A new Pokemon game has been revealed. This is my second favourite point in the life cycle of any Pokemon game, other than the moment you open it up and play for the first time. Right now, we have scaღnt details, nothing has been spoiled or leaked, and we can freely speculate about every frame of the teaser.

Theories and conspiracies are already proliferating the internet, so I’ve taken the courtesy of rounding up the best, as well as thro🦄wing in some of my 🅠own.

Nature Versus Mankind

Pokemon: Zygarde poses regally.

This is the prevalent theory cropping up in the wake of the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokemon Legends: Z-A trailer. Pokemon X & Y didn’t really focus on the natural versus synthetic side of things, instead laying the theme of life and death on thick. The cover Legendarie🎃s b꧅ack this up, as does the use of the Ultimate Weapon, which draws on Pokemon’s life forces in order to wreak destruction.

However, it’s not to𒐪o difficult to see where the nature versus man-made theory comes from. Zygarde (Z) is a natural Pokemon, made up of cells. Its counterpart (A) could either be a brand new Pokemon antagonist in the vein of Giratina or Mewtwo (more on him later), or the giant AZ, who made the Ultimate Weapon 3,000 years ago. The all-natural Zygarde versus the man-made Ultimate Weapon could be the central theme of Z-A.

Eternal Floette and AZ from Pokemon X & Y

However, Legends: Z-A doesn’t seem to be set 3,000 years ago. This is the renovation of Lumiose, probably set a few hundred years ago. Lumiose is clearly inspired by Paris, so we can try to draw parallels🦂 to the renovation of Paris, in which architects discovered t🐠he catacombs. So maybe in Pokemon Paris, the Lumiosian town planners discover the ruins of the Ultimate Weapon and we see the formation of Team Flare wanting to use it? The weapon seemed to birth Mega Evolution in X & Y’s story, so perhaps that will play into things, too.

Na🦂ture versus Mankind has been a core tenet of Pokemon since the very beginning. It’s the oldest story in all of Pokemon – the first movie ♕is Mew versus Mewtwo – and I could see it coming to the forefront here.

New Mega Evolutions

I’ve already 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:put 🤪my prediction on the line for Mega𒆙 Dragonite (that Dragonair in the trailer was suspiciously not from Gen 6), but it’s safe to say we can expect new Megas from Legends: Z-A. Will Dragoniteite finalꩲly become a thing? Only time will tell, but I’ve got some more theoౠries on the Pokemon that will receive new Mega Evolutions this time around.

The starters are a given, despite the fact that the original Kalos starters didn’t Mega Evolve. The original trio have Mega Evolutions, as do the Gen 3 starters thanks to the Mega-amplified Hoenn remake that launched in Gen 6. If Legends: Z-A follows the Arceus model and uses three randomly picked starters, who knows what’s in store. But I’m on the fence as to whether they’d receive new final forms and new Megas, or just one. It could go either way.

Hisuian Decidueye Spreading Its Wings

With Pokemon Z finally (kind of) here, maybe we’🔯ll see Mega Charizard Z and Mega Mewtwo Z hit the field. Mewtwo in particular would fit that man-made Pokemon theory everyone is pushing.

I think Xerneas and Yveltal will get new forms a lá Dialga and Palkia rather than Megas, but I wouldn’t rule out the latter completely. Zygarde alread💛y has multiple forms, and I’m inclined to believe it will create humanoid 100 percent forms of X & Y’s cover Legendaries rather than give them Mega Stones. After all, these are the bastions of nature, and Mega Stones are a man-made creation.

The Unown

Psychic-type Pokémon Gen 2

I, like many, originally thought the Unown in the trailer were spelling out the region name, but I’ve debunked🦂 that theory already. They spell out the words ‘See you’ in anagram form. Their earlier appearance is similarly an anagram of ‘Pokemon Presents’. The relevance of this? Not a clue, but Zy♉garde is the Order Pokemon, so it’s likely to do with it bringing order out of chaos.

Steampunk Paradox Pokemon

Shiny Magearna with clouds.

Here’s where I’m putting on the tinfoil hat. We’re all convinced that Legends: Z-A is set in the 𝄹past, but the teaser was pretty futuristic. Time travel will obviously play a b💜ig part in the game, but what about time-travelling Pokemon?

Magearna is classed as a Gen 6 My꧟thical, despite the fact that it wasn’t available in X & Y. Its clockwork body is reminiscent of French Revolution-era style, so it could be involved with a game set in that era. If we continue with the nature versus mankind train of thought, Magearna is one of the few man-made Pokemon, along with Mewtwo, Porygon, Type: Null, and others. Check out Magearna’s Pokedex entry from Ultra Moon:

"Built ro﷽ughly 500 years ago by a scientist, the part called the Soul-Heart is the actual life-form."

500 years ago would be about right for Renovation-era Lumiose City. And don’t forget that Original Form Magearna (painted to look like a Poke Ball) is supposedly how it was presented to a princess at that time. Magearna seems ꦅcrucial to this story, and thus its guardian, t♈he similarly man-made Volcanion, may play a role too.

However, does this mean that we could get new Paradox Pokemon in a French Revolution steampunk style? Rather than regional forms like Hisuian Zoroark, do we see underground Pokemon creators building their own steampunk versions of monsters? Perhaps it’s too s🔴imilar to the likes of Miraidon, Iron Treads, and the like, but what if there was ဣa closer connection to Paldea than we think?

The Paldean Connection

Pokemon Violet Area Zero Underdepths Crystals

Now we’re starting to really reach, but genocidal Kalosian giant AZ shares his initials with Paldea’s Area Zero, a great crater in the centre of th𓄧e country that is responsible for the Terastal phenomenon.

Could this crater have been made by the Ultimate Weapon? Could AZ have taken aim at Paldea – a region presumably close to Kalos, if real-world geographical inspirations are anything to go off – and created the gaping hole we explored in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Scarlet & Violet?

The Ultimate Weapon created Mega Evolutions in Kalos, so it’s not unreasonable to believe that it could create Terasatallisation in Paldea. This one’s unlikely, I’ll admit, but I’d love Pokemon to start connecting the games 𝓡more, so I hope it’s true.

Pokemon Devolution

talonflame and fletchling in the pokemon legends z-a trailer

Eagle-eyed fans will have notice🍌d the Talon💃flame in the teaser trailer turns into a Fletchling as it approaches Prism Tower. The change happens off-screen, but the flight path clearly intends to show us that these are the same Pokemon.

Those who kept their tinfꦉoil on from earlier will believe this shows Pokemon devolution is coming, but I fe🐷el like it could just be telling us that we are going back in time. Still, Pokemon Legends: Z-A specifically put its letters in reverse alphabetical order, so perhaps we’re going to be reversing all manner of things in the new game, not just the clocks.

I don’t know how Megas would interact with devolution, however. I could se🐻e Megas and nꦑew Paradox Pokemon coexisting (as Terastallisation and Paradox already does), but devolution seems like an additional evolution gimmick. Still, it would be cool to see.

Legends: Porygon-Z

I’m joking. Or am I?
