You know what the Pokémon franchise needs more of? Kanto. They just never give us enough Kanto. Like, do we have five sets of games where you can visit the Kanto Region? No, we don't. So today, we're going to compare some of the best representations of Kanto, because we love Kanto. Today, we'll be pitting FireRed and LeafGreen against Let's Go, Pikachu and Eevee! Let's get into it.
10 Let's Go, Pikachu And Eevee!: Pokémon Go Connec🎐tivity
The Let's Go! titles' first leg up over FireRed and LeafGreen is their ability to connect with Pokémon Go! How dare a GBA game not be able to do the same? This functionality allows you to send just about any Generation One Pokémon to the games that you'd like. This includes the brand new legendary Pokémon, Meltan, who can only be acquired through Go.
9 FireRed And LeafGreen: Let'sꦅ Go! Handholding
While there is all sorts of unnecessary gating that we've come to expect from Pokémon games, FireRed and LeafGreen at least allow you to have your own adventure. You're not constantly told where to go by Trace. Trace doesn't even exist in these games. That's great. We love that. Being able to actually adventure around Kanto is a huge boon for FireRed and LeafGreen, and allow the games to feel much more open and explorable than Let's Go!
8 Let's G🅠o, Pikachu And Ee🥃vee!: The Graphics
Of course, the graphics are much better in Let's Go! than they are in FireRed and LeafGreen. This comes with the territory though. The games are nearly two decades apart from one another, it only makes sense that Let's Go! feature a sharper polish on the visual side of things. Everything looks crisp and clean, despite the dated region design of Kanto. They don't even have sprites in these games! Wow! Clearly Let's Go! is the winner on the graphical side of things.
7 🐎 ﷽ FireRed And LeafGreen: The Rival
Remember how Let's Go! feature Trace, statistically the worst person? Well, fear not, as FireRed and LeafGreen feature Blue, an all-around awful person as well, but a good rival no♔netheless.
A friendly rival isn't necessarily bad, but Trace is. It's partially due to the game design beign so focused on telling you exactly what to do and how to play, but that doesn't excuse it. Blue is a better rival than Trace is, giving another point to FireRed and LeafGreen. Something feels like we're about to♍ tie it up very, very soon.
6 ꦍ Let's Go, Pikachu And Eevee!🌳: Following Pokémon
If you've ever wanted to be relentlessly chased by a Venusaur, now's your chance. Let's Go! brought back one of the most missed features in all of Pokémon history, following Pokémon. The ability to have your Pokémon follow you wherever you go adds so much personality and charm to the games. It helps the world to feel a bit more alive. This is something that fans had missed for some time, so it was fun to see it finally make a return in Let's Go! Now... bring it back again, please?
5 ༒ FꦺireRed And LeafGreen: Sevii Islands
Oh look, additional content. That's shocking, because Let's Go! really doesn't have that. Besides all of the Master Trainers, there really isn't any reason to keep playing after taking on Leaf and Red. There's not much to do. Extra content like the Sevii Islands helped to fill out FireRed and LeafGreen somewhat. It pushes them to the next level that Let's Go! can't really hit, as there's b✱arely a postgame in those titles. Not even a copy-and-pasted Battle Tower. Like, come on guys at least give us that thing again.
4 ﷽ Let's Go, Pikachu And Eevee!: N🌟o HMs
The partner Eevee and Pikachu that you get in Let's Go! are integral to the gameplay experience,𒅌 you couldn't beat the game without them. They don't just help you with battling. They're the replacements for HMs.
Throughout the titles, Pikachu and Eevee will learn Secret Techniques that allow them to help the player traverse the Kanto Region without the u🤪se of HMs. This is a really nice change, as HMs are one of the most frustrating aspects of older Pokémon titles. In these newer remakes, we don't have to deal with them at all.
3 FireRed And LeafGreen: The Difficulty 💜
FireRed and LeafGreen are the usual difficulty of Pokémon games. The Let's Go! games are not. The partner Pikachu and Eevee are overpowered to the point of hilarity. If you do choose to use your partner Pokémon, they can blast through just about every single enemy you encounter. They have increased stats and exclusive moves that make the game far, far too easy. FireRed and LeafGreen aren't anything too crazy, but the Let's Go! titles are really a joke at times.
2 Let's Go, Pikachu And Eevee!: Co-Op 🍸 ཧ
The Let's Go! titles have a very unique feature in the form of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:drop-in and drop-out co-op play. It's super easy to add a friend into the mix to help yo♒u through any battle of your choice. Strangely, battles aren't doub♈le battles in these situations, but instead just 2v1 battles that are very easy to get through. While this little aspect of the feature is upsetting, it's overall really cool to be able to play through a Pokémon game with a friend or family member. If you really want to, you can find ways to up the difficulty for yourself.
1 FireRed 𝐆And LeafGreen: Non-Kanto Pokémon
The fact that Let's Go! went so archaic to the fact that they only feature Kanto Pokémon? Ridiculous. It was such a strange decision to include only Generation One Pokémon and their Alolanℱ forms. At least let us catch a few and Hoenn Pokémon here and there. This odd choice doesn't help the game in any way. In fact, it only hurts the title as it means that there's less player choice involved.
It seems like there are no Let's Go! games on the table as of now. Honestly, that's p🅺robably 🌊a good thing.
