It's been over a decade since the release of Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver for the Nintendo DS. We don't know if the PokeWalker will make a comeback (especially since the Pok💛e Ball Plus serves much the same function), but we do have some encouraging signs that Nintendo is at least considering HeartGold & SoulSilver ports for the Switch.
Twitter user pointed out that Nintendo has𓂃 recently renewed their trademarks for HeartGold & Sou𒀰lSilver, making it at least slightly more possible that Nintendo will either port or outright remake both games for the Switch.
Of course, these are just trademarks, and renewing them isn't much of an indicator. Big companies like Nintendo will renew trademarks all the time just to keep them out of the hands o𓂃f competitors whether or not they actually have any plans to do anything with them. But this could also be the first step towards a🔯nnouncing a remake or a port of HeartGold & SoulSilver.
A port would admittedly be a bit more difficult for Nintendo as both HeartGold & SoulSilver made heavy use of the DS's dual-screen features. Making the game work on a single-screen device like ꦕthe Switch will require some tweaks, and at that point, you might as well just remake the whole game using🅘 the same engine as Sword & Shield.
Another possibility is a remake along the same vein as Let's Go, Pikachu & Eevee--a smaller reimagining tౠhat's more squarely aimed at children than nostalgia-filled adults.
The most likely explanation is that Nintendo 💞simply periodically renews all its tradem𒈔arks, and HeartGold & SoulSilver simply came due now. Until we get word from Nintendo, the only way to play the game is either on an old DS or on the Wii U's Virtual Console.
