Many see Generation III as a significant improvement for the Pokémon franchi♐se. It had character options, a number of new and exciting Pokémon, two on two battles, expanded multiplayer, and the very popular Battle Tower that🙈 made the end game much more interesting.
This was a game that came out when many long-term Pokémon fans were entering their teens and the game acknowledged this. As a result it has many interesting, and complicated, nostalgic mᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚemories for fans who stuck with the franchise as it grew alongside them.
10 🍷 Brendan & May
An interesting feature of Pokémon Ruby, Emerald, & Sapphire is that you could choose which gender of character you wanted to be and the other would become your rival. Female fans of Pokémon were thrilled at the option to finally become a girl and it presented an i꧟nteresting dynamic between the main character and the rival.
shows the two characters standing side by side much as they were presented when you chose your gender in the game. For some it was no big deal, but for others the option to cಌhoose your character was really meaningful.
9 Pokémon Contes🌊ts
Another interesting inclusion to the game was amazing for some and controversial for ot🦂hers. You could enter your Pokémon into contests to be judged on a variety of attributes such as toughness, cuteness, and overall contidition.
gives a great illustration of the trainers and their Pokémon participating in the contest. For some it was a fun diversion for others it🀅 was a significant grind ꦇto amass ribbons for each of their Pokémon.
8 🎃 Hoenn Region
B﷽ased on the real-world island of Kyushu, Japan, the Hoenn region of the Pokémon world has a number of interesting vistas such as a smoldering volcano to the open ocean. Exploring this world was interesting and a fun part of the adventure.
shows this interesting fanart of the beach at night with a nuꦡmber of Pokémon populating the area. It’s an enchanting view that would be absolutely amazing for stargazing.
7 Starters
The staple of Pokémon games made an appearance again in Pokémon Ruby & Sapphire, asking players to decide which of the three Pokémon would be their champion for the game. Some fans feel these Pokémon are much cuter than previous iterations and in a surprising twist the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:water type, Mudkip is often considered the most popular.
has this cute picture posted on Picuki.com showing the three cute starters playing together. If the starters were ranked solely🍸 in terms of cuteness Torchic would be a clear winner.
6 Starters Evolved 💎
Perhaps the reason Mudkip often stands out as the most popular starter is because his final form, Swampert is incredibly powerful and according to many fans at the time was more Pokémon looking. Generation III was considered by many to be responsible for 🦩the rise in bipedal Pokémon that some fans felt was a detriment in ways.
created this great piece of fanart to show the beginning an final evolutionary stages of the three starters. Any one of them were strong fighters that made gre𝕴at teamma🌺tes, but this was one of those rare moments when the fire type wasn’t the clear favorite.
5 Rival Te🌳ams
Another surprising change in Pokémon Ruby & Sapphire was the introduction of two vi♕llainous teams at odds with each other. The fiery Team Magma seeking to awaken the legendary Groudon to expand the island and Team Aqua hoping to use Kyogre to sink the island.
made this acrylic painting to show the two teams going head to head with the legendaries fighting by their side. It was also the firsts time a villainous team was introduced that sought to accompli🅺sh somethin𝓡g more than obtain money or power.
4 Kyogre
Up until this point the largest Pokémon in the games were giant birds the size of houses. But with Pokémon Sapphire the player could obtain a colossal whale to fight on their side. The literal god of the oceans was a strong member of the team that ma෴de an excellentও special sweeper.
depicts Kyogre prowling through♔ the ocean as he dives from the top of a massive wave that was likely his creation. It’s hard to imagine any Pokémon going up against this beast and standing a chance and that’s how players felt when encountering it the first time.
3 Groudon
Between the two legendaries Groudon was easily the most popular given his -like appearance, phenomenal defense, and beastly fire attacks. It’s no wonder that most players had the Ruby copy when the🗹 games first came out as it was the only way to acquire this ferocious Pokémon.
gives this illustration to show hoಌw the encounter must have been and how many players fantasized that moment to be. It’s hard to imagine not only subduing and containing that behemoth, but also going on to control it and use Groudon in battle.
2 Rayquaza
The revelation that there was a legendary even stronger 🅘than Groudon and Kyogre w🐎as mind blowing for fans struggling to understand the new mythos being presented to them. The god of skies was a prized member of the team for his awesome power and speed.
created this great digital art piece sh🐬owing the mighty Rayquaza hovering in the moonlight sky. Seeing this thing hovering above the clouds is likely to be an awesome and terrifyingꦐ moment.
1 Latios &💯♎ Latias
These two legendaries aren’t discussed as much when players refer to the Pokémon Ruby & Sapphire games. Pa🤪rt of this may have been because they weren’t encountered until the very end and they’re not terribly powerful or iconic when compared to the other legendaries in this game.
’s depiction of these two dragons is much tamer beings when compared to 🎐say Groudon or Kyogre. They’re also incredibly fast and it’s a miracle that players were able to encounter them at all as they w♓ere roaming Pokémon in the games.
