Summary
- Some of the harder-to-find shinies during Pokemon Go Fest were Binacle, Fomantis, Joltik, Wurmple, Foongus, Shellos (both forms), Pawniard, Heracross, and Unown.
- The rarity of certain shinies, combined with their small sprites and subtle coloring, made them challenging to spot and catch.
At its heart, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokemon Go Fest is a celebration of rare and shiny Pokemon appearing in abundance for the weekend's festivities. Evolving over the years from an in-person-only to 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:a now-global event, Pokemon Go Fest brings hoards of people and Pokemon out to 😼enjoy the shiny hunting.
Shiny rates in Pokemon Go are notably better than the main series games to the tune of a roughly one in 500 base shiny rate. Eggs have a shiny rate of about one in 125. Permanently boosted shinies have one in 64 shiny rates. Lastly, the two easiest shinies to find are Community Day Pokemon (one in 25) and Legendary Raid Pokemon (one in 20).
Despite the fantastic shiny rates, improved odds are far from a guarant𒁃e൩e, as these hard-to-acquire shinies prove in spades.
9 Binacle
Binacle certainly got some time to shine, particularly during the Water-themed hours during Go Fest's first day. However, all the time in the spotlight didn't necessarily equate to shinies as this elusive barnacle wasn't common to come by.
Aside from rewiring your brain not to ignore these critters now that they're shiny is available, this two-headed sea creature proved a tough shiny to catch. While Binacle certainly wasn't extinct, it's likely you got more shiny Marill or one of the other older Water-type shinies instead.
8 Fomantis
Fomantis' shiny was not only tough to land, but its sprite was a bit small on the map, often getting lost under Lapras or beside another green Pokemon like Carnivine. Shiny rates are difficult to contend with alone, but losing out on shiny check opportunities because you didn't see the spawn makes things painful.
If you focused solely on hunting this Pokemon during its Grass-type hour, you might have found one sooner than others. However, given the combination of its rare spawn rate and small size, this shiny wasn't simple to get your hands on. It's not the rarest shiny of its type-specific hour, but it's a very close second.
7 Joltik
Much like Fomantis, Joltik is another small Pokemon that eludes your sight more than anything. Joltik and Fomantis spawns were out 𓂃in relatively even numbers, with seemingly equal rarity for their shinies as well. The factor that makes Joltik even trickier than Fomantis is the shiny coloring.
Both Fomantis and Joltik have difficult-to-spot sprites, but Joltik's shiny is much more subtle and leaves the door open to an accidental missed shiny if you're not attentive. Joltik's yellow coloring sometimes made it particularly difficult to see on your phone with a sun glare, giving you some real-life obstacles to overcome during your hunt.
6 Wurmple
Wurmple was a bit of an unusual case during GO Fest 2023, as it spawned in about equal if not greater numbers than other wild Pokemon. However, the purple caterpillar was anecdotally even more s🔴carce than rare shinies like Fomantis.
Considering that Wurmple's shiny has been out for a long while, and it's not a particularly rare Pokemon, it's odd that it rarely appeared purple. After years of availability, you would expect Wurmple to be a filler shiny, but it hardly even served its immaculate shiny vibes to anyone.
5 Foongus
Foongus is a bit of a triple-whammy when it comes to practical shiny hunting. Foongus' spawn rate seemed somewhat scarce throughout the event, and it's also easy for your eyes to glaze over the sprite, dismissing it as your central Pokeball button.
Even when checked, you really have to stare at your phone waiting for sparkles to tell if it's shiny. The major difference between regular and shiny Foongus is the switch from red to blue coloring on its cap. If you don't wait for the shiny animation or catch a glimpse of the far side of its cap, you might run away by mistake – like some of us did.
4 Shellos (East & W🦩est)
Both forms of Shellos were out in decent numbers throughout the Go Fest celebration, offering a chance for everyone to get a rare shiny region-specific Pok൲emon. In terms of rarity, their shiny rate was likely set to the same number as Fomantis and Joltik, but the trick here was getting one shiny of each.
Nothing is more agonizing than missing out on a shiny pink Shellos because you kept catching♑ the other shiny version. Luckily, trading can alleviate this issue, but tracking down a shiny of each durꦰing the event period was certainly no easy task.
3 Pawniard
Pawniard could not be found spawning in the wild, instead only available as an incen💛se spawn during the Pyrite Sands segment of Pokemon Go Fest 2023. Sure, getting any shiny is difficult, but you can usually hunt down spawns in the wild if you use the in-game nearby list or third-party maps.
Unfortunately, Pawniard's spawns were completely up to chance, requiring two layers of luck. The first layer of finding a Pawniard spawn could often be infuriating, especially after a bunch of Pachirisu decide to spawn in a row. Even if you were lucky enough to spawn a Pawniard on incense, you had to hold your breath for a shiny on top of it.
2 Heracross
Heracross, like Shellos, is a region-locked Pokemon that appeared shiny in the wild around the globe, but its blue form was almost ubiquitous. Given its region-locked status, this shiny was extremely sought after and hunted throughout the weekend, but its rates weren't high.
Heracross was among the most common shinies that trainers reported missing out on, despite their best efforts to seek it out above other spawns. On top of its initial rarity, Heracross bears a significant visual genಌder difference, with a heart-shaped horn designating a female.
Finding one🌃 shiny was a challenge, but finding a set of two was nearly impossible for those who wanted both.
1 Unown
Shiny Unown A, D, I, M, N, and O were available during GO Fest 2023, marking the global debut of shiny Unown M. Only Go Fest ticket holders using their incense would encounter the Unown spawns at all, creating a similar situation to Pawniard's shiny spawn dilemma.
Unown spawns were about as rare as Pawniard, and you had no control over which letter would spawn. Thus, shiny Unown M was a near impossibility given the🦄 layers upon layers of RNG (random number generator) you needed to go right to claim your shiny Unow⛦n M.
If you're one of the lucky few with one, cherish it.
