When most people think of scary Pokémon, they168澳洲幸运5开奖网: probably think of Ghost-types, which ar🔯e famed for their creepy and sometimes horrifying in-game lore, often sourced from their Pokédex entries.
But, the horrors of the Pokémon world are not only the domain of Ghost-types, as there are mܫany other scary creatures that yo🐠u wouldn't want to run into alone. Let's take a look at some of the other types that have horrifying Pokémon amongst their midst — Ghost-types have been taking the flack for far too long.
10 Shiinotic
A recently-introduced Grass/Fairy-type, Shiinotic is a bit of a creepy thing to encounter in the forest at night. Ignoring the fact that it looks like radioactive Mr. Burns from the Simpsons, Sh🐎iinotic already has a bit of an unsettling appearance, looking like a little poisonous alien with staring eyes.
Its Pokédex entries don't help its case, either. It's said that 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Shiinotic-inhabited forests are "treacherous" to enter 🌠at night. It confuses people with its lights and they "can never find their way home again." It also siphons vitality from its prey after they're lulled asleep.
9 Gorebyss
Gorebyss, a Water-type from Generation III, is known for being a very beautiful fish. Its slender pink design is a nice contrast from its evolutionary counterpart, Huntail, which looks like it would be the scary or aggressive one between the two of♔ them.
However, looks can be deceiving, because it's actually 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Gorebyss that's the scary one. Gorebyss is said to be "cruel," and it inserts its tube-like mouth 💝into its prey and drains their body fluids. It then leaves the leftover meat to sink to the bottom of the sea, where other Pokémon can feast on it.
8 Parasect
Paras is one of the first Pokémon introduced in the series, all the way back in Generation I. It's a small crab-like insect kn🧸own for the poisonous mushrooms that grow on its back. These mushrooms are known as tochukaso, and they are not ac൩tually part of Paras, technically, as they can be removed and are added to its body at birth when they fall off of the mother.
These mushrooms are parasitic, and they feast off of Paras' body. When Paras evolves into Parasect, the tochukaso takes over the entire host, and Parasect becomes basically a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:zombie to the parasite. That's why its eyes are blank.
7 Bewear
168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Bewear is a Figh🍰ting/Normal-type Pokémo🅰n from Generation VII that looks like a giant cuddly teddy bear. ܫHowever, this is one teddy you don't want to snuggle. Bewear has incredible physical strength and is considered "immensely dangerous" by the Pokédex. It apparently has a habit of hugging its companions.
The Pokédex states that "many trainers have left this world after their spines were squashed by its hug." It also offers hugs to new friends as a sign of affection, but it frequently crush꧂es all of their bones. This cuddly-looking teddy waves its hands as a sign of intimidation, and "life is over for anyone who doesn't run away as fast as possible."
6 Cacturne
Cacturne, the Grass/Dark-type from Generation III, is already creepy-looking. Luckily, it has creepy behaviour to go along with its appearance. 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:This cactus Pokémon is 🙈nocturnal, staying almost perfectly still duri💧ng the day to save moisture in the desert.
However, at night, it starts to hunt. And yes, it will sometimes hunt humans. It's said that Cacturne form "ragtag group[s]" and follow a traveler through🐠 the desert. They are apparently "biding their time, waiting for the traveler to tire and become incapable of moving."
5 Drowzee
It's a rare occurrence that Pokémon are directly said to attack humans. Usually, it's said that Pokémon attack "foes" or "prey," and it can be inferred that it's possible for that to be a human. Drowzee, however, is 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:explicitly stated to prey on humans. Well, it preys on their dreams. Drowzee its dreams for food, and it is said to "rarely" eat the dreams of adults because "children's are much tasti🌺er."
One entry even states "If your nose becomes itchy while you are sleeping, it's a sure sign that one ♛of these Pokémon is standing above your pillow anꦚd trying to eat your dream through your nostrils." Yikes.
4 Sliggoo
It's no secret168澳洲幸运5开奖网: that the Goomy line (consisting of Goomy, Sliggoo, and G💖ood𒊎ra) is kind of gross. They're all slimy, wet creatures that goop and glob around. But, Sliggoo is also terrifying if you look into its in-game lore. It's blind because its eyes devolved, so it uses other senses to "see," which causes issues.
Its body is made of a gross gooeyꦏ mucus that can 🌱dissolve anything, and it uses it to dissolve its prey before slurping them up. That's gross, of course, but it gets scary when you learn that the blind Sliggoo has trouble figuring out what is friend and what is food. It often melts its friends and tries to eat them.
3 Xatu
Sometimes what could be is scarier than what ha💛s already come to pass. This foreboding danger is often much more terrifying than what we already know. Xatu provides us wit💯h that foreboding future presence of something awful.
It's said that Xatu can see the past with one eye and the future with the other﷽. It stand꧟🍌s perfectly still, following the sun's movements all day. They say it stands still out of paralyzing fear of what it has seen int he future.
2 Hattrem
Hattrem might look like a cute little cuddly Pokémon, but it's actually a horrifying monster. that if you꧃ bring strong emotions near it, it will "silence you vio♊lently."
Its braids are powerful enough to knock out a pro boxer, and it "pummels foes to get them to quiet down" with those braids. It doesn't get any less scary when it evolve🧸s. Hatterene, the evolved form, will apparently tear you apart with its claws if you are too loud.
1 Elgyem
Elgyem is one of the many Pokémon that is thought to be from space. This alien creature is also pretty terrifying, as many aliens probably would be. Linked to a UFO crash, Elgyem has strange psychic powers that allow it to 🧔cause headaches in others' brains. When it stands near television sets, strange scenery appears on the screen. Apparently, people believe this scenery to be from its home planet.
Its evolution, Beeheyem, ⛦is capable of rewriting opponents' memories. The Pokédex even states that "you, too, may have already had your memories rewritten." Um, no thanks.
