The 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Galarian forms introduced in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokémon Sword and Shield were a good way to breathe life into some older creatures that seemed to have been left behind over the years. In the wake of the hundreds of new Pokémon that had been introduced over the years, it's no surprise tha🍌t one of those who began to fall under the radar was Weezing.
What was once one of the signature Pokémon of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Team Rocket got a new lease on life when it was given the alternate form treatment, complete with facial hair and to🌳p hats, along with a unique typing in Poison/Fairy. Unlike many of the other Galarian forms, Weezing has the potential to be a great asset for many trainers' teams, but does it stand up to the original?
10 ෴ Type: Galarian 🌄
168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Kantonian Weezing was a classic pure Poison-type, giving it a decent number of resistances and a small number of weaknesses, although the Pokémon it was strong against were few and far between until the Fairy-type came along. The addition of a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Fairy-typing not only improves its already decent defensive capabilities but also gives it ﷽some much-needed offensive potential as🌌 well. With its newfound immunity and effectiveness against Dragon, Fighting, and Dark-type Pokémon, Weezing suddenly becomes less of a niche and more of an asset.
9 Movepool: Galarian ♏
The movepools of Kantonian and Galarian Weezing are virtually identical, as is the case with many alternate forms from Pokémon Sword and Shield, but the one thing the original lacks are Fairy-type moves. Although it wouldn't get a same-type attack bonus from any 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Fairy-type moves, it would have gone a long way to making Kantonian Weezing just as viable an option as Galarian, particularly when it comes to Maxꩵ moves and Dynamaxing.
8 𒅌 Abilitie𒈔s: Galarian
Both versions of Weezing have the same main abilities in Neutralizing Gas and Levitate, with both of them being fantastic in their own ways. While removing one of their weaknesses and turning it into an immunity𝓡 is amazing, and completely neutralizing all abilities on the field is even better, the hidden ability of Galarian Weezing is just better overall.
Misty Surge summons Misty Terrain when it is brought out, giving its Fairy-type moves a boost while also negating any status moves. On top of this, it makes the new move Misty Explosion even more powerful. Stench, the hidden abi🎐lity of Kantonian Weezing, is garbage in comparison, giving it a small chance to flinch an opponent, which is wasted on such a slow Pokémon.
7 ꦬ Stats: Tie
One of t🐈he downsides of a new form only changing appearance and typing is that there's no wiggle room when it comes to using a new form in a different way from the original. Both Kantonian and Galarian We🍒ezing have the exact same stats across the board, meaning this point goes to neither version.
6 Design: Galarian 𝓡
Kantonian Weezing may be a classic design, it hasn't aged as well as other older Pokémon and is one of the more strange when compared to modern designs. Game Freak didn't let this hold them back, put a fun twist on an old creature, and made something truly cool while retaining the general look of the original. The puffs of toxic smok🐭e are𝔉 placed to make it seem like it has facial hair, and the chimney stacks double as top hats in a way that makes Galarian Weezing fit right into the British inspired world.
5 Shiny Form: Kantonian ♏
While Galarian Weezing's design is better overall, it falls short in the shiny department. The amazing soot-grey color is replaced with a dull brown and the smoke coming from its body doesn't change at all. Kantonian Weezing, on the other hand, spews disgust♎ing purple gas reminiscent of its original color, and the faded purple of its body is replaced by an aqua blue that makes it really stand out. This is all the more impressive considering how bad some of the original shiny forms were back in the day.
4 𓆏 Availability: Galarian 🥀
Like most of the original forms of Galarian alternates, they are decidedly more difficult to obtain without some outside influence. While it is possible to obtain one through the random spawn train🦂er in the Isle of Armor or by transferring through Pokémon Home, this isn't always an easy feat.
Comparatively, Koffing꧂ is able to be obtained fairly early in the game and evolves at level 35, around the same time as a player's starter Pokémon will reach their fಞinal form, making the newer version much easier to obtain than the original.
3 Dynamax Potential: Tie ༺
Like with their stats, neither of these forms stand out enough from the other in to make either one better for 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Dynamaxing i🤪n battle. While there is the lack of summoning Misty Terrain with Max Starfall in Kantonian Weezing, it already had this shortcoming with it not getting Misty Surge as an ability. As it is a more defensive Pokémon, their offensive po🌄tential isn't something that comes into play as much when using Dynamax, especially when they will deal the most damage by exploding rather than using anything else.
2 💞Playthrough Viability: Galarian
Galarian Weezing easily takes this category, and not just because of how hard it is to get the Kantonian form. The Poison/Fairy-typing makes it viable against so many of the game's main battles, particularly against Raihan, Opal, Piers, and Bea in Pokémon Sword. Not only that, but Koffing can be obtained fairly early in the game, making it usable for the majority of a playthrough rather than only being able to be caught towards the end of the story💞.
1 Winner: Galarian ꦬ
Kantonian Weezing isn't a bad Pokémon by any means, but it doesn't hold a candle to the new and improved form. The addition of a Fairy-typing (with the associated strengths and weaknesses that come with it), as well as a new hidden ability in Misty Surge and the new move Misty Explosion, make Galarian Weezing the definitive form of this classic 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:poison gas Pokémon.
