Ever since it was introduced in Gold and Silver, the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Steel-typing has been dominant. Not only is it the best defensive typing with ten resistances and an immunity, but it is one of the few answers to the powerful Fairy-type. Because of this, the trainers who represent Steel Pokemon are just as powerful.
Seriously, every Steel-type master is either a high ranking Gym Leader, and Elite Four member, or a former Champion, and that's an impressive pedigree. So let's take a look at every trainer that lives up to that Steel name and which ones are rusting in the back.
8 Jasmine
Jasmine is the first Steel-type master introduced in the series and is a fan favorite because of her gentle and kind nature. Despite this, her initial team leaves a lot to be desired. It seems the developers depended on players lacking knowledge of the new type since her team has no answers to any of Steel's weaknesses.
While her rematch team in HeartGold and SoulSilver is actually pretty tough with the likes of Metagross, Empoleon, and Magnezone, there are still some questionable strategies employed by her team. Why do two Pokemon know Gravity, especially when none of them know any Ground-type attacks? Jasmin🅷e is a great character but not the toughest trainer.
7 Rose
Chairman Rose may be one of the most disappointing villains in all of Pokemon. 🦋Not only does his plan seem out of nowhere, but his team of Pokemon leaves a lot to be desired.
To defeat Rose, all you need is 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:a decent Fire-type like Cinderace, Centiscorch, or Zen Mode Galarian Darmanitan if you're feeling cheeky. Even without those, Ground and Fighting-type Pokemon can easily break through his Pokemon. On top of this, none of his Pokemon are particularly strong, with his most intimidating being an offensive Ferrothorn. Rose may be a powerful businessman, but he is pretty forgettable as a trainer.
6 Byron
There are a lot of people out there who consider Byron to be one of the easiest Gym Leaders in the entire franchise, mostly because his team is all about being bulky instead of hitting hard. But people forget that his team has solid answers to each of Steel's weaknesses, especially in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
Byron's Bronzor is immune to Ground attacks and can hit Fighting-types for Super Effective damage. Steelix handles Ground-types with its Sturdy ability, and Ice Fang, and Bastiodon can handle most Fire-types. And frankly, his rematch team is even tougher with Empoleon and Skarmory. However, his Choice Scarf Aggron that only knows Head Smash is... unique.
5 Wikstrom
When you look at the Wikstrom, you already know he's a Steel-type master. How many trainers are out there rocking a whole suit of armor? His team backs up this strong appearance with some really powerful Pokemon like Probopass, Scizor, and Aegislash.
What holᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚds Wikst𒐪rom back is that he never takes full advantage of what his Pokemon have to offer.
Yes, Scizor has the Technician ability, but its moveset never takes advantage of it. And while his team counters some of Steel's weaknesses defensively, he can't really respond back. This is mainly because he only has four Pokemon on his team, a major flaw with all of the Elite Four in X and Y. But none of this detracts from his raw power.
4 Molayne
While most Steel-type trainers seem to be tough, gruff, or stoic, Molayne is none of these. Instead, he is a tech geek who loves machines. This can definitely be seen with his team, which has a lot more robotic-looking Pokemon. And Alolan Dugtrio because he's a loveable dork.
His Elite Four team in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon is pretty strong, with Klefki providing support and a ton of heavy hitters like Metagross, Bisharp, and Magnezone. The downside to his team is that while it can handle Fighting-types pretty well, it can easily be swept with Fire or Ground-type moves. And although his title defense team in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Sun and Moon counters Ground-types with Skarmory and Alolan Sand🐈shrew, they can still be beaten with Fire.
3 Peony
It's interesting to see how bad of a trainer Chairman Rose is because his brother is much more effective while using the exact same type. A loving father, Peony has taken to going on adventures with his daughter (much to her chagrin). And while he's no longer a Gym Leader or the Galarian Champion, his team is still plenty tough.
Peony's team has a great combination of defensive and offensive counters to all of Steel-type's weaknesses, especially with Bronzong, Scizor, and Copperajah. He even has an answer to Ground-types since he taught his Perrserker Seed Bomb. Sure all of his Pokemon aren't the strongest, but they can more than handle any type his opponents would send against him.
2 Colress
Of all the🔴 trainers on this list, Colress was the biggest surprise. A scientist for Team Plasma in Black 2 and White 2, Colress is more neutral than evil since he just wants to do his research. Apparently, he also studied his battle strategy because his team is awesome.
Colress does what no other trainer has done on this list: utilizing more than one type of Pokemon. Although a majority of his team is Steel-type, Colress sports two other Pokemon when you rematch him: the Psychic-type Beheeyem and the Water/Electic-type Rotom-Wash. These are both powerful Pokemon that easily counter all of Steel's weaknesses. Add on Magnezone, Metagross, and Eviolite Magneton, and you have one of the toughest trainers in the whole series.
1 🐷 𝕴 Steven Stone
No one should be surprised by this. Along with Cynthia and Leon, Steven Stone is one of the most recognizable Champions in the series. 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:His classy attire and calm demeanor immediately separa꧋te him from every other trainer out there. He also stands out because of Metagross.
Metagross is one of the strongest pseudo legendaries in Pokemon, and it gets even more powerful when it Mega Evolves. On top of this, his entire team effectively counters the different Steel weaknesses. Whether you're battling him in Meteor Falls or rematching him in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, there is no doubt that Steven Stone is the strongest Steel-type trainer of all time.
