The Teal Mask DLC, the third-ever piece of DLC released for a Pokemon game brings with it the new land of Kitakami, brand-new characters, and a story based around an inversion of the folk tale of Momotaro. It's not an exceptionally long adventure, but the real joy in Pokemon has always been, well, the Pokemon.
The Teal Mask adds around 100 returning Pokemon to the game but adds a handful of brand-new ones as well. It wouldn't be Pokemon without new Pokemon after all. Though some of the new legendaries are a bit hit-or-miss (mainly miss), there are some really fun new ones too, in terms of both design and ability.
8 Dipplin
Apples are a pretty great fruit. They're super common, come in a bunch of varieties, and are super versatile. An apple can be turned into anything, even a Pokemon. Introduced in Gen 8, Applin isn't actually an apple, but a little worm inhabiting the apple. Like a turtle and their shell, basically.
Applin already had two evolutions, but The Teal Mask 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:adds a third one in Dipplin. It's just like a regular Applin, but dipped in a sugary-sweet syrup. They're all about slowing opponents down, so they can't escape your attacks. Plus, there are two worms in your apple now, which is to be expected with all that sugar.
7 🌺 Poltchageist
Beloved Pokemon of the Brits- uh, the people of Galar, Sinistea was a wonderful little te꧂acup that just so happened to become inhabited by a ghost Pokemon. Fun f༺act: they possess you if you drink from their mug. That must explain the British.
Plain old black tea isn't a universal treat though, and the land of Kitakami has a diverging form of Sinistea all of its own - Poltchageist. Styled after a pot of matcha, they are much more built around support play, offering health to all party members when they enter the battle.
6 Sinistcha
Where Sinistea evolved after being put into a bigger teapot from its♋ modest kettle, Poltchageist evolves from its pot♍ into a wonderful poured form. Sinistcha, in a similar vein to Poltchageist, is all about making you feel welcomed. They even have a cute whisk on their head.
That said, they can also deal some ⛦damage with their unique move, Matcha Gotcha, which hurts enemies, heals the user, and has a chance to burn too. And like their diverging cousins, Sinistcha can have a special branding denoting their rare status, though this is incre🐼dibly hard to find in the wild.
5 ꧅ Bloodmoon Ursaluna
Legends Arceus was the biggest revolution in Pokemon game design ever. It was the first time ಌthe series took a jump in a completelꦛy new direction, dropping gyms and traditional catching mechanics. With this older setting, they also introduced some ancient Pokemon, with Ursaluna becoming a werebear final evolution of Ursaring.
By the time of Scarlet and Violet, it can be assumed most Hisuian forms have gone extinct, save for Perrin's Hisuian Growlithe. Yet Perrin seems like a key to the past, with her investigations in the Timeless Woods bringing you to a unique Ursaluna that managed to adapt to Kitakami, becoming a fearsome beast of the night.
4 Okidogi
Four legendary Pokemon were added with the Teal Mask DLC, with each of them being a major part of the story and a twist on the animals that helped Momotaro defeat the evil Oni. Okidogi takes the place of the dog from this story, though his greed got th🌃e better of him.
He steals one of Ogerpon's four masks and hides himself away in the Paradise Barrens. As a poison-fighting type, he has some strong offensive and defensive abilities, alongside the Toxic Chain ability that can randomly poison any enemy he hits. He can be captured at the same location after completing the main story.
3 Munkidori
Like the other memౠbers of the Loyal Three, Munkidori takes the place of the monkey from the tale of Momotaro, his mischievous ways resulting in him stealing one of the masks of Ogerpon. Revered by the people of Kitakami, he feels empowered to do whatever he pleases.
He is♉ fought by a lake in the Wistful Fields, and can be encountered there again in the post-game to be captured, putting his silly scheming to an end. He shares the Toxic Chain ability of the others of the Loyal Three, and has the Poison-Psychic types. He is more of a trickster, laying traps and delayed moves to win.
2 Fez♍andipiti ☂
The final (and strongest design of a wea𝔉k bunch) member of the Loyal Three is Fezandipiti, who mirrors the Pheasant of the tale of Momotaro. Like the others, he is revered by the people of Kitakami, and us▨es that love to abuse them, gaining free rein over the land.
Unlike the others, Fezandipiti must be briefly chased through a cave before fighting them on the cliffside at the other end. They're also exceedingly difficult to capture. They have the Poison-Fairy typing, and their moves centre around confusing opponents while restoring their own health in hopes of wearing an enemy thin.
1 Ogerpon
The adorable mascot of The Teal Mask DLC, Ogerpon is an inversion of the Eไvil Oni in the tale of Momotaro. Rather than being some inherent evil, they are instead a misunderstood traveller, forced to live in seclusion due to the people of Kitakami fearing outsiders. They become reviled for generations despite haꦡving the cutest look. Cruel.
﷽Ogerpon is a central figure in the DLC, captured near its end after a mutually friendly battle. They also come with a few unique mechanics, able to swap their type and abilities with their masks and even gaining a unique terastillised form with each one.
