We all hate Pokemon wearing hats, right? I didn’t mind it when Pikachu was swamped by Ash’s cap in the anime – that was adorable – and when that same lil guy appeared in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokemon Go, I was happy to see him. Then there was a Halloween Pikachu in a Mimikyu costume. Still cute. That was accompanied by Bulbasaur, Squirtle, and Charmander in significantly less cute Halloween costumes. Then Pikachu wore a Santa hat. Then a witch hat. Then a bowler hat. Pikachu wears a variety of hats, from standard caps in collaboration with fashion brands, to different party hats, to flower crowns. You get the pictu💞re, we’re bored of Pikachu costumes.

While some of them, like Ash’s cap or the London Beefeater costume for the World Championship, are unique designs that call back to anime moments or geographic locations🌌, most of them aren’t great. New Croagunk hats and Pikachu costumes are no substitute for proper content – I’d much prefer Timed Research, Research Days, or just releasing new Pokemon rather than slapping a new cosmetic onto an existing Pokemon to try to give colleꦰctors FOMO.

I feel for the shiny hunters mostly. I’ve long since abandoned any hope of collecting every shiny in the game, and armed with the knowledge that the likes of Axew will get Community Days in a few years’ time, I know I’ll eventually get that shiny dragon. Pokemon Go is a lesson in patience these days, especially when the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:shiny chances at Go Fest were so dire.

Pokemon Go’s Pikachu Costumes Would Be Better If They Had Shiny Hats

It’s clear, in that case, that we need more motivation to get out and catch these shinies. I have 14 shiny Pikachu, and all but one of them are in costume. I haven’t hunted these, I don’t care about the ꦰhatted Pikachu that I’ve missed, but maybe I should? Maybe Niantic wants me to care. After all, caring about shinies usually ends up with more money for Niantic as players will buy Raid Passes, Incubators, or Incense. But what can it do, other than release brand new Pokemon or brand new shinies? It’s committed to the hats, so it needs🐻 to make the hats better.

There was a series of Pikachu that wore hats depicting other Pokemon in May 2020 for the Throwback Challenges. Charizard hat Pikachu,🅺 Umbreon hat Pikachu, Rayquaza hat Pikachu, and Lucario hat Pikachu were clearly cashing in on nostalgia, but they could have been so much better. Imagine if, had you caught a shiny Pikachu that month, its hat was shiny too? Black Charizard, Umbreon with its glowing bands of ice blue, jet blꦇack Rayquaza, the bright yellow of Lucario, all atop orange Pikachu’s head. I would have doubled or tripled my efforts that month had those shiny hats been available, and I’m sure others would have too.

Pikachu is an uninspiring shiny. It’s unfortunate, but it happens. If it had shiny costumes, though, it would be far more exciting. As well as those examples, its Mimikyu costume could do the same, and its subtle Meloetta scarf could too. These shiny costumes would be an extra incentive for Pokemon Go pla🌄yers who are starved of in-depth content, and would at least give the costumes a slightly more appealing design.

You don’t have to stop at the🍨 Pokemon-inspired costumes, either. Flying Pikachu’s balloons could change colour when it’s shiny, Croagunk’s baseball cap could change too. We recently played through the Fashion Week event, which saw the likes of Zebstrika, Kirlia, Diglett, and Absol get costumes of varying quality. But what if that blue-nosed Diglett had a similarly-coloured bowler hat when it shone? Absol’s sunglasses could shift red like its fur. Butterfree’s gingham bow༺ could turn as neon as the shiny bug itself.

Pokemon Go’s Pikaꦚchu costumes – and all costumes, for that matter – are uninspired and most players are bored of their repeated re-releases. If Niantic is sticking by the designs, however, it should at least change things up and make the shinies more rewarding. That way I might actually use some of the Incense I’m hoarding for Community Days.
