Since the series' first generation, certain species of Pokemon have mimicked the animals and objects we see in our everyday lives. These can include adorable 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokemon that resemble animals, such as Pikachu, and even those that resemble inan🐭imate objects (the keyr♍ing-esque Klefki for instance). However, one intriguing theme that has persisted since the inception of Pokemon is the incorporation of real-life foods into the designs of these pocket monsters.

𒈔 Pokemon: 20 Most Powerful Food-Based 🐽Pokemon

It ܫseems like Pokemon can be based on anything — even food. And these food-based Pokemon can be surprisingl𝐆y powerful.

Applin falls into this category, as it is a worm-like Pokemon that buries itself into an apple from the moment it’s born. Its dual typing of Grass and Dragon places it as a Pokemon of great potential. Applin's intrigue comes from its unusual evolutionaಌry chain, which is akin to Eevee’s, allowing it to evolve into different Pokemon based on specific conditions. We've ranked each of its forms based on their battle prowess, providing some guidance on using each one too.

4 Dipplin

A Middle-Stage Evolution That Can Be Very Useful With An Eviolite Equipped

Base Stats:

  • HP: 80
  • Attack: 80
  • Defense: 110
  • Special Attack: 95
  • Special Defense: 80
  • Speed: 40

Unlike its other evolutions, Dipplin closely resembles Applin, and acts as the middle stage evolution between Applin and Hydrapple. It was first introduced in Generation Nine, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, and is obtainable by exposing your Applin to a Syrupy Apple. This item is similar to a Thunder Stone, in that it will 🏅automatically evolve your Pokemon.

Note that the Syrupy Apple, like all such evolution items, can only be used once an💜d will be expended after the evoluꩵtion has taken place.

While Dipplin can learn a variety of STAB moves just by levelling up, or double the amount through TMs, it’s better known for its defensive capabilities. To make Dipplin as competitive as it can be, you’ll want to increase its tankiness. You can do this by giving it an Eviolite, which will increase its Defense and Special Defense stats by 50 percent. You will generally want to pair this with Dipplin’s Hidden Abiඣlity, Sticky Hold, as that will prevent its Eviolite being taken by other Pokemon in battle.

Dipplin can be quite the defensive heavyweight when holding Eviolite, but it's very slow and has rather lacking offenses.

Recommended Nature: Modest

Dragon Pulse

Energy Ball

Recover

Syrup Bomb

3 Appletun

Solid All-Around Stats With Great Secret Weapons

Base Stats:

  • HP: 110
  • Attack: 85
  • Defense: 80
  • Special Attack: 100
  • Special Defense: 80
  • Speed: 30

Added to the roster in Generation Eight, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokemon Sword & Shield, Appletun is one of Applin’s three branched evolutions. You can obtain one by using a Sweet Apple to evolve your Applin.🅠 While it may look like a goofy, friendly, sentient apple pie, Appletun is actually quite a fierce Pokemon. In contrast to Flapple’s Attack and Speed leaning and Dipplin’s defensive ability, Appletun’s base stats are aimed towards being an all-rounder.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet: 6 Best Newಞ🙈 Pokemon Moves In The Indigo Disk

For some fans, newly🌃-introduced moves are a big part of the excitement behi🎀nd new Pokemon games and DLCs. Indigo Disk has some real winners.

Appletun is perhaps better used as a physically defensive kind of Pokemon. This means you’ll want to be able to take down Pokemon with it, but also have Appletun tanky enough to take some hits. The Hidden Ability Thick Fat is perfect here, as it will halve the damage of🍬 Fire- and Ice-type moves used against it (the Ice resistance is particularly important as Appletun is 4x weak to these attacks). With the item Eject Pack, it can be used as a one-time pivot, delivering a powerful blow with Draco Meteor, which is particularly effective when coupled with a preceding use of Apple Acid (a powerful Grass-type move that cuts the Special Defense of the target) as it executes the pivot.

Recover is a huge boon for Applin, though its super-slow Speed limits the chances it'll get to use it. Appletun doesn't excel in any one area, but it does boast nicely rounded stats. Unconventional strategies like Trick Room offense can also turn its biggest weakness into an advantage, though this is difficult to pull off consistently and requires a lot of support.

Recommended Nature: Bold

Recommended Moveset:

Apple Acid

Body Press

Draco Meteor

Recover

2 Flapple

A Potentially Powerful Physical Attacker That Requires Difficult Setup

Base Stats:

  • HP: 70
  • Attack: 110
  • Defense: 80
  • Special Attack: 95
  • Special Defense: 60
  • Speed: 70

Also introduced alongside Applin as one of its evolutions in Sword & Shield, Flapple leans into its Dragon typing by taking on the appearance of a lizard with shards of apple for wings. To acquire a Flapple, you must use a Tart Apple on your Applin.

Flapple’s stats are geared more towards a physical attacking role. For this꧑ reason, its Hidden Ability, Hustle, is probably its best option. This will increase its Attack at the expense of reducing the accuracy of its moves. Flapple is also capable of Gigantamaxing in Sword & Shield (just like Appletun), and in this state, its HP is boosted. The primary aim with Flapple is to u🐲se Dragon Dance whenever the opportunity presents itself, buffing its average Speed and increasing its damage output further.

The optimal item to equip it with is a Life Orb. This item enhances the strength of Flapple's moves, albeit at the cost of consuming some of its HP with each hit. It has the potential to be a very dangerous sweeper, but its frailty and numerous weaknesses make it difficult for it to perform at its best.

Recommended Nature: Jolly

Grav Apple

1 Hydrapple

Applin's Only Third-Stage Evolution Is A Unique And Powerful Pokemon

Base Stats:

  • HP: 106
  • Attack: 80
  • Defense: 110
  • Special Attack: 120
  • Special Defense: 80
  • Speed: 40

Hydrapple stands out as it’s the only stage-three evolution of Applin. It was first introduced in Generation Nine, in the Scarlet & Violet DLC The Indigo Disk (wheܫre lots of powerful Legendary Pokemon can be found). To obtain one, you must first use a Syrupy Apple on your Applin to get a Dipplin, then level up your Dipplin while it knows the move Dragon Cheer. As Dragon Cheer isn’t learned when levelling up naturally, you will have to teach it to your Dipplin wi🧔th TM226. Like all other Applin evolutions, it possesses a x4 weakness to Ice moves. However, because Hydrapple is a secondary evolution, it has 🍎overall higher base stats than all of Applin’s other evolutions.

Due to the ability Regenerator, it becomes a fantastic defensive pivot. This is because Regenerator restores the Pokemon’s max HP by one-third every time it is switched out of battle. To maximize Hydrapple’s brilliant defensive stats, you’ll want to give it a Rocky Helmet. This will punish your opponent's physical Pokemon by applying recoil damage. Alternatively, you could also go with an Eject Pack for immediate switch outs after using Draco Meteor. It can also important that a Hydrapple has zero Speed IVs if you've chosen a mixed set with Gyro Ball, as this will intentionally slow it down to maximize the damage dealt by the move.

The unique move Fickle Beam is also a big asset. It's essentially Dragon Pulse with a 30 percent chance of hitting for double the power. With luck on your side, it's a monstrously powerful STAB move. Hydrapple is new on the scene, but players who can work around its weaknesses and mediocre Speed will find it very potent.
