track down roaming legendar🃏ies, as they have only returned in the Johto and Hoenn remakes.
3 🧸 Carried Over Items 🐬
It's not uncommon for Game Freak to use the preceding game as a template when creating their newest Pokémon game, which means that sometimes items or buildings are left in the game that are never used. Some of these items that are present in Diamond and Pearl, which aren't accessible or useful, is the S.S. Ticket and Contest Pass from 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Ruby and Sapphire and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:FireRed and LeafGreen respectfully, sin♉ce there is no S.S. Anneꦉ nor need for a Contest Pass in Sinnoh.
2 💯 ??? Type Arceus
The legendary Pokémon Arceus marked the first time🙈 that a Pokémon could change its type at the drop of a hat, as equipping it with one of the elemental Plate itꦚems would change its type while holding said item. In the beta and game's code, there is a sprite for the ???-type Arceus, a type that only exists on the move Curse. As there is no ??? Plate in any game so far, it is likely to have been a placeholder sprite for Arceus' forms, either shiny or regular.
1 ꧙ Music Changes
The Pokémon serಌies often changes music between regions, most often to reflect the overall design of the region like the trainer sprites. While some music is simply a variation of an older track, there are some new tracks that were altered before the game's release. Some of these changes include the main title theme as well as an entirely unused version of the wild encounter music.
