One of the Pokemon introduced in this DLC is Dipplin, an evolutionary step for Applin, the beloved apple-shaped Pokemon that appeared for the first time in Pokemon Sword & Shield. Here's everything you need to know to get it.

How To Get Dipplin

A shiny Applin hanging around in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet.

First off, you must catch an Applin so you can evolve it. This Pokemon can be found in several places across Paldea, most commonly disguising as fruits hanging from tree branches, but also roaming around in the wild.

You can find Applin in these ꦰlocations across Paldea and Kitakami:

Region

Area

Paldea

  • East Province Area One
  • East Province Area Two
  • South Province Area One
  • South Province Area Two
  • Tagtree Thicket
  • West Province Area Three
  • One Star Raid Battles

Kitakami

  • Apple Hills
  • Kitakami Road
  • Mossfell Confluence
  • Kitakami Wilds
  • Two Star Raid Battles
  • Three Star Raid Battles

Once you have captured an Applin, you will need the necessary evolutionary item, called the Syrupy Apple.

Where To Find The Syrupy Apple

To find this item, you must travel to the Mossfell Confluence, the area located at the Southeast corner of the Kitakami map.

As soon as you get there, go to the little orchard with a small cabin, and interact with the box of apples. You will be able to buy a Syrupy Apple for 500 Pokedollars, and you can buy as many of these as 🐻you need (so you can evolve multip꧟le Applin).

Once you obtain it, all that remains is to use it from your inventory to evolve your Applin to Dipplin.

Keep in mind that in the Apple Hills of the Kitakami region, you can also find Tart and Sweet Apples as drops in the ground, but those won't evolve your Applin to Dipplin.
