There are a few different evolutionary stones that can be used to evolve certain . Introduced as one of the first 🌟evolution methods that was different from a🦩 simple level-up, evoluti🥀onary stones have existed since the first generation of the series.

A few different stones have been added over 🏅the years, but one of the originals is the Water Stone. This glittering blue gem can be used to evolve a small group of Water-type Pokémon, more than half of which are from the first generation. Here's a list of all the Pokémon that evolve with a Water Stone, in no particular order.

6 𝔍 ♉ Poliwhirl To Poliwrath

Poliwhirl is one of the lucky few Pokémon that actually has more than one possible evolution. Interestingly, both evolutions require the use of an item. In Generation I, Poliwhirl had its first and only evolution: Poliwrath. It will evolve into this Water/Fighting-type when exposed to aꦆ Water Stone.

In Generation II, Poliwhirl was given a second evolution, Politoed. Pಌolitoed can be obtained by trading a Poliwhirlඣ that holds a King's Rock. These two different items can induce two drastically different evolutions. Not many Pokémon can boast that!

5 Shellder To Cloyster 𝕴

There are a few different Pokémon in Generation I that start as a pure Water-type and then gain an additional type af💎ter evolving. Shelld💟er is just one of them, starting as a Water-type and becoming a dual Water/Ice-type when it evolves into Cloyster.

Like other Pokémon on this list, in o🍬rder to make this evolution happen, you'll have to expose your Shellder to a Water Stone. After evolving, that Pokémon Cloyster is actually tied with a Mega Evolution, Mega Slowbro, for the highest defense stat of any Water-type, which makes sense because in the anime, a Slowpoke evolves into a Slowbro once a Shellder clamps onto its tailౠ, implying a strong connection between the two Pokémon. At a whopping 180 base defense, you'll definitely want to find a Water Stone to evolve that Shellder.

4 Staryu To Star🍰mie🧔

Another Generation I Water-type that gains an additional type upon evolution is Staryu. This starfish-like Pokémon will gain the Psychic-type after evolving into Starmie, which happens when it's exp✃osed to a Water Stone. Interestingly, Starmie utilizes this Psychic-typing (presumably) as it sends electric waves of communication into space for an unknown reason.

Differing from Cloyster, the last entry on this list, Starmie excels in special a෴ttack and speed. It's a very fast Pokémon, with a base speed of 115. Add a base🐽 special attack stat of 100, and this starfish is going to pack a wallop real fast when used properly.

3 ♒ 𒈔 Eevee To Vaporeon

There are currently eight total possible evolutions for Eevee, one of the most iconic and popular Pokémon in 🅺existence. It can be hard to keep track of all of the ways it can evolve, especially since some of them have changed, like Leafeon and Glaceon's evolution methods. One of the evolution methods for Eevee that hasn't changed, though, is via a Water Stone.

When exposed to a Water Stone, Eevee will evolve into Vaporeon, a pure Water-type. This evolution, plus the evolution🐻 into Flareon via Fire Stone and Jolteon via Thunder Stone, is one of the least complicated and least difficult evolutions for Eevee. Just find a Water Stone and use it, and you've got yourself a Vaporeon; it's as simple as that.

2 Lombre To Ludi﷽colo ಞ

The Lotad family is seen as a counterpart to the Seedot family. Both are Gra✱ss-type (but the Lotad evolution is Water/ꦓGrass) and undergo their first evolution at level 14. Plus, they're found in similar places and often act as version exclusives in opposite games. While Seedot's evolution, Nuzleaf, uses a Leaf Stone to evolve into its final form, Lotad's evolution, Lombre, evolves with a Water Stone. After evolving, that Pokémon becomes Ludicolo, a dancing Water/Grass-type.

These Pokémon are theoretically based on the Japanese creature Kappa, w༺hich fills the dish on its head with water. Lombre and its evolutionary relatives have the Rain Dish ability, which acts similarly, in addition to their appearances resembling the kappa as well. When its resemblance is paired with its typing, it's no surprise that they draw some type of evolutionary power from a Water Stone, then.

1 💫 Panpour To Simipour 🦹

Few Pokémon have drawn more ire and hatred than the so-called "evolutionary monkeys" of Generation V. These three, Pansage, Panpour, and Pansear, are widely-hated and cꦅonsidered terrible Pokémon by man🐻y fans. Each represents one of the three starter types: Grass, Water, and Fire, respectively. Each 𝐆will also evolve when exposed to the corresponding stone for its element.

Therefore, Panpour will evolve when exposed to a Water Stone. This evolution turns it into a Simipour, a pure Water-type that looks similar to its counterparts with a few different design elements. These monkeys are available early in Black & White to help the player take down their starter's weakness, which many saw as "hand-holding." Regardless🌞, Panpour is the most recent Pokémon introduced to evolve via Water Stone, and it might be the last if the developers do not introduce another.
