When you pick up a Pokemon game, you don’t necessarily 𒆙expect it to make you start sweating like Elden Ring or Dark Souls. But there are some seriously strong trainers throughout the Pokemon games that could have even Arceus quaking in his Godly boo🍸ts.

No mat꧋ter how many gym badges you have or how many times you have become the Pokemon Master, you probably would have struggled even just a little when facing any of these opponents. These are the ten strongest trainers in the Pokemon gamesꦡ.

10 🥃 Wally - Pokemon E⭕merald

Wally challenges the player after Victory Road, Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire

Remember in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokemon Emerald when you help Wally catch that Ralts? That was cute, wasn’t it? It’s not 🍸so cute later on when you have to defeat him on Victory Road with his fully evolved Gardevoir, though. They grow up so fast.

Victory Road is already enough of a challenge on its own without Wally stepping into the mix. But Victory Road is the 💫best place to train, and a good trainer battle is a great way to do so.

9 Cynthia - Pokemon Platinum ꧟ ꦑ

Cynthia - Pokemon

When GameFreak thought they would spice things up a bit by making the champions team a lucky dip on types, it's safe to say they succeeded. Going into a Pokemon battle knowing what type match-ups you should focus on gives you at least a small sense of security. For example, you’re not going to walk into a Fire gym with a team of Grass Pokemon. Unless you want to die, that is.

Cynthia in Pokemon Platinum, however, is a jack of all trades. This makes it🐈 far more difficult to structure your team for victory. But that’s all part of the chꦉallenge of beating her.

8 📖 Val🐬erie - Pokemon X and Y

Valerie Gym, Pokemon Anime

The Fairy type was a later addition Pokemon games, initially introduced to help balance out the Dragon type. But it is safe to say it ended up exceeding it, as Fairy-type Pokemon also have the highest average special defense, just in case they needed﷽ to be a little more powerful.

That's why defeating the Fairy-type gym leader Valerie in Pokemon X and Y could be so challenging. Fairy-type Pokemon are strong against Dark, Fighting, and Dragon types, so make sure you avoid those when taking on Valerie.

7 Vol✃o - Pokemon Legends:๊ Arceus

Volo in Pokemon Legends Arceus

There aren't many trainer battles where someone rocks up with a legendary in their team. That’s one of the reasons why Volo the strongest trainer in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokemon Legends: Arceus.

Once it looks like it's going to be lights out for Volo, he pulls out his trump card, Giratina. You then have to defeat both of Giratina’s forms, after you defeat all six Pokemon in Volo’s team, of course. That’s basically eight battles in total that you have to win to thwart Volo, making him one of the most drawn-out and difficult opponents in the Pokemon games.

6 💛 Giovanni - Pokemo✨n Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon

Many of you wo🌌uld know Giovanni as the leader of Team Rocket. But in Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, he is ♓also a force to be reckoned with. After the demise of Rainbow Rocket at your hands, Giovanni steps in to defend his honor and evil plans.

And he brings with him a pretty well-prepped team, too, not to mentionᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚ his level 70 Mega Me💞wtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y. Going in with a Ghost/Psychic team would be best for Giovanni, as you can clear his other Pokemon with Psychic moves and use Ghost moves on the Mewtwo’s.

5 Brock - Pokemon Yellow 🅠

Brock the rock-type gym leader from Kanto in Pokemon

Brock isn’t necessarily the hardest trainer in the world, especially when you consider some of the previous entries on this list, but hear us out. Brock was the first gym challenge in the first Pokemon game. Information regarding type advantages and his Pokemon's stats weren’t readily available to trainers back in those days.

Also, since he was the first gym leader, trainers would more thꩲan likely be taking him on with just their Pikachu and maybe♓ one or two other weaklings they scrounged up along Route 1.

Trainers today are spoiled for knowledge on the internet. Don’t know what Rock's type advantage is? Just look it up. Trainers back in the day had to learn things the hard way, and considering it was their first gym battle ever, Brock probably kicked a few butts.

4 🔜 Ghetsis - ⛄Pokemon Black and White

Ghetsis holding a staff

Ghetsis presents a very intriguing challenge in Pokemon Black and White. He has a super strong team, and the best way to not get entirely obliterated by it is to play tactically. While a lot of the time in Pokemon games, you can go in with brute strength to wipe a trainer's team off the map, Ghetsis requires a little more thought.

With a team that consists of a Pseudo Legendary, an absolute tank l♛ike Bouffalant, and an Elektross that has absolutely zero weaknesses, trainers are in for a tough fight against Ghetsis. Make sure you co🍃me equipped with a Grass type and a Fighting type to take care of Seismitoad and Bisharp, so you can focus on the rest of his powerful team.

3 🎃 Whitney - Pokemon Crystal

Whitney and her ace, Miltank, smile as they prepare to use Rollout.

If you ever play💝ed Pokemon Crystal, you have suffered the wrath of Whitney and her Miltank. Whitney’s Miltank is, well, a tank. Its Stomp and Rollout moves could ab♑solutely waste your entire party, and the fact that it constantly replenished its health with Milk Drink is almost cruel.

Whitney is only the third gym leader and the first real roadblock for inexperienced trainers. The best way to get around her is to use a fighting-type Pokemon, which is Miltank’s one 🎃and only weakness as a Normal type.

2 Clair - Po🅷kemon Gold, Silver, and Crystal ꦉ

clair pokemon

Just as the scars of Whitney’s Miltank started to fade for Pokemon Crystal players, a wild Clair appears. Clair was the Dragon-type gym leader𓄧 in Pokemon Silver, Gold, and Crystal. Dragon-type Pokemon are a force to be reckoned with alre🍎ady, but there was one Pokemon in particular that had trainers worried: Kingdra.

Clair's Kingdra is a memorable Pokemon, to say the least. If you remember battling with Clair, you would remember her Kingdra and how it could rip shreds through your whole team. The best way to take down Kingdra would be to hit it with a fast and strong Dragon-type move. But of course, then your Pokemon is vulnerable to retaliation.

1 Red - Pokemon HeartGold ꧃and SoulSilver

Red from the Pokemon Origins anime with a Safari Ball

If you ever went head-to-head with Red on the top of Mt Silve🐷r in Pokemon HeartGold or SoulSilver, you would have known he would be on this list. He is, by far, the hardest trainer in the game and probably the whole series. After setting up shop on top of Mt Silver, Red became reclusive and totally absorbed in training up his Pokemon. He stopped talking to his Mom on the phone and everything. He means business.

Many trainers wander over unprepared, blissfully unaware of how hard the fight is actually going to be. Red's Pokemon are all around level 70, so you will at least want to exceed that. Alternatively, you could research his team, so you can go in with a type advantage.
