The boss battles in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokemon Legends: Arceus are shite. Like proper bad. The game’s main conflict (other than, you know, the end of the world) is𒅌 about defining our relationship with Pokemon, studying them, and fostering mutual respect. The indigenous Diamond and Pearl clans have lived alongside - and in fear of - Pokemon for centuries, and we have to decide whether or not to take their advice on board while studying th🥃e region and filling our Pokedex.
Fights against Noble Pokemon throw all this out the 𒊎window. Instead of choosing whether to battle a wild Pokemon or sneak up through the long grass to throw a carefully planned Gꦕigaton Ball at its back in order to fill your Dex entry, you just yeet a load of food at a Noble. The fights are spammy and arduous as you mash the dodge and throw buttons in tandem, occasionally sending out a Pokemon if you want a fight - but you don’t have to.
The boss fights in the endgame follow the same formula, wꦕhich only compounds the problem. Literal Gods appearing before you? Balms’ll sort it. It’s not only at odds with the story and gameplay of Legends: Arceus, but it’s really boring too.ಌ
Alpha Pokemon are the exact opposite of this. They’re the big fuckers with red eyes and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:bad tempers who prowl Hisui waiting, just waiting, for an unsuspecting trainer to stumble into their vicinity. Most are surrounded by the dropped satchels o𝔍f fallen trainers. If you dare sneak in to retrieve a satchel, walk past on your way to complete a side quest, or accidentally encroach on the Alpha’s territory, you’re doomed. You won’t always lose the battle, but often you’ll be forced into a hasty retreat.
I’ve tried to sneak up on countless Alpha by crawling through long grass that tickles when it gets up your shorts and waiting for it to turn its back when close enough to me that my Heavy Ball will reach. It’s a slow process, but it’s rewarding. “I’m a tiger ready to strike,” I tell myself as I wait for the Luxray or Snorlax to meander close enough to my concealed position. It eventually walks into range and turns around: the perfect opportunity. I launch my 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:weighty ball with utmost ef🃏ficiency - this combination of factors has the highest chance of capturing the giant creature. Alas, it pops out, all my preparation for nothing. An🏅d now that fucker is angry.
Alpha Pokemon are not quite 𒅌the kaiju-esque Dynamax Pokemon of the Galar region, but they’re⛄ far scarier. There’s an element of safety when you’re tackling a gym leader in Sword & Shield - this battle is being broadcast to the world, and the Pokemon are practically tame. Your colossal opponent may faint your Pokemon, but it will never attack you. They wouldn’t dare show a trainer dying on prime time telly.
That’s not the case in Legends: Arceus, and Alpha Pokemon have no concern for the niceties of gym battles or the established rules of❀ engagement between trainers. If Alpha Alakazam gets a whiff of fear, it will try to take your life - and I’m talking from experience here. Some people in Jubilife Village mentioned Noble Kleavor mightily messing up some Galaxy Team members to the point where they were🍸 hospitalised, but it never feels that dangerous when you’re throwing your balms.
On the other hand, a𒉰 giant Alpha Honchkrow and its swarm of Murkrow chasing you across the Obsidian Fieldlands had me fearing for my life and worrying about the repercussions of straying too close to its nest. My Pokemon were not equipped to take it on, so I had no choice but to run. Legs aching, lungs burning, and heart pounding, I made it out alive. But I might not be so lucky next time. Even a red-eyed Chansey will do𒁏 you serious harm if you stumble onto its island - that aggro egg feels like a more serious boss than the Gods of Time and Space.
Alpha Pokemon are oversized, overleveled, and overaggressive in all the best waysꦫ. It’s safe to say🍌 they’re the true bosses of Legends: Arceus, and I can’t wait to try to catch them all or die trying.
