Even if you are an absolute Pokemon Master and have all the type advantages memorized, you can still easily get caught out by them, especially if you wipe out one of your opponent's Pokemon and they send a new one out. If someone sends out a Milotic when your Growlithe is already out on the field, for example, you might find yourself at a huge disadvantage.
Switching your Pokemon out costs valuable time in battle. But thankfully, you can change your Mon's type in a pinch with a specialized move. There are several Pokemon moves out there that can change a Pokemon’s type.
10 Reflec🌞t Type 𒀰
Reflect Type is a Normal-type move that can change the user's type to match its opponents. This move is particularly handy because it can successfully reflect any type, even if it’s disguised by Illusion.
Many type-changing moves have a predetermined type that the user becomes, but Reflect Type ⛄is far more flexible. Most Pokemon types, with the exception of some like Dragon-type, aren’t super effective against each other. So Reflect Type can easily back you out of some pretty tight corners.
9 ꧃ Trick-Or-Treat 𓃲
Trick-or-Treat is 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the signature move of Pumpkaboo and Gourgeist, and it is an essential move that should always be in their move set. Pumpkaboo and Gourgeiꦍst are Ghost-type Pokemon, and Trick-or-Treat transforms the target into a Ghost-type as well, adding a second type to whatever their origin is.
This is uniquely handy since Ghost moves are completely ineffective against Normal-type Pokemon. If your Gourgeist knows Trick-or-Treat, however, your opponent will become a Normal/Ghost-type and will no longer be immune to your attacks. It is a great way to work around the Achilles' heel of Ghost-type Pokemon.
8 Forest's Curse
Forest’s Curse is similar to Trick-or-Treat,♓ but it’s the Grass-type version. Forest’s Curse is the signature move of Phantump and Trevenant and successfully adds the Grass-type to the target.
This move isn’t quite as handy as Trick-or-Treat since Grass moves at least do something to ever💮y🦋 type, but it can still be super handy if you find yourself going head-to-head against a Fire-type Pokemon.
7 Burn Up
Burn Up is a unique move that can be particularly handy if the user is frozen. Burn Up has two possible effects. First, it can thaw your Pokemon out if it’s frozen. Burn Up also removes your Pokemon’s Fire-typing. Couple this with its attack power of 130, and you'll see how useful it can be.
Apparently, if a Pokemon is frozen, it can muster up all of its inner fire strength and blast out of it completely. Your Pokemon won’t be a Fire-type anymore, but hey, at least it won't be frozen, either.
6 ♔ Camouflage
Camouflage changes a Pokemon's type to correspond with the battlefield terrain. This gives them multiple different type options that will be unique to each location. The type the Pokemon will become depends entirely on the current terrain. Camouflage used to be the signature move of Staryu, though newer generations have given the move to more Pokemon.
But although the types are different in each game, they all make꧃ logical sense. For example, if you are in a snowy area, Staryu will transform into 😼an Ice-type, or a Grass-type in forest areas.
5 💖 Magic 🅘Powder
In Generation 8, Hatterene got its own signature move, Magic Powder. Magic Powder can change the target Pokemon’s type to pure Psychic. Signature moves can be niggly since only one type of Pokemon caᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚn learn it normally, but there are other ways you can pass on signature moves.
Some signature moves can also be inherited throꦆugh breeding. This could be handy in Hatterene’s case since the move isn’t learned organically untꦕil level 64.
4 Soak
If you find your Pokemon going up against a Grass-type, hitting that Pokemon with 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the Water move Soak will transform it into a pure Water-type. This move will work with any type, even on a Pokemon that’s already a Water type, but using it against a Grass Pokemon is ideal for removing your opponent's type advantage.
Soak can also be learned by 🃏a range of different Pokemon, so it is more flexible than a signature move such as Magic Powder or Trick-or-Treat.
3 Roost
Roost is a unique move with a couple of different effects. Rather than changing the opponent's type like many moves on this list, Roost changes the user's type. For one turn, the Pokemon that uses Roost will lose its Flying-type, and if it's a pure Flying-type, it'll become a Normal-type.
When a Pokemon uses the move Roost, it will regain half of its HP. However, while you do get a large chunk of your HP back by us🦩ing this move, make sure you are not going up against a type that c🍰an mow you down without the protection of your Flying-type.
2 Relic ꦫSong
Relic Song is the signature move of Meloetta, and it's packed with potential. It has an attack power of 75, has a 10 percent chance of putting the target to sleep, and if it hits its target, it will change Meloetta's form.
Meloetta has 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:two different forms. One is its Aria Forme, making it a Normal/Psychic-type, and the other is its Pirouette Forme, making it a Normal/Fighting-type. Both types feature different base stats. Relic Song can 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:also bypass Substitute.
1 Transform
Transform changes more than just a Pokemon’s type. By successfully using the move Transf✱orm, a Pokemon can 𝓡change into a carbon copy of its opponent. That means that if you are going up against a Charizard and you use Transform, your Pokemon will also become a Charizard.
Only three Pokemon can use Transform. Ditto, Mew, and Smeargle if it copies the move using Sketch. Transform does have the same effect as Ditto's Imposter ability, however, so if your Ditto has that ability, you don't need to teach it the move as well.
