What? The trainer-focused mobile game is evolving! To mark its upcoming one-year anniversary, Pokémon Masters is transforming into Pokémon Masters EX. The change comes complete with a new logo and special events to signify how thꦅe game has grown since launch. Players will see these updates take effect from the end of August through the beginning of September.
Pokémon Masters first launched on August 28, 2019. The initial trailers captured fan interest by putting the focus on famous Trainers from the games' history. Pokémon still do the battling (in a 3v3 real-time format), but Trainers get the spotlight when it comes to the story. The writers take a deep dive into lore to explore beloved characters and their relationships. Fans immediately took to this new perspective on Pokémon, but were met with server issues an💜d questionable gacha mechanics. In response to c🐠omplaints, the developers became more active in communicating with players and introducing desired content.
Now, a year later, the game is in a much better place. Perhaps one of the best additions to Masters is Sygna Suit characters. These rare pulls put popular Trainers in cool new outfits and pair them with powerful Pokémon. A new Sygna Suit is always cause for celebration, and real-money spending. The anniversary will play into this by featuring Sygna Suit༺ꦿ Cynthia & Kommo-o.
Cynthia is one of the most favored Trainers of all time thanks to her cool demeanor and challenging 🏅Pokémon team. She has plenty of fans who will drop lots of money to summon her, making her the perfect anniversary event prize. Kommo-o is also a pleasant surprise as it's not on Cynthia's main team, giving this version of Cynthia a certain rarity beyond the typical Sygna Suit pair.
Joining Cynthia will be Cyrus & Palkia. The cold, calculating leader of T🅘eam Galactic will feature in a story event that includes Sygna Suit Cynthia. Cyrus and Palkia will automatically join the player's team after the story event is completed, whereas Sygna Suit Cynthia is up to luck of the draw. To top🦹 it off, Lance & Dragonite will return to the Spotlight Scout starting August 19. All three of these special Trainers are available until September 2 at 10:59 p.m. PT.
The celebrations start now, however, as players can take part in a few pre-anniversary events.
