As the latest gimmick battle mechanic in the Pokemon series, Dynamax was a pretty good attempt at fixing the problems faced by 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Mega Evolution and Z-Moves while still imple⛎menting a method for players to superchar♋ge their Pokemon.
While the history and lore of the Dynamax mechanic is fairly well explained, there are several aspects that don't make much sense in various contexts🌟 and raise more questions about the mechanic overall than are answered during the dozens of hours of gameplay.
10 𝄹 Zacian, Zamazenta, and Eternatus
The cover 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:legendary Pokemon and their long time rival, Eternatus, are unique among most other Pokemon in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Sword & Shield, as they are the only Pokemon in the game that can't Dynamax or Gigantamax. There is no reason given for this limitation, and it is even less sensical for Eternatus as it has its own unique form of Dyanamx, Eternamax, that players have to bꩲattle at the end of the game. This was probably just🐲 an attempt to make the final battle against Eternatus more challenging, but it is one aspect of the game that could have done with some explaining.
9 ဣ The Three Turn Limᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚit
In terms of balancing a new battle mechanic, limiting a Pokemon's Dynamax transformation to three turns makes sense from a gameplay perspective. However, this limit makes less sense from a game world perspective, particularly since the anime counterpart lacks this limitation and all wild Dynamax encounters also lack this time limit. This seems to be a large oversight on 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Game Freak and The Pokemon Company's part since they w♊ent through all the trouble of explaining the phenomenon itself but not why there is a soft limit on its duration.
8 The Dynamax Band 𓂃
This key item is given to the player almost immediately after starting their adventure, being crafted from a Wishing Star, a fragment of Eternatus' body, and allowing trainers to use the Dynamax mechanic wheneve🧸r they are near a Power Spot. This seems to be a stand-in for the Mega Ring and Z-Ring, but it also raises questions about how wild Pokemon can Dynamax.
There are seemingly no Dynamax Bands inside Max Raid dens, so there seems to be no trigger꧋ for the Dynamax transformation other than close proximity to a Power Spot, which raise🌞s the question of why players need the Dynamax Band in the first place.
7 Gigantamax Forms ꦆ
Just to make sure some Pokemon are more special than others, Sword & Shield not only gives the player the ability to Dynamax any Pokemon but also allows several Pokemon to 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Gigantamax instead, which changes their form and allows them to use different Max moves in the form of G-♋Max moves. While this has actually done a lot to breathe new life into old Pokemon like Lapras and Butterfree due to how go൩od their G-Max Moves are, there isn't a real reason given as to why certain Pokemon can have this form while others can't. This was made even more confusing when Max Soup was introduced, which allowed the Galar starters to gain their own Gigantamax form despite none of them being found in the wild.
6 🎃Move Interactions ♈
It seems like several aspects of Dynamax and Max Raid battles were only put in place to make them more difficult witho🔯ut thinking about how to implement🐻 them properly. Moves like Grass Knot, Heavy Slam, and Low Kick, which should do considerable or negligible damage depending on which is used on a Dyanamax Pokemon will instead fail 100% of the time. There is also the question of why multi-hit moves, which should break more than one shield in a Max Raid battle, only break one no matter how many times the move hits.
5 ♚ One-Hit Moves and Destiny Bond
Another type of attack that doesn't work on Dynamax Pokemon is OHKO moves or guaranteed KO moves like Destiny Bond. Like with weight-based attacks and multi-hit attacks, this seems to have only been a restriction put in place to make Max Raid🌞 battles harder without finding a way to implement them into the battles at all. Considering how powerful these moves are, often at the trade-off of having very low accuracy, they should have been able to at least take a decent chunk of HP off of a Dynamax Pokemon rather than the move always failing. For now, there is no in-world reason as to why certain attacks don't work on a Pokemon while it is Dynanmaxed.
4 Calyrex🔥 and The Blue Aura 🦩
One of the newest legendary Pokemon introduced in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Crown Tundra and the main focus of most of the latest expansions story is on Calyrex and its two steeds, Glastrier and Spectrier. Aside from having fused forms with its steeds that change both its stats and typing, Calyrex and its fused forms are the only Pokemon in𝐆 the game with blue aura rather than red when Dynamaxed.
There is no in-world reason given for this and is, in fact, never brought up by the characters in the game. The only way players will learn about this quirk is if they✤ attempt to Dynamax any of the Calyrex forms themselves, which not all players will do.
3 Barriers
Just like with certain attacks not working on Dynamax Pokemon not making much sense, the fact that higher level Max Raids will have Pokemon that produce barriers is also never explained. From a gameplay perspective, 🤡this makes sense to ensur♈e that high-level Max Raids aren't beaten too easily at level 100, but with the introduction of Dyanamax Adventures, this feature raises an important question. None of the Pokemon found inside Dynamax Adventures will produce a barrier at certain HP thresholds, despite the fact that there are many legendary Pokemon found within and are apparently weaker than regular Dynamaxed Pokemon.
2 Max Soup
The introduction of Max Soup in The Isle of Armor was a nice quality of life change for players who were struggling to find all of the Gigantamax forms in the game, especially since several were version exclusive. The problem with Max Soup comes when trying to explain how and why it works in the first place, since until it was introduced, it seemed as though the Pokemon who would have a Gigantamax form were simply stronger variations of their own species rather than having simply eaten a few wild 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Max Mushrooms in their life.
1 Max Moves
One of the strangest aspects of Dyanamax Pokemon is the fact that their Max moves are always the same, no matter which Pokemon uses a certain attack or whether it is a physical or special attack. Max Airstream based on Hu🌃rricane has the exact same animation as one based on Acrobatics, despite the fact that both moves are wildly different in both form and design. This also raises the question of why some G-Max moves are so different from their regular counterparts and why others are almost identical in appearance with only minor effects given when executed.
