168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokemon Scarlet And Violet's open-ended trio of storylines provide some beautiful moments and surprisingly challenging battles, headlined by clever usage of Terastallizing. While some of the most hyped matches – like the long-awaited battle against Geeta – fall short, there are several top-notch encounters with the diverse cast of Gym Leaders, and other key figures just waiting for you.

While the freedom to choose your own adventure makes Scarlet and Violet a joy to experience, you can end up inadvertently spiking the difficulty if you bite off more than you can chew. If you take things slowly and level up your Pokemon, then most battles should be easy enough. However, some trainers are tricky and willꦿ test your mettle on the quest to become the strongest trainer in Paldea.

This article contains spoilers for Scarlet & Violet's story.

10 ꦯ Hassel - Elite Four

Hassel about to send out his Pokemon in Scarlet and Violet.

The Elite Four's resident 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Dragon-type specialist challenges even the most prepared teams, as his Haxorus and Dragalge can easily One-Shot Knockout (OHKO) most of their counters with powerful coverage moves. Haxorus shreds both Fairy and Ice-type Pokemon with Iron Head, while Dragalge's Sludge Bomb is a nightmare for Fairy-types like Azumarill.

Perhaps the best way to go about this battle is to teach Ice and Fairy-type moves to Pokemon of another type or Terastallize to nullify Hassel's coverage options. Though, with access to Dragon, Ice, Fighting, Electric, Rock, Steel, Water, Flying, and Grass moves, it will prove difficult to remain completely safe without carefully selecting the proper switch-ins.

9 🍸 Ryme - Ghost Gym 𓄧

Pokemon Scarlet Ryme Gym Guide

Ryme's intimidating bars and edgy personality portray her as a force to be reckoned with, and the MC of R.I.P. doesn't disappoint her fans. Ryme's team caps out at level 42, making her a decently challenging Gym Leader who should be taken on toward the end of your badge-collecting.

Ryme will be the only Gym Leader to force you into a double battle, which may make this fight easier if you pick a well-paired duo. However, the double-edged sword here is that Ryme can easily gain the advantage if you don't take out her Pokemon quickly, as allowing her Mimikyu to set up Light Screen while Banette lowers your Speed with Icy Wind can be a recipe for disaster.

8 ꦉ Grusha - Ice Gym

Grusha stretching right before battle.

Grusha is the intended final Gym Leader on your road to the Elite Four, issuing a true test of your skill as his Pokemon have some potentially problematic Abilities and a tricky Terastallization. His Frosmoth and Beartic should be easy to brush aside, but his Cetitan with Thick Fat will be able to hit back against Fire-type Pokemon with a⛦ Liquidation.

His ace Pokemon, Altaria is no slouch at level 48 and will quickly turn the tables by eliminating its quadruple weakness to Ice by becoming that very type. It wouldn't be wise to use Fighting-type Pokemon against it unless you can secure an OHKO, as Altaria can surprise foes with a Hurricane or Moonblast that will put you on your heels.

7 ꧑ Eri - Team🦂 Star

Eri posing on Revaroom

Eri's fight is arguably the hardest of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:all the Team Star Bosses, boasting a team of Fighting-type Pokemon that make excellent use of their raw power and powerful dual-typings. Her Pokemon easily exceed any Gym Leader's, with her Annihilape and Caph Starmobile each clocking in at level 56.

Annihilape is one of the generation's most powerful Physical attackers, with access to Rage Fist, Close Combat, and elemental Punch moves that will cover most of her bases. A fast Psychic-type Pokemon like Espathra will do wonders against Eri's team, but Toxicroak and Annihilape are well-prepared with moves that can decimate your Ostrich if you give them the chance.

6 Iono - ꦇElectric Gym 🧸

Iono looking dazed during her Gym Leader Battle

Iono will likely be one of the first three Gym Leaders you face if you don't wander too far off the beaten path. Despite her relatively low-level team (her ace is level 24), this streamer can cause huge problems for teams that haven't expanded to include a variety of coverage options.

Her most infamous team member is her Mismagius, who can usually be dealt with fairly easily. However, this mischievous ghost eliminates all her weaknesses when she changes to Tera Electric, as Mismagius' Levitate ability negates all Ground-type moves, Electric's only weakness. Confuse Ray can leave you frustrated as you struggle to whittle Mismagius down. Facing this conundrum so early in the game means your team likely won't have the raw damage to OHKO Mismagius, so take a prudent approach to your strategy.

5 Nemona - Champion Battle ജ💯

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Nemona prepares for battle with her Poke Ball.

Nemona's ace Pokemon will vary depending on the starter that is weak to your choice, but her other five Pokemon are fearsome opponents. You can expect to be switching often in this battle if you hope to maintain type advantage, as Nemona's Pokemon have access to about 10 different move types that will cause problems if you try to tank her attacks.

Nemona's major weakness is Fighting-type attacks, as her Lycanroc, Orthworm, and Dudunsparce can be dispatched without much fear of being knocked out. Her Goodra and Pawmot each present dangerous propositions if you allow them to fire off attacks like Close Combat and Dragon Pulse, as they pack quite a punch at level 65.

4 🍌 🍰 Arven - Second Battle

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: Arven looking stoic.

After the initial battle against his Skwovet, you won't battle Arven again for quite a while, giving him ample time to improve his team. Once you do reach his second battle after completing all the Titan fights, you'll realize why Arven needed your help: he was busy training an incredibly diversified team.

Arven's Pokemon range from 58 to 63, placing him clearly in the intended endgame route, so don't skip the Gym Challenge if you hope to stand a chance. Toedscruel and Scovillain are the only Pokemon that share a type in Grass, but his team's movesets feature about a dozen different types capable of dealing with almost anything. The hardest part of the battle, however, might be against his ace, Mabosstiff – after all the work to heal him, it hurts to knock out such a good boy.

3 Director Cl🌊avell - First Battle

Director Clavell delivering a rousing speech.

Clavell boasts a team much like Nemona's with three fixed Pokemon, the starter Pokemon that is strong against the one you chose, and two of three other Pokemon, also based on your starter. All team members are at level 60, save for whichever one of Meowscarada, Skeledirge, or Quaquaval he has at 61.

His static trio of Oranguru, Abomasnow, and Polteageist present a puzzling challenge, as their movesets are much more strategic than other trainers', utilizing status moves like Yawn and Will-O-Wisp that will stop your offense dead in its tracks. Clavell's rotating options also present danger as Houndoom, Amoonguss, and Gyarados boast incredible firepower and additional status effects to navigate.

2 Larry🐓 - Elite Fඣour

Pokemon Scarlet Violet Larry prepares to throw his Poke Ball.

Though he may be beloved by many due to his exceedingly down-to-Earth demeanor, Larry's Elite Four rematch poses a diabolical challenge. His Flying-focused team hovers around level 59, with powerful pivots like Tropius, Staraptor, and Altaria that put the pressure on with their powerful coverage options.

However, Larry's undisputed ace, Flamigo, comes with Brave Bird, Close Combat, Throat Chop, and Liquidation that can catch you off guard if you haven't done your homework. Keep in mind that Flamigo possesses the Scrappy Ability, which means even Ghost-type Pokemon won't be able to avoid this ferocious bird's attacking onslaught.

1 AI Sada And AI Turo 🔜

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Turo/Sada

In addition to 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:one of the best designs in Sca♓rlet and Violet, Professors Sada and Turo offer fittingly climactic fights, as they boast a full team of each version's exclusive Paradox Pokemon hovering around level 65. If you weren't familiar with your version exclusives by this point, then the Professors have quite a lesson to teach you.

Professor Sada's Roaring Moon and Professor Turo's Iron Valiant are incredibly powerful ace Pokemon that you will struggle to deal with if you don't have a proper counter prepared as they each boost their preferred attacking stats by 30 percent due to their held Booster Energy items. Make sure you've trained hard, as these Professors are two of the strongest trainers in any Pokemon game.
