Generation Four was such a wonderful time for the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokémon community. For all the faults that the generation had, it was overall a wonderfulꩵ time,🃏 filled with memorable moments.

This generation marked the last time you could gamble as a child, these were really the days. There were many different mechanics that were introduced in Gene🃏ration Four that are no longer around, and today we're going to be going over ten of those. Let's get into it.

10 Pokétch

The Pokétch was used as a smartwatch💮 of sorts in , and took up the bottom screen outside of battle. The watch was a cute little feature, sure, but it's not like it's🎃 super necessary to the game or anything.

This also poses a question for the eventual Diamond and Pearl remakes. Will the Pokétch be in✅cluded thr꧙ough a menu, or not at all? No matter the answer, most of the functionality that this neat little tool provided back in the day will be gone.

9 💜 Voice Chat 💎

Voice chat was possible through the DS but not the Switch, yeah ok Nintendo that sounds about right. As a nice little bonus for pl🅠aying online, the Fourth Generation titles allowed for voice chat.

This could be used anytime you were playing with friends, and was just a nice addition to the game. Nowadays we have Discord, so Nintendo figured they could just make themselves a bad smartphone app and call it a day. Fantastic. This is one that likely won't ♕come back for a long time.

8 GTS

The GTS is another feature that was axed from Sword and Shield. The GTS allowed for players to put up any Pokémon ﷽that they chose, and they could then trade for any Pokémon that they chose. It was pretty handy, and allowed players a chance to grab a Pokémon that they had🅘 been wanting for some time.

While you can obviously still trade with other players in Sword and Shield, the ability to just offer up a Pokémon is gone for some reason. There wasn't much of a reason to get rid of it, as it could have just𝓀 been a ⛄menu option if they didn't want to dedicate a whole building to it.

7 Su🔥per Contests

While contests were around in Generation Three, Diamond and Pearl completely revamped the feature as Super Contests. These contests had three rounds, one where you 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:dressed up your Pokémon (yes), one where you made them dance in tune wit😼h one another (double 🌳yes) and a final battle portion (ugh fine).

These were actually tons of fun, and allowed players a chance to interact and bond with their Pokémon in a new way. And now they're gone and haven't been seen since Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. Who cared about those games though?

6 Poffins

Going along with contests, poffins were a tr🦋eat that you could feed your Pokémon in order to boost their stats for Super Contests. The stat that was boosted depended on what ingredients that you chose to make your poffins with.

Poffins also came with a little minigame to make them with, in which you stirred the🤡 pot using your DS stylus. This isn't anything that we're necessarily missing, just something that isn't around anymore. It was never that great.

5 Looker

Looker is a character who has been a part of every single Pokémon game since his inception in Platinum... save for Sword and Shield. What a shame. We slowly learned more and more about Loo𒁏ker and his involvement with the Pokémon world throughout the years.

He's actually quite the interesting character, and has a much more fleshed out backstory than you would expect for an NPC. It's a shame that we won't get to see more of this character in Sword and Shield. Maybe next time.

4 🥂 Following Pokémon 𓆏

The first time that every single Pokémon was given a chance to follow you in the overworld was in HeartGold and SoulSilver. This is a fan favorite feature that made a reappearance in Let's Go! before disappearing again for Sword and Shield.

Having your Pokémon appear and follow you in the ove🌌rworld helped to add a bit more immersion to the Pokémon World, and was a nice little touch back in the day. Hopefully, this returns in full force some💙time soon.

3 The Underground 🗹

The Underground was such a strange little feature. This was an area that you could locally meet up with other players. You could enter each other's bases, play capture the flag, and dig🌠 for fossils and other treasure in the walls.

This mode never appeared after Diamond, Pearl and Platinum. But it was a lot of fun. There was also a creepypasta that Darkrai was hanging around in The Underground, waiting to steal your Pokémon if you were unlucky enough to encounter him down there. That was 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:absolutely haunting as a child.

2 ꦇ The Distortion World

A lot less haunting but still a bit daunting, The Distortion World was Giritina's true home that could be explored in Platinum. The area allowed you to walk on walls and all s♈orts of other cool nonsense, but wasn't expanded on nearly enough.

It was a fun little area, but if it were to come back in a remake of sorts, it should be greatly expanded upon. Still, it was cool to see such a mindbending area in the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokémon series the first time you entered it.

1 ൲ Spiky-Eared Pichu 🌱

Spiky-Eared Pichu is a Pokémon that could be obtained through a series of different events in HeartGold and SoulSilver, an✱d is to this day locked in those titles. The Pokémon is a cute little for❀m change of Pichu that has some plot significance regarding Pikachu-Colored Pichu and Celebi.

The Pokémon was recently given a revival of sorts, as he is one of Pichu's alternate costumes in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. If it isn't GameFreak, at least finally someon🍌e is giving this boy the attention that he deserves. He deserves all of it, by ꦫthe way.
