Rillaboom is one of the three wonderful final starter evolutions in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokémon Sword & Shield. While Inteleon might be unique as a s🌞niper, and Cinderace is thematic as a soccer player, Rillaboom’s giant drum and stature give it a beautiful look that sticks out among its peers.

If you chose Grookey at the beginning of your game, or wish to train one before it gets its own Gigantamax form in the upcoming Isle of Armor DLC, there’s a ton of moves and 🍰battle styles to choose from. Here are five of the best movesets you can teach it, and five that aren’t worth your time.

10 Great: (Sola🦄r Blade, Sunny Day, Superpower,ꦺ U-Turn)

If you want a way to set up an alarmingly powerful attack, Rillaboom’s high physical strength makes use of one of the best new moves in the Pokémon series. Solar Blade works exactly like Solar Beam, charging up for one turn or firing immediately in sunlight before deali✨ng a huge amount of Grass-type physical damage.

There aren’t man🐻y ways for Rillaboom to take advantage of the Sunny Day weather condition, but it's high defensive stats helps it survive a hit while setting it up. If the Grass-type attack doesn’t work, you can always use an unexpected Fighting-type move like Superpower, or escape with U-Turn into someone who can use the sunlight better to save you.

9 🐼 Awful: (Boomburst, Frenzy Plant, Focus Blast, Snarl) 💖

Rillaboom learns a huge amount of moves that take advantage of high Special Attack stats. Boomburst and Frenzy 𝓀Plant have some of th💙e highest power in the game, so it can be tempting to give these moves to your musical monkey.

Unfortunately, these are a trap and should be mostly ignored. Unless the attack has a💃 secondary effect that you could use, Rillaboom’s Special Attack is the lowest of its otherwise even spread of stats. These moves will deal a fair amount of damage still, but not anywhere near as much as its weaker physical moves.

8 𝄹 Great: (Drum Beating, Knock O⛄ff, Screech, Razor Leaf)

While this might not exactly be competitive, most of𝕴 Rillaboom’s moves don’t need much breeding or TMs to learn. Its best move is Drum Beating, which it learns upon evolving and lowers its opponent’s speed on impact. This can help your slightly sluggish Rillaboom stay way ahead in a longer battle.

Besides this important move, the rest of the moves you learn just before evolving are all totally fine moves. Screech adds to your physical damage, and Knock Off can be a fun trick against Pokémon with held items. The only useless move is Razor Leaf, which is made redundant by having Drum Beating as a stronger  move, but it's easily replaceable by any move you🎐 wish.

7 Awful: (Uproar, Wood Hammer, Endeavor, Boomburs🍷t)

While Rillaboom is great right upon evolution, don’t go thinking that every move it learns is good. Wood Hammer is the 🥃only real standout, dealing a massive amount of damage at the cost of some recoil towards itself.

Besides that, a lot of its natural moves aren’t anywhere near as effective. Endeavor is extremely hard to make work effectively, Boomburst's damage𓆉 is based on Rillaboom's terrible Special Attack stat, and Uproar is rarely useful anywhere. Don’t be afraid to say no to these new attacks that Rillaboom learns in later levels.

6 Great: (Drain Punch, Leech Seed, Substitute, Giga Drain) 🌳 ꧟

Tons of Pokémon can do this stall strategy, but Rillaboom is an underrated user of this moveset. The idea is to set up Leech Seed and Substitute🥀 early while taking some hits, then🍌 attacks like Drain Punch will heal you back up while your opponent’s health slowly drains out.

Whileꦜ Giga Drain is a special move, its ability to restore your health against foes that might be resistant to Drain Punch makes it a good final move. If you want something a little more reliable, you can always add in Drum Beating instead for some better raw damage.

5 Awful: (Fling, Knock Of🗹f, Fake Out, U-Turn)

While Rillaboom learns a lot of tr🌺icky moves that can make it a ♔great staller, it doesn’t do so well as a support member of your party. Moves like Knock Off and Fake Out might be useful moves, but when they come at the cost of damage, they aren’t worth it.

All of these moves canღ be helpful, but you certainly don’t n꧙eed all of them. Most movesets for any Pokémon do well with at least one move that isn’t centered on damage, but you generally just want pure power.

4 🐻 Great: (Swords Dance, Wo💙od Hammer, Earthquake, Fake Out)

Rillaboom has a wonderful combination of aggression and bulk, so it works better as a Swords Dance user than most other Pokémon. By doubling its Attack stat, moves like Wood Hammer and Earthquake can 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:annihilate opponents in one hit, and with its high health, you might🔯 not need a Focus 𝓰Sash or an ability like Sturdy to set it up.

The finishing touch on this is Fake Out, which can waste an opponent’s Focus Sash it💛em or Sturdy ability when swapping in. Your natural attack is strong enough that even if things go wrong, you’ll still take down a noticeable amount of your opponent’s health.

3 ෴ 🧸 Awful: (Rest, Sleep Talk, Wood Hammer, Knock Off)

There is certainly a strategy to this moveset that might be appealing. Becaus🔥e of the recoil caused by Wood Hammer, using Rest to restore your health can theoretically give you a be🔯tter chance at surviving. With moves like Sleep Talk and Knock Off, you can also keep yourself ahead of your opponent.

That said, this strategy works much better on Pokémon t𒅌hat can defend itself further. Milotic is a great Sleep Talk user since its Marvel Scale ability increases its Defense stat while it has a status ailment, and suits this style of moveset much better. Rillaboom has great defenses, but not enough to 🅰use this odd method.

2 Great: (Wood Hammer, Sup🎀erpower, U-Turn, Earthꦆquake)

Rillaboom’s defensive stats shouldn’t be ignored, but what it does better than anything else is ruthless aggression. With a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Life Orb or Choice Band equipped, these heavy impact attacks can take down tons of opponents with no setup, just a clean and firm💜 attack.

There’s also a useful package of Superpower and U-Turn. The first of these moves will decrease your stats after use, but with U-Turn, you can immediately swap to a new teammate and switch back into your normal stats later in the battle. U-Turn itself ♓also gives you a great way to escape against an opponent who resists all of your moves.

1 Awful: (Drum Beating,💎 Bulldoze, Bulk Up, Body Slam) ꦡ

Rillaboom's stat-decreasing moves aren’t terrible, but when you compare it to the damage you can do with other movesets it’s hardly worth it. Drum Beating and Bulldoze bꦗoth decreas꧙e your opponent’s speed, but both having a lower power than your heavier moves means that you can’t take much advantage of your higher speed.

Bulk Up and Body Slam are similar to these, providing useful effects, but there are just better options for. It isn’t unhelpful to increase your Attack and Defense with Bulk Up, or to have a chance to Paralyze with Body S𝔍lam, but you need a strong finishing move as well. These four moves are good, but you need some power to kick your foe while you’re ahead.
