As the mythology of the Pokémon world says, Arceus was the creator of the world itself, and brought many different beings into existence. Among these beings were Palkia, being of space, Dialga, being of time, and Giratina, being of the spaces in between the dimensions of space and time, referred to as anti-mat𒊎ter.

14 …But It ✃Was Banished For Its Behavior 💛
Giratina has been long forgotten from ✱current-day memory in the Pokémon world, even though it was one of Arceus' original creations. How could such a strong and important creature go unknown for so long?
The reason is because of its banishment to the Distortion world long ago. Arceus was displeased with Giratina's tendencies toward violence, and therefore banished it, leaving Girat✨ina to become a being whose name should never be spoken of.

The mighty Giratina lives in the Distortion World, a bizarre dimension introduced to players in Pokémon Platinum. Everything comes to a head when the mighty Ghost/Dragon Legendary Pokémon steps in to stop Cyrus’s dastardly plot—as the wise old saying goes, why send 🦩threeᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚ little Lake Guardians to do a gigantic, slathering Dragon’s job?
Pursuing them into the Distortion World, the player finds themselves in a realm where everything’s gone topsy-turvy. Did you ever think you’d be walking/Surfing along walls in a Pokémon title? Well, that’s what’s happening here.
Anti-gravitꦅy weirdness aside, this is Girati𝓡na’s homeworld, so it takes its original form—hence the name—from here. Outside of this strange place, it adopts its Altered Form, unless the player nabbed a very special artifact from the Distortion World.
12 Players Need A Griseous🃏 Orb To Switch Giratina To Origin Form 🧔
The aforementioned artifact is the Griseous Orb, Gir💮atina’s equivalent to Dialga’s Adamant Orb—which boosts the power of Dragon and Steel moves while held by D❀ialga—and Palkia’s Lustrous Orb—which increases the damage of Dragon and Water moves for Palkia exclusively.

The Griseous Orb has the same effect on Giratina’s own STAB moves when held, but it also has an additional effect: while it’s equipped, the Pokémon can assume the Origin Form outside of the Distortion World and will do so until it relinquishes the item.
11 ✱ It’s The Most Powerful Of Giratina’s ꦓTwo Forms…
When we say powerful, you understand, we mean strictly in terms of attack power. After all, nobody who’s faced the wrath of Giratina Alte🤪red Form would say it wasn’t powerful. This beastly creatureꦉ is arguably even more of an unstoppable force than Lugia, which is frightening to even think about.
Still, this tends to mean that this form of Giratina is built in a super bulky way, taking advantage of its huge 150 base HP and dual 120 Defence/Speci꧂al Defence. In damage output, as a result, is a little sub-par, when is where the creature’s formidable Origin Forme comes in.
10 ꧙ …Though Its Stats Don’t Really Change Much At All
This form of Giratina tends to be built to deal damage, making the best of its mixed attacking capabilities, access to handy priority in Shadow Sneak and other useful assets. I𒀰nterestingly, though, it’s used very differ🧸ently, but its stats change very little.
🐼Both forms of Giratina share the same base stat total (680), but they’re switched around a bit. Where Altered Form has 120 in both defenses and 100 in both offenses, the reverse is true of Origin Forme. Further bolstered by the♒ bonus from the Griseous Orb, the latter can really bring the pain.
9 📖 It Doesn’t Technically Get To Use Its Hidden Ability
Hidden Abilities can have a huge bearing on a Pokémon’s viability. The likes of Politoed’s Drizzle and Grenღinja’s Protean elevate some critters from afterthoughts to very popular picks. (See also Cinderace’s Libero, which has exactly the same effect an♏d is causing the bunny’s usage to spike now it’s been released.)
Giratina’s Hidden Ability is Telepathy,🐟 which renders it immune to damage from allies’ spread moves. While Altered Form Giratina has access to this, its Origin Forme does not. Its꧟ own Ability is Levitate, which it will retain as long as its Griseous Orb is equipped.
8 In Generation IV, Its 💃Ability Couldn’t Change At All
So, yes. We don’t know whether Origin Form Giratina has an irrational fear of Ground-type moves... or somethiᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚng, but the fact remains that its ability is Levitate regardless of 🐽whether it has its Hidden Ability or it doesn’t.
The odd thing is that, there was no changing out Levitate at all in Generation IV. Moves such as Worry Seed would not work. The Aability cou𒁃ld be suppressed, but not swappeꦏd. Altered Form’s ability was affected as normal, which just makes things stranger.
7 It Has An Exclusive Stage In Pokém🔯on Picross ♛
Generally speaking, Altered Forme Giratina sees a lot more use. While its Origin Forme can be very effective, it isn’t especially powerful when compared to some of the beastly crit🤡ters in the Ubers tier. As such, it’s often left behind in favor of its tiny☂-winged form.
Still, Origin Forme does have a not-so-important distinction that Altered Forme doesn’t: its own exclusive stage in Pokémon Picross. It appears as stage 14-10 in this 2015 3DS title, one of the biggest and most com𓂃plex levels in the game. We’re sure Altered Forme Giratina is shaking the snakey fists it doesn’t have in anger and jealousy.
6 It﷽ Has Its Own Movie𝔍
Giratina, like many legendaries, was a major character in the 11th 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:movie in the Pokémon series, Giratina and the Sky Warrior. The movie focuses As🐻h and friends' encounter with Giratina and Shaymin, both legendary Pokémon whose alternate formes are integral to the plot.
Giratina starts a fight with Dialga due to it and Palkia's dis☂ruꦍptions to time and space, causing Shaymin to intervene and quell the violence. However, Shaymin needs Ash and friends' help returning to its garden, which pulls them into a journey across dimensions.
