When a Pokemon uses the move Substitute, they summon a dummy that has 25 percent of i𝔉ts max HP. This dummy then absorbs any damage you throw at it, protecting the real target. This is incredibly annoying when you just want to kick some butt and take some names, but instead, find you🐲rself dealing with a pesky imposter.
But there is a selection of moves that can bypass Substitute🔯 and head straight for the target instead. So next time a Pokemon or trainer pulls the Substitute card on you, here are the ten best moves you can use to bypass it.
10 🎃 Disඣarming Voice
Most of the moves that can bypass Substitute are either status effects or sound-related moves because not even a dummy can protect the eardrums of everything on the battlefield. That’s why Disarming Voice is one of the moves that can bypass❀ Substitute.
Disarming Voice is a pretty decent 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Fairy-type move, wit🐼h an attack power of 40. The other great feature of sound-related moves is that they have 100 percent accuracy. There is nothing worse than shooting you𝔉r shot and missing, but with Disarming Voice, you don’t have to worry about that.
9 🍨 Perish Soꦿng
Perish Song is an interes🍰ting move, but when used correctly, it can be extremely helpful. It’s kind of like watching that haunted videotape in The Ring. Once the target Pokemon hears your Perish Song, it wꦐill die in three turns if it’s not switched out.
This move is best used when you are up against a trainer's final Pokemon, or when you are at a type disadvantage and don’t want to miss out on a precious turn by switching out your Pokemon. Since everything on the field hears the haunting melody of Perish Song, it doesn’t matter if your opponent has a crash-test dummy sitting in front of them or not, the song will still reach them.
8 Chatter
If you’ve got a Chatot in your party when someone hits you with a Substitute, they are going to be sorry. Chatot’s signature move, Chatter, completely bypasses Substitute and heads straight for the intended target🧔.
Chatter has an attack power of 60, which is not bad at all. Chatter also has the potential to confuse its target and cause even more damage. It’s definitely a great option to get you out of any sticky Substitute situaౠtions.
7 Round
Round is a pretty good move in itself, hitting with an attack power of 60, and blasting straight through substitutes. But Round has the unique ability to stack. If another Pokemon uses Round after the first one has, it will take its turn immediately afterward, regardless of the usual turn order and the move's power will go up to 120.
This is particularly useful in a double battle. If you have two Pokemon out that both use Round, the chances are your opponent won&rsꦗquo;t last very long, and not even their Substitute can save them.
6 Snore
It may seem counterintuitive to go to sleep during a battle, but thankfully you can still attack while your Pokemon is napping. Snore is pretty much exactly what it sounds like𝓡, the Pokemon ꦰsnores at its opponent with an attack power of 40.
Snore isn’t the strongest move in the world, and it can't be used if the Pokemon isn’t asleep. But after sleeping for two turns, your Pokemon‘s HP will be fully replenished, and you still can cause some damage while you’re doing so, which is a pretty handy combination.
5 🐓 Relic Song
The previous moves haven’t been too shabby and usually come with an interesting twist or two, but now we can get into the hard hitters.💫 There are plenty of moves that can both bypass Substitute and pack a hefty punch, the first of which is Relic Song.
Relic Song, the signature move of the legendary Meloetta, has an attack power of 75. This is definitely on the higher end of the spectrum in terms of attack power, so it is a fantastic option to use if you want to bypass Substitute and potentially wipe out your targe💜t at the same time.
4 Bug Buzz
A bee or a fly buzzing past your ear sends a shiver right up your spine, and they are tiny in comparison to the size of a Vespiquen, so it is easy to see how Bug Buzz could 🌳cause a lot of damage to an opponent.
Bug Buzz has an attack power of 90 which is one of your best options when blasting through substitutes to head straight for your opponent's HP. The only catch is that, as you could imagine, the move can only be learned by a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Bug-type Pokemon.
3 Uproar
Uproar is really where things start heating𝐆 up. It has an attack power of 90, and like all the other sound-based attacks, it can hit through Substitutes. 🎶Uproar lasts three turns, in which the Pokemon goes wild and makes a damage-inducing racket.
The Pokemon makes so much noise during Uproar's duration that no one can go to sleep during that time. That means that even if the opponent Pokemon tries to put you to sleep in an attempt to stop the onslaught, it won't do a thing.
2 Hyper Voice ꦐ
Hyper Voice is another hard-hitting physical mov🌜e that can bypass Substitute. 🌜It has an attack power of 90, so if you liked the sound of Bug Buzz but didn’t have a Bug-type Pokemon, Hyper Voice could be the next best thing.
Hyper Voice is another sound-based attack, so while it is perfect for bypassing Substitute, it won’t work on a Pokemon that has the Soundproof ability. There are a lot of Pokemon that could have this ability, ranging from Pokemon that make a lot of noise themselves, like Loudred, to ones that obviously𒈔 don’t have any ears, like Electrode.
1 Boomburst
Boomburst is by far the hardest-hitting move that can bypass Substitute, and wi🦹th an attack power of 140, it’s early to see why. Boomburst essentially emulates the sound of a bomb, absolutely obliterating the eardrums of the opposing Pokemꦺon.
Boomburst is an epic move, to begin with, but its added ability to bypass Substitute only makes it even better. If you have a Pokemon on your team that is capable of learning Boomburst, it should defin🤪itely be in its move set.
