One of my favourite parts of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokemon Legends: Arceus is a tiny part of the game. Some people might not have seen it yet, and most who have will have instantly forgotten it. I’m usually not a fan of Pokemon games just giftingꩲ you Mythicals for free, but Cresselia felt different.

It is folded ⛦into a part of the story, which instantly makes it better than some random bloke handing you Mew in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, but as you approach the Lunar Pokemon it has a funny effect on you. You walk towards it, but then you’re walking away from it. Has it teleported like the Lake ꦑGuardians? No, it’s still dead ahead. You move the joystick backwards and you move forwards. Weird. Then it switches again. And again. And again. It’s not much, but it’s confusing, and the purple haze in the air is an otherworldly aura that Cresselia is creating, intoxicating you, and screwing up your controls more than Joy-Con drift.

This funny turn lasts all of thirty seconds once you’ve worked out what’s going on, but it got me thinking of the potential that DLC could give us. And while Pokemon Platinum’s Distortion World does not mess with your senses, neither does Cresselia when you catch it in Gen 4. However, the Distortion World is both one of the creepiest areas of the g♋ame and best additions Platinum ad✱ds to Diamond & Pearl, so I can’t help but dream of a Hisuian reimagining of the area.

Moonblast is one of Cresselia's signature moves

If Game Freak just keeps the blue… distortion of the Distortion World, then it’ll be a bit disappointing. Along with the bosses, the grap💦hics were the biggest letdown of Legends: Arceus, so relying on them in potential DLC would be a mistake. Similarly, the puzzles were never difficult in the game, so turning the Distortion World into some hardcore t▨hird-person platformer as you hop between floating stones seems unlikely and unnecessary. For it to be truly integrated into Hisui, it needs its own Legends spin.

This is why I propose some similar mindfuckery to that of Cresselia. After all, what is Cresselia’s movement-messing aura other than distortion? Really makes you think, huh? But aꦚnyway, the Legends spin on the Distortion World in potential DLC is what Iꦬ want to see more than any other addition. Okay, maybe apart from an ancestral Looker.

While Legends: Arceus has distinct areas and some cool environments, none are particularly memorable. There’s the volcano, but you can only explore one level of it right at the bottom. Other than that, there’s Ramanas Island I guess, but that’s only really cool because of the Alpha Infernape that patrols its shores - they’re once again saving the day and cementing their position as 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the coolest addition to Pokemon in a long while. I thought the Temple of Sinnoh was cool to see reimagined, but the Distortion World would be iconic bℱeyond anything Legends has done before.

Game Freak would likely charge for any DLC, and adding the Distortion World alone would be unlikely to be worth the asking price. Platinum added more Pokemon to Gen 4, so we could get some 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:new addit𓂃ions to the Hisuian ‘ꦚdex, and Wi-Fi battles wouldn’t go amiss to test the game’s new battle system to the max. But if done properly, the Distortion World could be DLC plenty. If it was big enough (a whole Obsidian Fieldlands-sized area) and complicated enough (imagine Cresselia’s shenanigans on 𒁃steroids), then I’d potentially be satisfied.

I could see the Cresselia confusion getting old quick - part of the reason it was so cool when approaching the Mythical beast was due to its brevity - so it would need to be applied selectively and creatively. Perhaps you think you’ve reached Giratina fo♓r it to turn the whole environment upside down, an🍰d your controls flip backwards too? It could be too far, I get that, but if you don’t think Giratina is a Pokemon that would revel in properly messing with your head, then you’re wrong.

If we’re going full stretch, then I don’t see why Hoopa wouldn’t be involved too? Set up some portals, mess up some areas, and potentially hint at a pathway to another world - specifically the Legends: Arceus sequel. Whether that’s 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokemon Legends: Celebi or 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:another region is more deserving (Hoopa might suggest Kalos as the way ꧂forward), it doesn’t matter. I love the Legends formula, and I want more.
