What can be said about the ill-fated Dexit that hasn't already been said? The people behind 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokémon Sword & Shield decided to cut hundreds of 📖existing Pokémon from the games, and it'll be a tough road for the franchise to recover in the hearts and minds of many.
However, GameFreak dropped a huge bombshell announcement recently when they revealed that over 200 Pokémon would be returning as part of the new DLC expansions. While this proved controversial, it was still nice to know that some of our faves would be coming back. But, it is yet to be revealed exactly which Pokémon will be returning, save for a few that were shown in trailers and promotional material. Here are the ones that many are hoping will make💫 their return, but haven't been announced either way.
10 Salamence
A few of the so-called 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:pseudo-legendary Pokémon were unfortunately cut, including Metagross, Garchomp, Dragonite, and Salamence. H🔯owever, Metagross and Garchomp have already been announc♑ed as some set to return. Salamence, on the other hand, is not yet revealed to be coming back, and might not come back at all in the end.
Metagross𒊎 and Salamence haꦕve always been a pair, introduced in a generation alongside one another, and both earning their status as fan-faves. If Metagross is to come back without his buddy, it'll be sad for players and Salamence's fanbase. Here's hoping we see the return of our dragon friend.
9 Fossils
Sword & Shield's fossil Pokémon, Arctovish, Arctozolt, Dracovis🎉h, and Dracozolt are, to put it mildly, abominations from the depths of nightmares. These mismatched terrors are horrifying to look at, and at their worst, kind of depressing (don't read their Pokédex ꧅entries).
While they do have some love from the fanbase, and they make sense in terms of British lore (168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Galar is based on the U.K., where fossils were mismatched in the early days), these guys don't compare to the fantastic designs of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:earlier-gen fossils like Tyrantrum, Kabutops, Auroღrus, and the rest🌌. Not a single fossil made it in from the previous games, but hopefully, they'll make it back this time.
8 Mareep
One of the first Galar Pokémon to be revealed was the lovable Wooloo, a little white sheep with cute braids and a wooly coat. Fan artists exploded with joy as they made tribute after tribute of this little sheep with its , Mareep. The two were depicted cuddling, battling together, and just being fun-loving shee𓆏py friends.
But, as the games released, many were distraught to see that the Mareep line had not been saved from Dexit's wrath. Hearts were broken as fans realized Mareep and Wooloo could never meet. Let's all hope these two can reunite in officiality, ins൲tead of just in fan art (plus, Ampharos is a long-time fan-favorite♛ Pokémon, so it'll be back, too).
7 Smeargle
Anybody who has spent time breeding Pokémon competitively knows that Smeargle is a huge help. It's part of a complicated system of egg moves, Sketch, and more. But, even without its use as a tool for building your perfect team, Smeargle is just a staple of the Pokém🌌on franchise.
Many were dismayed to learn this artist Pokémon would not be bringing its paintbrush tail and fun beret to the Galar region. Perhaps it's because Smeargle is often associated with France, which has historically been a nemesis of the English🐟. Maybe we can put politics aside and let Galar experience the beauty of Smeargle's art after all.
6 🅺 Fletchling
There are already a few of the "Route 1 birds" in Sword & Shield, including Pidove, Rookidee, and Hoothoot. One of the little feathered friends that were unfortunately cut was Fletchling, which could be argued as one of the favorites in this catego𒉰ry. Talonflame is a really cool Pokémon with a type combo typically associated with and the legendary Moltres.
Fletchling was even rumored to be one of the Pokémon that would be making it, considering it was literally the first early-gen Pokémon to be shown in the trailer, as a weather vane atop a house. The fact that it didn't end up making it was kind of ridiculous, so it would be amazing of GameFreak to bringไ our little bird buddy back.
5 Starters
Possibly the most controversial cut from previous gens was every single starter Pokémon other than Charizard. Seeing Charizard receive the same it always does was infuriating to many fans who unde♔rstand that it's a bit overrated. The starters are not only fan-favorites because of their designs, but also because they're your first Pokémon p🍒al in every game and you grow understandably attached.
Venusaur and Blastoise are coming back, as we've seen with the fact that they're receiving Gigantamax forms. But, what about everyone else? From Chikorita to Primarina, there are still six generations of starters unaccounꩲted for.
4 ♔ Shuppet & Banette 🐼
Galar features . There's Dhelmise, Froslass, Dragapult, and the new Galarian Corsola. Included in this list of creepy creatures are Duskull and Sableye. These two have always been part of the Gen III trio of ghosts with Shuppet, but for some reason, the latte𝔉r was left behind.
It's unclear why the Sword & Shield developer𝓰s thought Duskull and Sableye fit into Galar's ecosystem but not Shuppet, but regardless of their reasoning, it would be great to see this creepy puppet Pokémon make itꦑs return in the DLC expansions.
3 Swanna
Several Pokémon were cut that would fit the whole theme of the U.K on which Galar is based. Fans were confused and angry that some seemingly-guaranteed pic𝐆ks were bafflingly absent. Among these🌳 was Swanna, given England's association with swans.
Per some weird law in Britain, the royals own some portion of all the swans⭕ in the country. It's a strange policy, but swans have become associated with England as a result. Surely, if the Po❀kémon that were cut were deemed inappropriate for the British theme, Swanna should have stayed.
2 Stoutland
Continuing with the theme of seemingly-🐈British Pokémon that are confusingly left out of Galar, consider the☂ Stoutland line. These mustachioed dogs are based on Scottish Terriers, and have long been understood to be basically that alone. GameFreak felt that Stoutland belonged in Alola to the point of being used as a Ride Pokémon, but not Galar for some reason.
Seeing as Galar is meant to be the U.K. but focuses on England, the least they can do is include some representation of proud Scotland, even if it is just in the form of a dog with a laꦍrge mustache.
1 Snubbull
And finally, the most British Pokémon of them all. Snubbull is a direct copy of English bulldogs,𒉰 its shape, personality, decorum, teeth, puffy cheeks, and even the way it is dressed up in froofy bows by many of its owners.
Snubbull's omission from Sword & Shield was probably the most-cited example of strange decisions by the developers in the fanbase, and its inclusion in the DLC is almost necessary at this p☂oint. Imagine the wealthy ladies of Galar's upper crust sporting their Snubbulls in handbags. Or, better yet, imagine the absolutely uncontrollable joy in Opal's eyes when she saw Snubbull, given her intense and unstoppable love for everything pink. It's what she deserves.
