Eevee might be the most popular Pokémon there is to date. In fact, I'm gonna poke aඣ hornet's nest here and say that it might even rival Pikachu in being a favorite of many.
Now, of course, that doesn't mean Pikachu is ๊better or worse - think of it mo✅re as Eevee's many forms giving it room for a wider fanbase. Every fan has at least one favorite, be it Espeon, Vaporeon, or Sylveon.
Right now, with the second half of Pokémon Sword and Shields expansion pass just around the corner, people are wondering when or if Pokémon will ever see a new Eevee form. While we should go with the idea of never say never, there are a few things to consider before coming to expect one in Crown Tundra.
They Can't Mess Around With A Fan Favorite
In the past few years, Eevee has really come to be an important branding subject for Game Freak. Players whose first experience with Pokémon was Lets Go Pikachu and Eevee were delighted by the adorable fluffy little creature. A few years before that, Build-a-Bear released 🔯an Eevee as part of its Pokémon collection, and it sold out within two days. Now they've released Jolteon and Flareon in the same line - with a Vaporeon to come soon.
In other words, Game Freak isn't going to mess around wit🌳h what can be considered a cash cow. We're either getting cute and fluffy or nothing at all, and with the types remaining that haven't been used for an Eeveel🏅ution, that's going to be a challenge for sure.
The Form Has To Fit Galar's Theme
Based on the kinds of Pokémon who tend to live in the Galar region, we would most likely get either a Dragon or Ghost Eevee form. Everyone has their own definition of what's cute and what's no꧋t, but speaking in ♛the general, a ghost Eevee doesn't exactly scream huggable.
Take into consideration that ghost Pokémon often have dark bཧac𝔍kstories - think Banette, who is a cursed doll, and more recently, the Galarian Corsola, whose species became extinct in Galar because of climate change. Therefore Eevee would have to die or be cursed some way to become a ghost type and that doesn't exactly fit its cuteness marketing.
Then a🔯gain, Johto Corsola was pretty adorable, so who knows what we might see!
Crown Tundra seems like a definite place to find Dragon Pokémon, considering its mountainous appearance, so a scaly, fire-breathing Eevee is something we could see. In lore, the reason Eevee actually has so many evolutions 🍬is because it has the ability to adapt to all environments, so is it possible they changed in o🍸rder to survive in the harsh mountains?
How Would It Even Evolve
Looking back at the trends of past Eevee forms along with the way that Kubfu (another one with multiple evolutions) changed, it's most likely that a new Eevee would require either a special item or training inside a Crown Tundra temple to get its form. At this point, the creators have run their course with developing forms that require fri🐈endship and stones so they'll probably look for something a little bit different but that still fits the mystic theme.
While ꧅these factors back up the speculation we may see a new Eevee form soon, it's also important to remembe📖r those creators will be very particular with approving any design, so you might be waiting until the next generation for one.
Either way, it will be worth the wait for sure.
