Rental Decks may come as a surprise to some players since it's possible to unlock one or more Rental Decks before you even unlock battles. But they're useful for learnin꧙g the game and for powering through the Step-Up Battles that serve as a tutorial until you build your own deck.

What Are Rental Decks?

Rental Decks are limited-use decks that you can unlock by meeting certain requirements. Once you've unlocked a Rental Deck, you'll be able to use it for ten games, after which it will no longer be available.

Rental Decks are designed to introduce players to more advanced strategies than the Beginner deck you receive once you unlock Battles at level three. Usually these decks are built around a specific powerful Pokemon, like Venusaur ex, but som🐈e are built around a theme or Supporter card.

Although you'll be able to play with any Rental Deck that you unlocked, the cards are not registered to your collection. However, if you collect all 20 c🐠ards in the Rental Deck, you'll receive the deck list and be able to buꦓild it from the New Deck menu.

How To Unlock Rental Decks

The only way to unlock a Rental Deck is to add the highlight card or cards to your collection.

A highlight card is the card that the deck is built around and named after. For e🥀xample, the highlight card of the Blaine deck is the Supporter, Blaine.

It doesn't matter which version of the highlight card you get: if you're lucky enough to pull a three-star Immersive Charizard ex, you'll unlock the Charizard ex Rental Deck, despite that deck only including the normal four-diamond p𓄧rint.

Some Rental Decks have multiple highlight cards, such as the Nidoqueen and Nidoking Rental Deck. In order to unlock these decks, you'll need to obtain all the highlight cards.
