Gym Leaders, from the Pokémon anime to the video games, are a weird bunch. Some of the aforementioned anime spin𓃲offs have actually tried to explore these characters outside of Ash’s partners of Misty and Brock from the main series.
There are some good ones out there but the point is the profession of a Gym Leader is weird. These ten meme🐼s will point out just exactly how weird these issues can get. Most of them stem from the early anime entries because they at least give them a little more personality than the games and in turn make them a bit easier to make light of.
10 Trained To Lose
The meme’s joke is easy to side with. Like the Suicide Squad from DC Comics, Gym Leaders aren’t really meant to win. They are more like guardians to train better 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokémon Masters which doesn’t really make sense.
Why are their Pokémon𓆏 so low in levels and why do these “elite” guardians only carry a handful of Pokémon rather than the max of six? They are Pokémon scrubs.
9 Diversify To Win
Ah yes, what can’t Captain America criticize? This classic meme is used to bring out another point about the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokémon Gym Leaders carry.
Why don’t they diversify🦩 their teams instead of becoming the Water Gym Leader🌟, or Fire Gym Leader? Again, that’s a scrub move. That’s like hanging a target on their backs as if to shout, “here is my weakness.”
8 Work Those Pokéglutes
When not competing with trainers, what do Gym Leaders do all day? It’s not lꦏike they can workout. Calling these Pokémon arenas gyms is kind of misleading.
That said most leaders are pretty ripped so maybe they keep the 𒀰gym equi✤pment to themselves in the back. Either that, or standing around does wonders for their core.
7 Riddle Me This
What’s up with puzzles? Who is designing these things for 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokémon Gyms? The joke in the meme points to The Riᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚddler from Batman, but another joke would be to liken them to the Hunger Games.
Some Pokémon Gyms have none📖 and it’s all about battling while others range from simple switches puzzles to something downright Saw-like in complexity.
6 The Lost League
From left to the right the Gym Leaders from Th♒e Orange League are as follows: Cissy, Dannyღ, Rudy, Luana, and Drake.
This arc was used for filler in the anime. It also allowed the creators to actually let Ash win a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokémon League although this compet༺ition was much easieꦆr. It’s a forgettable quick season of the anime as are most filler arcs.
5 Lieutenant Of What?
This is a question that even Lt. Surge is confused about. What is he the lieutenant of? There is a Pokémon fan theory out there that talks about a Pokémon war and that’s why ♍not a lot of younger ma🍌les are around.
This is also what the protagonist’s father is not around as he died in the war along with𒉰 other huge casualties. If that’s true then is Lt. Surge the only soldier left in the world?
4 Psychic Power
There is Lt. Surge who brings to mind war in the world of Pokémon, which is weird enough and then there is Sabrina who is an actual psychic. She isn’t the only one in the games༒ and anime either.
Shouldn’t more people be worried about humans with psychic powers. Sure, there are literal monstersꩵ with far greater power but this fact feels li🧔ke it should be more revelatory.
3 The Key Is Laughter
Another odd fact about Sabrina concerns the anime. In order to win Ash is told he needs to catch a Ghost type Pokémon which leads him to find Ghastly, Haunter, and Gengar. He does not catch Haunter, but it does d𓆏ecide to follow and help Ash.𒈔
Instead of battling it pulls🎃 a bunch of pranks which makes Sabrina laugh. This somehow grants Ash a badge. Oh right and Ash literally dies in this episode too. Suffice it to say it is a weird, senseless episode.
2 Call The Police
Blaine’s Pokémon Gym is located inside a literal volcano♍. Okay, he is the Fire type Gym ♑Leader so it makes sense thematically, but in-turn it also makes absolutely no sense.
Who sets up an a👍rena for kids to battle inside an active volcano? Somebody better call the Pokémon League because Blaine needs to be investigated.
1 The Mob Leader
Speakin🍰g of the Pokémon League, it seems as 🅺though the committee is not that smart. After all, Giovanni is a Gym Leader and the head of the criminal organization known as Team Rocket. It shouldn’t be that hard to investigate the man to figure out this connection.
Maybe this means the greater Pokémon League is corrupt too. Myabe this is how t🦩hey are able to pay for everything like their payment for Gym Leaders as well as upkeep and not to mention the elaborate puzzles. Giovanni might be an okay guy if he donates.
