It’s been a heck of a decade for the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokémon franchise. We’ve seen the absurd, brilliant likes of Alolan Exeggutor in the Alola region. in the Pokémon: Let’s Go games. We’ve also seen the mainline series’ home 🍨console debut — and all the National Pokédex controversy that came along with it.

Along the way, of course, we’ve also seen hundreds of new Pokémon added to the ever-expanding roster. Some instantly be🉐came fan favorites, while others weren’t so lucky. Here are our picks for some of the most questionable new Psychic-type Pokémon designs of the last decade.

10 Cosmog

Oh, Cosmog. We thought you were super cute at first when we started our Pokémon Sun and Moon🌄 adventures, but then… well, the wh𓄧ole “get in the bag” thing happened just once too often. Enough already, Nebby.

Cosmog is a teeny ball of gas ♏similar to Gastly, with more of a space-tastic vibe going on. It learns a grand total of two moves, both of which are entirely worthless (Splash and Teleport). It gets the last laugh when it suddenly evolves ღfrom Cosmoem into Solgaleo/Lunala out of no-darn-where, but before that, who needed Cosmog (outside of the story, of course)?

9 Bruxish

Cosmog’s fellow Sun and Moon alumni, Bruxish is also a bit of an enigma. It’s not a particularly bad Pokémon,🤪 boasting decent Attack and Speed, a much-needed physical Psychic move worth using (Psychic Fangs) and the great ability Strong Jaw. It can pull its weight offensively, that’s for sure.

Design-wise, however, it’s 🌸probably one of the most outlandish Psychic-types of all. There’s just so much going on here. Why is it so brightly colored? How does it apply tha🦋t lipstick with no arms, and how does it manage to stay on underwater? The world may never know.

8 ꦡ Mega Latia🐲s/Latios

Needless to say, the so-called "Lati twins" look super, super similar. Latias, the female, has red and whi🍨te coloration while the male, Latios, has blue and white. Stats-wise, Latios is more powerful and Latias is more defensive. That’s about all there is to it, really.

Mega Latias and Mega Latios were added to the mix with Generation VI, and their awkward jet plane designs and even greater similarities to each other are totally uninspiring. Some fans saw this as a wasted opportunity to do something special with these two 168澳洲幸运5💟开奖网:iconic Psychic-type Legendary Pokémon.

7 Swoobat

Well, there’s a lot to unpack here. For long-time fans of the Pokémon franchise, there’s really only one bat-like Pokémon species worth mentioning: the Zubat line. Many of us aren’t particularly fond of Zubat, granted, 💖but memories of it attacking us every eighth of a nanosecond inside Mt. Moon will stick with us forever.

Woobat and Swoobat were added to the roster in Generation V, seemingly taking inspiration from a couple of different bat species. The end result was this odd little furry creature. Yes, it’s fun to use in battle with its gimmicky Simple strategy (based around said Ability, which doubles its stat boosts), but are we really 🦩better off with Swoobat in our lives?

6 💛 Meowstic (Female)

There’s just something about Espurr and Meowstic. Their design isn’t strictly bad, but when yo🧔u look at the whole package, there’s something missing here.🥀 Meowstic is as generic an Annoying Frail Supportive Pokémon™ as it’s possible to be.

Why have we specified the female variant, you ask? Well, this species differs slightly between genders. Th꧃eir stats are the same, but the male gets the Hidden Ability Prankster (the female is stuck with Competitive). Priority status moves are key to Meowstic’s effectiveness, leaving the female to just be a boring fluffy cat-looking Pokémon.

5 🌳 Darmanitan (Zen Mode)

Darmanitan is, whichever way you slice it, an absolute powerhouse. Its Ice-type Galarian form was given the Ability Gorilla Tactics, which functions like a Ch🐲oice Band you can slap an extra Choice Band over the top of. In short: it has destructive power on Godzilla-taking-a-day-trip-to-Tokyo levels.

Standard Darmanitan is a Pokémon you can usually give a Choice item to and watch as it claims souls left and right. Its Zen Mode, however, is a strangely-designed addition to the critter that is very tough to use. Darmanitan swi💟tches to this form when it’s below half of its max HP. It becomes part Psychic-type in this form, a very strong special attacker that is pitifully slow. Zen Mode is super awkward to use and usually ignored.

4 💖 Hoopa Confined 💝

Now, in an aesthetic sense, there’s nothing🍷 really wrong with Hoopa Confined. As a little genie-looking Pokémon with a gimmick based around hoops, it looks exactly as you’d expect it to. The issue, from a design (that is, gameplay) standpoint♑, is that Hoopa Unbound exists.

RELATED: 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The 10 Best Dark Type Pokémon

Hoopa Unbound is, essentially, the older, richer, more successful sibling that Hoopa Confined is totally jealous of. All of its stats are at least the same as they were, with half being a good deal higher. Our advice to Hoopa users is to whip out that Prison Bottle item and change i✤ts form immediately, because Hoopa Unbound is a straight-up upgrade.

3 🎃 Mega Slowbro

We can appreciate Mega Slowbro, we definitely can. As far as 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:ideal Mega Evolutions go (‘upgrading’ a Pokémon’s base form while staying true to wꦚhat it does best), Game Frea💫k did a great job here. Mega Slowbro is even more defensive than before, with the addition of the Shell Armor Ability to prevent critical hits from ruining its day. What more could Slowbro have asked for?

We﷽ll, not to look so darn silly, that’s what. We do🌺n’t want to know what’s happening with this design, where that gigantic Shellder came from or what the biological situation is here.

2 Mr. Rime

It’s an accepted reality of the Pokémon universe: there will always be fan-favorite critters like Charizard and Mewtwo, and there will always be those that everybody seems to forget exist. Still, every Pokémon is somebody’s favorite, however strange or obscure a♛ pick they𒐪 might seem.

Mr. Mime doesn’t get much love, it’s true, but Game Freak saw fit to elevate the odd little critter in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokémon Sword and Shield. It now has an evolved form, Mr. Rime, whiꦉch looks every bit as bizarre as its pre-evolution.

1 Gigantamax Hatterene ♚ ♉

The Psychic/Fairy Hatenna line is one of the most interesting new additions to the roster from Sword and Shield. What starts as an adorable little creature with a sleeping cap-like protuberance o🎃n its head turns into… well, something that seems to become scarier the more🎉 you look at it.

See that tiny little body inside Gigantamax Hatterene’s great mass of feminine "hair?" That’s the real creature, right there. Everything else you see here is just a sort of ilꦓlusion. If these facts don🎐’t make you uncomfortable enough, you’re simply not appreciating the true horror that is Hatterene’s design.
