With so many Pokemon being introduced, the meta revolving around the competitive scene is constantly evolving. Pokemon rise and fall through the various tiers, while 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:certain moves and abilities 𒈔get banned. The meta changes so often that it's often hard to keep track of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:what is considered 'good'. This is especially true when it comes to doubl🐓e battles.

When double battles were first introduced, they required a new way of thinking. The Pokemon that you sent out had to, in some way, complement one another to the point where they at least didn't hinder one another. There have been numerous combinations of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokemon, abilities and moves put together over the years to overcome the current meta for this type of battling. At this point in time, here are some of the strongest combiꦺnations for the double battle format.

7 ⭕ Neutrali🌠zing Gas Regigigas

Regigigas Without Limitations

Regigigas is a monster of a Pokemon. It has one of the highest Attack stats in the entire series, and decent Speed on top. As a limit to Regigigas' power, it was given the Slow Start ability, which halves Regigigas' Attack and Speed stats for five turns. Because of this, many players initially turned away from using Regigigas, as it was more detrimental than helpful. However, Sword and Shield introduced a regional form of a certain Pokemon, which brought the perfect ability to the table.

When 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Galarian Weezing was first introduced, not a lot of people knew what to think of it. A new form of Weezing with new typing, it didn't seem all that special — until its ability was unveiled. When a Pokemon with Neutralizing Gas enters the field, all other abilities are suppressed, including Slow Start. This means that when paired with this new form of Weezing, Regigigas can get going on turn one.

6 🐬 Tailwind Fishious Rend

The Broken Team Of Whimsicott And Dracovish

When Sword and Shield were first released, the meta was forever changed by one Pokemon in particular; Dracovish. This goofy-looking fossil Pokemon was able to break the meta, to the point where it was banned from Smogon's OU tier and sent to the Uber tier alongside the likes of Mewtwo and Arceus. Its Strong Jaw ability, coupled with Fishious Rend — an 85 power move that doubles in strength if the user moves first — is a combination that makes Dracovish terrifying in battle. It only becomes stronger in doubles.

Dracovish truly shines when paired with Whimsicott. With the Prankster ability, Whimsicott gains priority on status type moves such as Tailwind, which boosts the Speed of Whimsicott and its team. Add Dracovish's Fishious Rend to the mix, and possibly a Choice Band, and you'll be knocking out Water types in a single hit.

5 🌱 Double Round

Primarina's STAB Round

The move Round is relati𝕴vely weak compared to most move🅺s, with only 60 base power. However, it has the added effect that if another Pokemon uses Round in the same turn, the user will not only move directly after the first use of Round (regardless of their Speed), but the power of the second Round will be doubled. This alone makes Round powerful, especially in double battles, and can be even greater when paired with Pokemon that have certain abilities.

There are two abilities that, when paired with Round, make for a broken combination — Liquid Voice and Pixilate, belonging to Primarina and Sylveon respectively. With Liquid Voice, all sound-based moves gain the Water typing, giving Primarina STAB. Likewise, Pixilate turns all Normal-type moves into Fairy-type moves. Give either of these two Pokemon Round and Choice Specs, then pair them with a fast Pokemon such as Accelgor, who also has Round, and you can potentially down at least one of your opponent's Pokemon before they even have a turn.

4 After You Focus Punch ꦍ ♎

Focus Punch Actually Working

Focus Punch has a reputation for being a terrible move. It has the highest base power of any Fighting-type move, save for Sirfetch'd's Meteor Assault, but it comes with a catch. At the start of the turn, a Pokemon using Focus Punch will start focusing. If that Pokemon is struck by a move during this time, Focus Punch immediately fails. Because of this, many people tend to shy away from this move, as it requires a lot of jumping through hoops to get it to work properly. That said, there is an easy way around all of this.

168澳洲幸运5开奖网:After You is a move that was introduced in Generation V. The target of this move immediately takes its turn, regardless of where it is in the turn order. When used on a Pokemon that is tightening its focus, it will immediately use Focus Punch rather tha🍸n waiting for the end of the turn. With this combination, you can use Focus Punch whenever you like, with little planning.

3 🅠 Beat Up The Lucario

Whimsicott Beats Up On Lucario

The Justified ability was introduced back during Generation V, and was synonymous with the Swords of Justice. When struck with a Dark-type move, those with the Justified ability will gain an increase in their Attack stat. This was meant to symbolize how heroes such as the Swords of Justice will never fall to the forces of darkness, only strengthen their resolve. I💞n the competitiv🌟e scene, this led to a truly broken combination.

Luc꧅ario, a Pokemon that can also have the Justified ability, has the added benefit of being a Pokemon with a decent amount of Defense and Health, especially when Dynamaxed. Team Lucario up with a fast Pokemon with access to Beat Up, a move that delivers a strike for each conscious Pokemon on your team. Have this Pokemon target your Dynamaxed Lucario, and the Aura Pokemon gets an instant plus six to its Attack.

2 🐟 ܫ The Dancing Muk

Dancer Oricorio And Power Of Alchemy Muk

This combination, unfortunately, can only be used in Pokemon Sun and Moon or in Pokemon Showdown, as this team requires the use of Oricorio. More specifically, it needs its ability. Dancer, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:an ability exclusive to Oricorio and its different forms. It allows Oricorio to mimic a "dance" move, regardless of its speed. Using a 🍬dance move through this ability counts as a separate move, so the originally selected move still goes through.

Now, this ability isn't all that strong when paired with an Oricorio, but it can be incredibly powerful when given to Alolan Muk. This regional variation of Muk gets the ability Power of Alchemy. When an ally Pokemon faints, this ability is replaced by that of the Pokemon which faints. So, if Oricorio faints while Muk is on the field, Muk will immediately gain the Dancer ability. Throw in a Pokemon with Dragon Dance to replace Oricorio, then your Muk will not only be dancing, but will also be able to attack and defend all at the same time. This combination also works with Passimian and its Receiver ability.

1 🀅 🌜Typeless Wonder Guard

The Invincible Growlithe

We all remember the notorious Wondertomb, the hacked 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Spiritomb from Generation IV that had Wonder Guard as its ability? This thing terrorized the competitive scene for years, since nothing could touch a Ghost and Dark-type Pokemon with Wonder Guard until Generation VI brought in Fairy types. Since then, there hasn't been a Pokemon with no weakness that could gain immunity through Wonder Guard, but what if you could make such a Pokemon and do it legally?

Setting this combination takes a little more effort than some other collaborations. There isn't a correct way to go about it, but somehow you need to be able to pass off Shedninja's ability to a pure Fire type. Specifically, a Fire type that is capable of learning Burn Up. Once said Fire type has acquired Wonder Guard and has used Burn Up, they become typeless. They no longer get STAB for any of their moves, but they also lose all of their weaknesses. This means that with Wonder Guard, they are untouchable.
