Cliff is one of the three primary Team GO Rocket Executives in Pokemon Go, but can be just as difficult as the others if your team is unprepared. Like the other leaders you'll challenge, Cliff will have three Pokemon in his team that will be drawn from a pool of possible options. You can determine which Pokemon he uses in the first round, but the second and third can each be one of three, meaning you'll want to have a plan for whatever Pokemon he might call in.

Cliff's second Pokemon will either be a Venasaur, Crobat, or Omastar. These are all deadly Pokemon, but not unfamiliar ones; you probably have a strong Pokemon of a countering type already!

We've provided you with lots of potential counters to each of Cliff's possible choices, but having a strong Electric- or Psychic-type Pokemon ready would mean you were prepared for two out of three possible opponents. Legendaries like Mewtwo or Raikou are good examples.

Cliff's third and final Pokemon will either be Swampert, Tyranitar, or Torterra. Even more powerful than the last, these are the real challenge in the fight.

As with the previous round of combat, there's some overlap between which Pokemon are useful. If you're preparing in advance, you'll have time to build up a Pokemon that, odds are, will serve you well in this battle. Since two of Cliff's options are weak to Bug-type Pokemon, the Mythical Genesect is a good choice.
