Now that both DLCs have been released for 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokemon Sword and Shield, it's time to t🐻ake a look at Generation 8 as a whole. One of the major changes Game Freak introduced in Gen 8 was the omission of the National Pokedex. Essentially, this means that some of the 🌳favorites from past Generations have been left out.

While there are many omissions that will never cause fans to bat an eye, there are others that immediately grab your attention (and not in a good way). Fans are already screaming for their favorites to return, and with good reason. Here are the ten of th𒊎e most glaring omissions from Gen 8, ranked.

10 Houndoom

The Dark and Fire-type Pokemon Houndoom from Gen 2 in the anime

Look, you don't want to make a Dark/Fire-type mad! Introduced in Generation 2, Houndoom is a favorite for both its look and good stats, with only Defense being a weak point. Dark/Fire is an excellent combination, giving Houndoom 6 resistances and an immunity. Its exclusion from Sword and Shield seems rather strange when you think about how small Gen 2's Pokemon roster was (only 100 total), you'd think168澳洲幸运5开奖网: all the favorites would have made the cut.

9 Mismagius

Ghost-type Pokémon Gen 4

We need more ghosts! Mismagius is a pure Ghost-type Pokemon introduced in Generation 4 as an evolution to Gen 2's Misdreavus. Mismagius has a lot of fans due to high Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed. It also has a phenomenal movepool, learning strong attacking moves from the Ghost, Fairy, Electric, Grass, Rock, Fire, and Psychic-types. So it's a really odd pick to leave out of Gen 8♕.

8 Honchkrow

Dark/Flying-type Pokémon Gen 4

Honchkrow is a Dark/Flying-type Pokemon introduced in Generation 4, as an evolution to Gen 2's Murkrow. Both Pokemon are fan favorites due to excellent designs, with Murkrow having a wizard-style appearance and Honchkrow having an o🏅ld school crime boss look.

Honchkrow h﷽as great stats in HP, Attack, and Special Attack, allowing it to be a stroꦜng mixed attacker. The most likely reason for the exclusion is the fact the Mismagius line was also excluded and the two lines are often paired together. However, 2 wrongs don't make a right.

7 Minior

Rock/Flying-type Pokémon Gen 7

Come on, Game Freak! It's a cute mini-meteor. You have to include Minior. A fan favorite, Rock/Flying-type 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokemon introduced in Generation 7. It's a fun Pokemon all around, having a cute design that comes in multiple colors, a neat ability that gives it 2 forms and stat distributions, and being the rare mixed attacking Rock-type that is also very fast. With how recently created this Pokemon is and how good the 𝐆concept is, it's a shame it was excluded from Gen 8.

6 Golem

Rock/Ground-type Pokémon Gen 1

Excluding Gen 1 Pokemon seems strange with how much Game Freak normally loves to push them. Yet, here we are. Golem is a Rock/168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Ground-type Pokemon introduced in the first generation and later given a Rock/Electric regional variant in Gen 7. Golem is a typical Rock-type, havi❀ng high physical stats and low everything else, but that doesn't make it bad. Its Alolan variant gets nothing but great abilities and it even has a unique type combination, kind of making it more of a shame that it's not in the latest Gen.

5 🥂 Eelektross ꦏ

Electric-type Pokémon Gen 5

Eelektross is a pure Electric-type Pokemon 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:introduced in Generation 5. Eelektross is an incredibly interesting creature, being blessed with🐻 the beautiful combination of being a pure Electric-type and having its only ability be Levitate, giving it an immunity to Ground moves, making it so that this Pokemon inherently has no weaknesses. But it doesn't stop there, it has extremely good stats, with Speed being its only really bad one, and the movepool is excellent as well and takes advantage of its mixed attacking prowess. It's honestly baffli🐬ng Eelektross did not make the cut for Gen 8. It's an incredibly fun Pokémon.

4 Breloom

Grass/Fighting-type Pokémon Gen 3

Breloom is a Grass/168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Fighting-type Pokemon introduced in Generation💧 3. It evolves from the ever adorable Shroomish at a really early level, only needing to reach level 23. Grass/Fighting is a very strong offensive combination, hitting 7 different types for super effective damage total. It's half and half defensively, having 6 weaknesses ꦫbut also 6 resistances.

It has the abilities Poison Heal, Effect Spore, and Technician, all of which are amazing and can be used in many different ways. Combining all of this with its very high Attack stat and Breloom is🀅 quite the force to be reckoned with. You know, when they actually include it in the game.

3 Gliscor

Ground/Flying-type Pokémon Gen 4

Gliscor is a Ground/Flying-type Pokémon introduced in Generation 4 as an evolution to Gen 2's Gligar. Fans love Ground/Flying because it is a strong combination that only comes with 2 weaknesses and great offenses. Gliscor's stats are great as well, having really high Defense and being decently fast with a good Attack stat. It also has the access to the ability Poison Heal, giving it more endurance. This seems to be a them🐬e, doesn't it? The newer evolutions of older Pokémon didn't make the cut for Sword and Shield.

2 Ampharos

The Electric-type Pokemon Ampharos from the Gen 2 anime

Ampharos is a pure Electric-type Pokémon introduced in Generation 2. Its stats are great (really only lacking in Speed). Static is an awesome Ability. The design is adorable and the typing is fantastic. What makes its absence so bizarre is Ampharos is an incredibly beloved Pokemon. It is one the most popular Pokemon the series has ever created. It seems like a no-brainer to put this thing in Gen 8,♎ but...they didn't. Definitely a hug🐈e missed opportunity there.

1 The Starters From Gens 2, 4, 5 And 6 🌄

Pokémon

Players love the starter Pokemon in every Generation. They spend the most time with you and you become more attached to them. So, these are far-and-away the most confusing and arbitrary exclusions from Sword and Shield. Game Freak is well aware of how loved all of the starter trios are, the community is very loud about this, and support them a lot in marketing and merchandising. So, why aren't all of them in Gen 8? This is especially baffling when you realize that the Gen 1, 3, and 7 starters were included🍨 in the new games.
