According to estimates from Sensor Tower, which tend to line up with Nintendo's official numbers more often than not, Pokémon GO is on course to have a record-breaking year. Players have spent $445m during the first half of the year, which is more than has been spent during the first half of any other year since the game was released. It's a 12% increase versus last year and the first time Pokémon GO has broken the $400m mark by this point i♔n the yea🎃r.
Again, these aren't official numbers, but chances are they will be very close to the numbers Nintendo has on file. Statista reported earlier this year that Pokémon GO experienced a spike in sales back in March 2020 when lockdown first hit, so this all adds up. It also continues the trend of Pokémon GO increasing its revenue in the first six months of the year every single⛎ ♛year.
