Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl are slated to come out later this year. They are remakes of the Generation IV titles, Diamond & Pearl. They are looking to update the titles in sev💞eral ways to make them suited for the current generation of Pokemon games, Sword & Shield.
Historically, this involves graphics updates, changing up the storyliꦦne of the games in some ways, and making the games compatible with every Pokemon that has released since the games initially came out--a concept more complicated with the way the lack of a National Pokedex in Swꦫord & Shield. There are several lessons that Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl can take from Sword & Shield, both in terms of things the games did right and what the games did wrong. Here are 10 things the Gen IV remakes can learn from Sword & Shield.
10 🌟 Don't Skimp On The Small Stuff
This is a simple one, as it's easy to say not to cut corners or put no effort in on small details♋ in a videogame. However, it's true nonetheless. Players notice the ꦬsmall things that were either left out or not really improved upon compared to previous games.
Among the things that wereꦉ criticized in Pokemon Sword & Shield was the seeming lack of major graphical improvements, interesting attack animations, and the short draw-distance in the overworld🅠. Players notice that kind of thing.
9 ꧅ Messing With The Formula Isn't Always Bad
Pokemon Sun & Moon and Sword & Shield tinke✱red with the traditional Pokemon formula of Gym Leaders and Elite Four. Sun & Moon had the Captains and Kahunas💞, and Sword & Shield replaced the Elite Four with a more traditional tournament format.
All of this is to say that Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl should be able to stray froꦡm some of the Pokemon norms. While the core story of Team Galactic, Professor Rowan, Barry, and Dawn should still be there, there are parts of the old story that could be replaced.
8 🌠 Music Matꦯters
Pokemon Sword & Shield took a lot of heat from devoted Pokemon fans for several reaso♈ns. While the game had an overall positive reception, players did notice some cracks in the foundations.
One thing that almost everyone agreed praised, however, was the music. The Gym Leader Battle Theme in particular is widely beloved. Diamond, Pearl, & Platinum all had great music, but they are older tunes for a less powerful console. The Gen III remakes, Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, did a good job in upgrad♑ing its tracks (Sootopolis City, Rayquaza, and Wally all had great themes), so Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl should make sure to do the same. Th🍬e Lake Pokemon music could especially be made incredible with a remake.
7 Every Pokemon Is Somebody's Favorite Pokemon 𒉰
Dexit has been hashed and rehashed to death, so there isn't much purpose in going over the criticisms for not bringing back all prior Pokemon to Generation VIII. It's not likely that the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:remaining 234 Pokemon are going to be brought back with Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl (though it could be possible with Legend of Ar🀅ceus).
It is unclear if Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl will have its own Pokedex list𒅌ings with the full Galar and Expansions Pokedex on top of that. The only thing that can really be said is that the more Pokemon in the Gen IV remakes, the better.
6 💎 Players Miss The Mega Evolutions ♔
168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Each post-Generation VI game has ha🌟d its own replacement for Mega Evolutions, whether it be Z-Moves or Dynamax/Gigantamax. It's not really clear wh🔜y Mega Evolutions were taken out, though some posit it was due to balancing issues in the metagame. However, Dynamax/Gigantamax isn't even allowed in most metagame formats.
The Mega Stones were found in the code of Sword & Shield through datamin💦ing, and Mega Evolution has been added to spinoff games such as Pokemon Masters and Pokemon Go. It seems like doꦍesn't want people to completely forget Mega Evolutions, so there is a possibility they could still come back in the Gen IV remakes.
5 The People Should Be Memorablܫe Too
Sword & Shield did an excellent job𒁃 of making memoꦛrable characters, whether it be Go and Leon, Master Mustard on the Isle of Armor, or Peony in the Crown Tundra. Even its Gym Leaders, such as Gordy, Milo, Nessa, and Bea are easily recalled.
Barry, Dawn, and Professor Rowan were suitably memorable, but most of the Gen IV Gym Leaders outside of Crasher Wake, Roark, 🌊and Fantina fade from memory over time. The Sinnoh Gym Leaders could be given more personality to give them a leg up.
4 There Are Only So Many Times You Can Monetꦫize A Playerbase
168澳洲幸🥂运5开奖网:Getting the f🧸ull Generation VIII Pokemon experience has been pretty expensive so far. In addition to the base game of Sword & Shield, a player w𓃲ould have to purchase the Expansion Pass, a Nintendo Online subscription, and a Pokemon Home subscription. Admittedly, the expansions are cheaper for the player than doing something like Ultrജa Sun & Ultra Moon or Black 2 & White 2.
There's also the energy used to transfer Pokemon between Pokemon Go and Pokemon Home, which can be recharged with Pokecoins that can be purchased with real-world money. All of this is to say that it would be nice if 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl didn't🍃 have any additional monetary strings attached.
3 🔴 Post-Game Content Is Important
Without the expansions, Sword &💮; Shield is really lacking when it comes to things to do after becoming the Champion. This is disappointing, as Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon and Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire had some really killer post-game content.
Diamond, Pearl, & Platinum had some solid post-game content in the🌌ir original run, but even that could be built upon with the remakes. Pokemon usually shines in post-ga🃏me content, and these remakes should remind players of that.
2 🍸 Pokemon Can Be A Solo🅰 Experience
168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokemon games have always had multiplayer options and benefits in the game from interacting with other play🤡ers. However, with Dynamax Raids and the scarcity of Gigantamax form Pokemon in the initial release, Sword & Shield really pushed pla🦩yers to keep the game online (which often caused some lag) and team up with other players for otherwise impossible five-star Dynamax raids.
Pokemon can be a solo experience, and there's nothing wrong with a player wanting to keep their Pokemon single-player. 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Gen IV remakes should remember that.
1 🐈 Don't Rush I🐲t
There was some postulation that ওSword & Shield felt rushed, and it's im൲possible to say whether or not that is truly the case.
What can be said is that the Gen IV remakes shouldn't be rushed. The developer team should take all the time needed to make these games right. If there ends up being delays to make sure the developer teams aren't subject to intense pressure or just to make sure everything comes out right, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:most loyal Pokemon players will understand and accept that.
