What more can there be said about that hasn't been said already? It is one of the biggest franchises on the planet in both games and anime, and it shows no signs of slowing down. On top of all the different types of creatures, there's a fantastic roster of characters that help bring 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the game's world to life. Some of these characters, however, don't show up in the anime.
With so much material to work with, it makes sense that some characters are unfortunately pushed to the side during 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Ash's adventures with his pals. Perhaps one day we will see these characters get some time to shine, but for now, they're relegated to a Nintendo console. As an important note, we'll only be talking about the main Pokemon anime — so spinoffs like Generations and Evolutions won't be counted.
10 Wally
Besides Brendan or May (depending on who you didn't choose to play as in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Gen 3 and their remakes), the only other rival in Hoenn you had was Wally. He is introduced after you meet Norman, who sends him off with a Pokemon in order to catch another one. Wally starts off a🅠sไ a shy and sickly kid, but over time becomes more outgoing and confident.
This would have been a great character arc to witness in the anime, but unfortunately, it did not happen. Despite this though, the last battle with him in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire still makes for one of the bes꧅t battles in the series and features an equally epic theme to accompany the moment.
9 Zinnia
Zinnia is a mysterious girl we first see in the Ruby and Sapphire remakes. She is a member of Team Magma or Aqua, depending on which version of the game we're talking about. You later find out she is a draconid whose main purpose is to summon and mega evolve Rayquaza. This is why she joined one of the teams — she hoped to resurrect 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Groudon or Kyogre to summon Rayquaza so it can destroy a meteoꦯrite heading for the planet.
When the Delta episode comes around, you help her bring b🐓ack the green dragon and unleash its hidden power. Zinnia eventually leaves and vanishes after you defeat Deoxys, who was the meteorite, as she has fulfilled her main purpose in life.ꦛ Zinnia and the Delta episode sure would have made an interesting arc in the anime, or at the very least an entertaining movie.
8 Benga
Benga has made only a few appearances in the games, but he sure knew how to make them count. He is the grandson of Unova champion Alder and the final boss of either the Black Tower (for owners of Black 2) or the White Treehollow (for owners ofꦆ White 2).
He has an energetic and wild personality, but don't think for a second that he is a pushover. Despite having only three Pokemon with him, he knows how to make them into a really overpowered team. Once you manage to finally beat them, he will give you either a Gible or Dratini for your efforts. Clearly this guy could have been a force to reckon in not only the games, but the anime as well.
7 Wes
Pokemon Colosseum gave people a glimpse of what a game could be on a Nintendo console before 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the days of the Switch. One of the reasons it's so fondly remembered is that it had an interesting main character in the form of Wes.
The guy is a mystery, but he seems to want to make amends from his days as a member of Team Snagem, a team that makes Snag Balls — these nefarious contraptions capture Pokemon that are already part of a trainer's team. He succeeds and helps save the Orre region from both team Cipher and Shadow Pokemon. Orre has yet to appear in any form of animation which is probably why Ash hasn't encountered Wes, and he likely won't.
6 Miror B.
Colosseum and its sequel, XD, also gave us arguably one of the best villains in the franchise with Miror B. This is a funky dude with a Poke Ball-colored afro, bright clothing, and a love for dancing matched only by his need to own every Pokemon in the world. In Colosseum, he is one of the🎀 ad𝓰mins of Cipher who tries and fails at stopping Wes at every turn.
In XD, he is now the head of his own group, Team Cipher, and sꦆports a Michael Jackson-inspired outfit complete with a sparkly glove. Miror B. may be a bad dude, but with his personality and catchy theme, he manages to steal the show whenever he turns up.
5 Leaf
Leaf is perhaps best known as the female counterpart to Red in Fire Red and Leaf Green, the remakes of the first two games. She has a great design that accents her cheery personality perfectly. Thoughꩲ Leaf has been getting more attention as of late, like appearing as an alternate skin for the Pokemon Trainer in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, she has not appeared in the anime.
This is too bad, as she could easily be Ash's successor since she is someone that fans have come to love. Though Leaf isn't around in the anime, the show's creators seemed to learn their lesson as the next female lead in a Pokemon remake, Lyra, does show up.
4 Hilda
The Advanced series in the anime seemingly started a tradition where the newest game's female protagonist (in this case May), accompanied Ash on his quest to become a Pokemon Master. The next one, Diamond and Pearl, would do the same with Dawn, and it seemed Black and White's Hilda would receive the same treatment.
Alas, that did not happen as Iris, another Gen 5 character, was Ash's female companion instead. While Iris is cool and all, you can't help but wonder how things would have been had Hilda joined Ash instead. Perhaps the Unova series would have been much better. But who knows?
3 Rosa
Just like with Hilda, Black 2 and White 2's female main character, Rosa, also got left behind. In the games she is the star two years after the events of the first Black and White and gives us insight to how Unova has changed in two years.
With a unique style and appearance, she has become a fan-favorite character, especially after some of her hilarious moments in the Pokemon Masters mobile game. Maybe she will get the ಌchance ⛦to shine, but at least there are the animated trailers for Black 2 and White 2.
2 Hugh
Hugh is your rival in the Black and White sequels and makes for an interesting character. He is your childhood friend who cares deeply for his sister — so much so that when Team Plasma st✃ole her Purrloin, he becomes a trainer in the hopes of one day becoming strong enough to defeat the new Team Plasma and get Purrloin. This eventually does happen at the end of the game, but he has to learn how to forgive over the course of the story.
This makes Hugh one of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the best rivals in the series, even if he's not as hostile towards you as Blue. This would have been satisfying to see play out in the anime as it would have made a greater character arc, and he would have made a perfect rival to Ash.
1 Silver
The best rival in the games is doubtlessly Silver. He is the exact opposite of what makes a good Pokemon trainer in the beginning, as he steals his starter from Professor Elm and is implied to abuse his Pokemon. But over the course of Gold and Silver, as well as their remakes, he learns how to become a better person and treats his Pokemon better too. He even tries to return the starter he stole in the beginning, but Elm lets him keep it after🌄 seeing how Silver has changed.
The closest thing we got to Silver in the anime was Paul from the Diamond and Pearl series (but they're not really the same despite having similar characteristics), as well as a small cameo in a special. Here's hoping we do see the son of Giovanni properly turn up at some point in the future.
